  1. As TT said this has been discussed in the admin section way before your triumphant return.

But if you say that it's your sale that has prompted an emergency session you must be right of course.

I don't dispute that. The only info I have to go on is the timeline.

Oh, and I guess attempts at wry humor don't go over well here

  2. After a PM exchange with my fellow Team Mate...

And reviewing your attitude in your posts today...

I can say without a doubt, your listing will not be re-posted here...

And just for your information - it WASN'T your listing that prompted our discussion...

    It was BigCrowns Daytona...

Which was allowed to continue and has since sold...

    So enjoy your next hiatus...

    I know we will...

    .

Thats cool. Lost interest in selling here anyway. Probably will get more for the gen parts on ebay anyway. Just thought that members here would like the opportunity for a unique piece.

I guess it was the 1 or 2 hour time difference between the time my post was removed and the time that this new rule went up that threw me

  3. @slai,

Yes, there have been a few interesting offers of late.

We have set a number invisible, pending confirmation of various points, and advices from the sellers.

When/if we are satisfied with those responses, we will make them visible again.

We do however reinforce that the ultimate decision to outlay funds on any purchase, rests with the buyer.

An old adage has been, "If you can't afford to loose the $$, don't spend 'em"

Interesting to see that my less than triumphant return to RWG (after a year hiatius) has prompted an emergency session of the admin team to approve & adopt a new trading rule.

  4. most definitely fake :yuk: the bridge engraving on the genuine movement is much smoother - if the seller sold you as gen, ask for your money back

Can't say I agree on the engraving. I compare side-by-side with gen and the engraving looks the same. In fact, heres an image of known gen at about the same mag and it looks just as rough as the 1 above...

  5. I aqquired this movement from a local shop, at some expense, this weekend. But the more I look at it, the more it bothers me. Namely there isn't any stamp on the bridge, under the balance. Plus the collar on the balance jewel doesn't have any slots. Am I seeing phantoms where there are none? Or do I have reason to be upset? Heres a couple pics for the experts to pour over...

  6. If you run alot of MS pirated software (and who doesn't?) then Vista is NOT the OS for you. MS loses billions a year to software pirates, and Vista (not one of its highly promoted features) is supposed to do much to finally tip the scale in MS's favor......

  7. How bout the 1st generation Fiddys? The 1s with the RXW casing & crystal & old style 6497/1 movement?

OK, so maybe everyone was well aware of its many flaws, but there was enough demand that this piece of rep history was commanding 500+ bucks a pop for the 1st couple months of its release.

You couldn't givem away for $60 these days...

  8. How about the 6497/2 balance from the Asian Unitas, the regulator of the FrankenSwiss, married to the new 6497 Swiss?

Is that doable? Would the resulting movement beat at 21,000 BPH, or maybe because of other factors, just wouldn't run at all?

  9. The 1 on the left is the current incarnation of the Swiss 6497/2 offered on some models. The same movement, as far as I can tell, as the previous version but with 1 major improvement - the bridge plate finishing is as good as gen!! The 1 on the right is the current FrankenSwiss 6497/2 that The Zigmeister did his review on.

So my question to the movement experts is this: can the balance & regulator assembly of the 1 on the right, be married to the very nice movement on the left, resulting in a 6497/2 that would be as close to gen as you can get - would even fool most of the so-called experts, me thinks. :thumbsupsmileyanim:

  10. Yes, the movemernt is genuine from my 113. The 113 that I rarely wear anymore has the rep movement. I listed the 113 on ebay once with a buy-it-now for $3200 but there weren't any takers. I guess the white dials aren't nearly as popular as the 111s that would sell for $3500 or more, no problem. Swaping the movement is no big deal, and I'll probably swap em back at some point - when I can source a gen - HAHA

The casing is a little off, & maybe I'll look at getting the Davidsen case, though I wasn't aware that he sold cases seperately. The dial though (same one that came with the case) is the best. And the box set (lucked out and stumbled upon it on the old trading board) completes the illusion....

  11. Can someone point me to a source for some paint for refinishing fiddy hands? The shiny metalic gold look. I have a basic airbrush kit that I've used for the standard black Pam hands and it works great. So any paint that can be sprayed that will give the right look will work.

  12. Heres ELs 111H after reluming with ready set glo product. I use clear finger nail polish as the binder. Wants to fry really fast so is more difficult to work with than the standard luminova binder. Also filed down the hands to take advantage of the correct spec cannon pinion and hour wheel.
