  1. You do realize that Sly is like 4 feet tall, right?
  2. Went into an AD. Failed the first attempt- then second told them it was a gift to explain why I did not have the watch. Enjoy. -O
  3. Aw shucks!! Glad you agree... The chrono 7753 is arguably the most accurate rep of any type. Thoroughly recommend the gen strap, and you are good to go. Worth the extra $$$. Enjoy! -O
  4. I generally like threads where people talk about the things that they like about watches they admire, rather than how much they don't like a watch. FOr many a watch is a very personal thing, so dissing their watch is like insulting their child. -O
  5. Both good choices. They still dont have the date font right though. The Regatta has much more accurate engraving of the numbers on the bezel (15,30,45) if that helps you at all. Best, -O
  6. If you ask about this watch, remember... Questions are a burden to others; Answers a prison to one's self. -No. 47 Alway love a good Prisoner reference. Did you hear there's a movie in the works. I imagine it will suck though. They butchered the Avengers movie- in spite of Uma. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Uma. -O
  7. I'm in- let me know how to proceed. Thx for organizing! -O
  8. I wanted to know if anyon has this rep yet, and if so, how accurate, and how has the reliability of this movement been with the big date, etc... Thanks so much for your help, O
  9. whose 082 is it, if I may ask? Thanks, -O
  10. I completely agree that replicas will never be the same as the gen. However, I look at the first 111 rep I bought 3 years ago, and I am floored by the difference and IMPROVEMENTS which have taken place since then; More accurate dials, CG, movement with correctly shaped bridges, bluing in the right places, swan neck regulator adj. etc... The difference is night and day. The newest generation is really quite good. -O
  11. No, talking about the blue engraving. Here is a photo from the other thread, and indeed, the 'oficine panerai' engraving in blue looks a whole lot better than it did before. Look... http://img442.imageshack.us/img442/411/1012004kp3.jpg -O
  12. I cannot look for it right now, but it appears the most recent Davidson reps have an improved font on the movement. It's posted here somewhere. -O
  13. Are you sure this is Swiss movement- I thought there was an ETA hallmark behind the balance wheel on the ETAs? Please correct me if I'm wrong- just not sure. -O
  14. 1) I think it looks pretty cool- silly dial graphics excepted.2) It looks very, very well finished.3) I am not surprised the Italian military is opting for an Italian watch.4) Will likley be way overpriced.-O1) I think it looks pretty cool- silly dial graphics excepted.2) It looks very, very well finished.3) I am not surprised the Italian military is opting for an Italian watch.4) Will likley be way overpriced.-O
  15. Sorry to come so late to the party. EXCELLENT REVIEW as always. Thanks for all the hard work and time it took to do this. -O
  16. Does the gen say 'MAPK 2' on the dial?? Is this an optical trick, or does the gen have some weird thing I don't know about? -O
  17. I would have to respectfully disagree with pretty much everything you just said. The designs and trademarked names are all protected, and any item which has a corporate logo not produced by or under cotract from the manufacture has just cause for suit. ALSO I think it is unreasonable to say that the customer for a replica would never be a customer for a gen. I have several reps, and several gens. The main instance in which I will buy a rep is when the genuine contains a mass produced movement, eta or otherwise. I feel like I'm being had when a rep has the same movement as a gen. The gens I purchase are all manufacture movements (with the exception of the PAM24), and therefore there will be no good reps. It has absolutely nothing to do with me being part of their target market. There are so many people on this forum with gens of very high value, that clearly there are customers for both at variable places on the spectrum. -O
  18. I put mine on my arm next to a gen, and the size appears to be spot on. As I have said in a previous thread- this is the most accurate rep I have encountered. Gen strap fits perfectly, and you are in business. -O
  19. That might explain the Florida thing, a little, but those other factors are actual contributors. When I work with an injured athlete, we factor in expansion/contraction of tissues based upon these issues when fitting them with custom supports (for knees, wrist, etc...) This is why neoprene is so useful as it allows something that fits reasonably well at 7am to still fit reasonably well at 7pm. Fortunately, most players train in one area, so once you know their size range, you can make something that works for them. Of course that can all go out the window when, for example, the Eagles are playing in Miami (Unfortunately, the Dolphins are coming here this year- eliminating an extra trip to Miami- Bah!!!!) -O
