The OEM alligator instills confidence in repelling the 'call out' factor. Have had this on my wrist next to a two tone in AD and felt no compunction whatsoever about the quality. -O

I'missing something- The 7753 has the subdials in the correct places without an additional module, so would this not be preferable to a 7750 with an add on module which moves the subdials around?? With the dial layout in the HBB. the 7753 should drop right in. -O

The Santos 100 chrono w 7753 is by far, the best rep I own, or have ever owned. Glad you are enjoying yours. -O

You are correct- there has never been a Gen sanos 100, standard, chrono, or otherwise with a patterned dial. I am now going to get back in line to wait for my iPhone... -O

If this movement could be made reliable (I doubt it though) we could also see it in a VC overseas chrono which also has a big date. Ahhh, progress.... -O

You cannot even get a basic Zenith movement for under a grand. Run. Run away. The distributors you will meet here are reliable and provide quality products. Stick with the folks around here. -O

Dont know much about the company, however, 1400 is not much more than the movement with the added big date module is worth- sounds reasonable to me. -O

I held this very watch on Saturday at the Tourneau in King of Prussia- WOW!!! It is beautiful- and the movement is one of the most lovely I have ever seen- THREE spring barrels, and this flat finish that makes it almost look like blue steel. Gorgeous. At 11,550 USD it should be. I am waiting for the Luminor cased version to come out before I start saving though. I hope you get your wish- great choice!!! -O

Outer case dimensions are not really the issue. You need the inner case diameter and thickness w the caseback screwed in, and the length of the stem. The you need to know if you can fit that crown to the stem of the new movement once you have adjusted the length, and put in some sort of retaining ring to hold the movementin place. Not sure if there is a date on the model you are talking about, but if there is, you also need to check if the datewheel fits, and also if the hands fit the spindle on the new movement. Basically, it is not a small job. -O

Quick question- I know that with the genuine bracelet, you need an expensive adapter to fit it to a submersible (in this case, a Gen Pam 024). Is this the case with the Stainless rep bracelet, or will it fit anywhere a strap will?? Any thoughts? Thanks, -O

As a rule, I like one-time purchases- Reps are an interesting alternative to gens if you don't want to spend big bucks on gens. That being said, I like the reps to last- after all, the better ones while cheaper than the gens, are not altogether cheap- particularly if you are getting the better ones with good Swiss movements, etc... SO I tend to stick w the all SS and Solid Gold rather than plated. As others have already stated, plating is crap shoot- and regardless of the quality of the plating, one thing is a certainty- eventually the plating will wear off. -O

About a week ago, my mother told me that one of her friends had gotten one of these as a gift with a picture of their grandaughter on it. She also asked if I would get her one with my kids on it. I was trying to figure out which kids arms should I use- maybe the baby's arm for the hours since she is smaller. Then I decided it kind of sucked. Sorry mom... -O

Actually, for one series, the hands are spot on. Cannot remember which off the top of my head, but if I get a chance to look, I'll get back. The crown here is the unfixable issue- unless in the unlikely event you can source an original, or adapt one cannibalized from an 036 rep, or one of Davisens, you are pretty much stuck. Shame as this is one of the most lovely of all of the Panerai. -O
