  1. Help me decide which 127 to buy

Basically, it is down to 2 options:

    1. DSN Ultimate 127 with Swiss 6497 e movemement, sapphire, lume - $460

    2. Joshua's 127 which then will have to be sent to Rob (The Zigmeister) for re-lume and service - probably around the same price after the re-lume and service

What do you guys think? Any other options that I have not considered?

  2. Gents,

I have a question regarding strap lengths. I have standard 18cm (just over 7inch) wrists and cannot seem to find a strap size that I am 100% happy with.

I have a few straps in 125 x 80 and a few in 130 x 80 and I find all these a little short for my liking. Now, I don't want the tail to come up all the way to the opposite side but I do like to tuck the tail into both keepers. Can anyone with similar wrist size recommend a good strap length?

For my next strap I am considering 145 x 85 but perhaps this is a bit TOO long?

    Thanks for reading.

  3. Interesting topic.

I can certainly see both sides of the fence but chose to wear my reps everywhere except ADs and some work functions.

My first 'nice' watch was a gen Tag Carrera and from that point on I knew I would never be able to wear a fashion watch (CK, Guess, Nixon, etc). To sustain the addiction to nice watches, I could go and get a few more gens but the thought of spending 5-10k per watch when I have a house to pay off.....well, it just didn't make much sense.

I am sure that most people with steady incomes are able to afford gen timepieces but chose not to spend their money on watches as there are other more suitable and more important areas of their lives that take up the needed funds.

After becoming really interested in watches I would not be happy with just 1 or 2 gens and here is where reps come in. Owning a rep is a great way to enjoy the design and uniqueness of gen timepieces without spending a fortune. The reps that I own are limited to 'semi-affordable' brands like Panerai, Omega, Breitling and IWC. I would not wear a Breguet, for example.

There is no questions that I would rather own gens but this simply is not practical. Once in a while I do stop and think about the whole rep scene and question my personal thoughts and intentions but at this point in my life, I am not able to settle on a particular watch and reps are the only way to keep the fire burning.

  4. Hi guys,

Does anyone know where I can buy a good-quality watch holder/case for 8-10 watches?

At the moment, I have a separate box for each watch but this hobby is extremely addictive and I am running out of space for individual boxes. What a nice problem to have :D

    Thank you.

  5. Hi all.

I have just received my UPO and thought I would share my initial impressions. No photos here as there have been hundreds of UPO photos posted previously.

This UPO is definitely the best out of the box rep I have seen.

Some people on the forum have commented about the AR on this watch. Prior to getting the watch, I was set on the idea of sending it off to Chief asap. To my surprise, the quality of the AR is actually pretty good. I will probably still send it to Chief but

some people will find the AR more than adequate.

The lume is very bright right after the charge but it dissipates very quick so a lume job is definitely on the cards.

The finish of the case and bracelet is miles ahead of any rep I have seen. Very impressed.

The bezel on my watch is lifting off slightly in 1 spot. I have pushed it back into place for now and may eventually glue it in place.

The Omega logo is just a smidge from being perfectly straight. This can only been seen when you are staring at it close up.

Overall, very happy with this rep.

Although gen parts for the UPO are easily sourced, lume job and AR will be the only mods I will be doing on this watch.

PS. As previously noted by other members, the bracelet links are really tight. I have bent and broken 2 pins and my forearms got a workout in the process of resizing the bracelet.

    Thanks for reading ;)

  6. Hi guys.

Thanks for all your replies. This has been a great lesson in repworld history and I appreciate you taking the time to educate me ;)

I have spent a few days lurking on RWI and I still prefer RWG. Out of RWI, RG and RWG - this forum has something special about it. Everyone is a lot more approachable. At least thats what I think.

I am yet to find a person on this forum who has not shown themselves in their best colours in my dealings with them. Thanks you all once again :1a:

  7. Hi guys. I have just stumbled onto RWI site (replica watch info) and was wondering why there seem to be more dealers on that site that we have here.

I have also spent some time on Repgeek last year and don't really visit that site anymore. The guys here on RWG are a lot more friendly and I am truly enjoying my stay here. ;)

I have noticed that quite a few of RWG members are also on RWI. Interesting that I have not seen any references to RWI previously...

There really isn't much point to anything that I am writing here... Just observations.

I hope I am not offending anyone by speaking about another rep site.

  8. Nice combo! Looks great.

I have the same strap from Zack. I use it on Ti Pam. About a month ago I have sent the strap back to Zack to add stitching to it as I already have a few other stitchless straps. Just got the strap back a few days ago and it looks incredible. I have chosen to go with light brown thread.

Looking at your stitchless version now and I cannot decide which one I like better - with or without stitches. Both look great.
