  1. 1) I did not know Stauer made a Toubillon 2) If they do, I can assure you the movement is Chinese, regardless of where Stauer is. 3) I still cannot find any info about Richards relationship with the company. -O
  2. Oh for heaven's sake. The combination to our comapny safe is 23-34-17. My social security nymber is 123-45-6789 The PIN on my bank card is 6969 And I keep the gun in a shoebox under my desk. -O
  3. I am not sure, but dont the Must watches have quartz movements in them?? -O
  4. You see, what you do, is you buy this pocket watch for 250K, take it to a local jeweller, and have 'em weld lugs onto the edges of the case to make it a wrist watch. You can do this,a nd it won't affect the value of the watch at all. Really.... Actually I only bring this up as there has been a flood of watches from Eastern European countries made by placing large calibre pocket watch movements into wrist watch cases. You can find them all over eBay; I have actually considered buying a 47mm IWC which has been floating around for a while there. -O
  5. In that condition, with the box, 250K is a lowball estimate. -O
  6. I got two of these from a guy on Canal Street about a year ago... Actually, this watch is truly remarkable. People forget that not only Patek was making ultracomplications for the elite. VC and Breguet have had their hands in that market as well. Beautiful watch. -O
  7. Why is Keith Richards wearing a $299 Stauer watch on the cover of Rolling Stone? At least a Swatch has some character, a g-shock or Timex Iron Man has some utilitarian use, but a poser watch?? I would figure that unless he has blown all of his dough on drugs and cigarettes hes got to be able to get himself something nice. -O
  8. Cant tell if it is a curvex case. How cool would this be if it were a fully curved driving watch? Nobody has made one of those in a long time. -O
  9. Next year he is doing 'Over the Top Two' (Let's see who is really a Stallone fan. The first one is arguably one of the worst 'films' ever made. -O
  10. When you get tired of the tatoos, Ive got an NdYAG laser to remove them for you. Unfortunately, with all that area covered, it will take about 300 treatments, and cost half a milllion dollars. I'll start making a list of the gens I want to buy now... -O
  11. No problem. I have seen these go on eBay for around 2K, so keep your eyes open if that is in your basic range. Chronoswiss makes lovely watches, and they are going to be adding 'manufacture' movements over the next couple of years which will only drive up the price. -O
  12. if you are willing to go to about 1000 (a little over)- you could get a MacBook which will both run Windows and Mac OSX. The OSX is less vulnerable to viruses, and they are really hot machines- I have one for home and one for office, and they are killer. The belief that Macs are more expensive is only true if you do not take into account all of the software and extras that come with a Mac; camera, photo and music management, basic word processing, good browser & mail apps- you really cannot go wrong. ALSO if you get 'Apple Care' you have limitless support. Good hunting!!!! -O
  13. There is a solid gold calatrava that pops up from time to time that is very, very close to gen in appearance. -O
  14. That is a Chronoswiss 'Klassic' or 'Classic' model chronograph, which I believe is still in their current catalogue, and not hideously expensive. -O
  15. You may encourage her to reconsider the Tissot- they have a reputation for spectacular unreliability. -O
  16. it appears to be, but a more straight on photo showing the balance/escapement would help things a little. -O
  17. That's pretty much where I was until I decided I really wanted the Santos 100 chrono. I saw that the reps were getting better, had the same movement as the genuine, and as Cartier periodically cubtly changes their dials, I felt I would not likely be called. Upon receiving the watch, and adding a 300 dollar OEM band- bringing it into the realm of the $1000 dollar rep, I still feel like I got my money's worth. The rep is essentially perfect- and while it is still a rep, bear in mind that the movement (after servicing of course) should be as reliable as the gen. The 7753 is a solid, workhorse movement. If I had purchased a gen for the 7600 srp I would have been [censored] out of my gourde if someone showed me this rep. It is truly remarkable. NOW- I have had enough bad experience with the ASIAN 7750 (one watch was enough) to know that I will avoid it like the plague. A high end rep is not worth anything to me if I have to constantly check my wrist to see if the watch is still running, or if bits have fallen off. I have read a few reviews which suggest this movement has improved over the past year or so, but until I see people with reps which have lasted a couple of years, I still would not bite. I really like the Hublot, but there's just no chance I'll get one with the time bomb ticking inside of it now. (Which still begs the question why a gen won't fit- nobody has really given me a satisfactory explaination for this omission) Best, -O
  18. Now we're back to directing persons with TWO posts to dealers?? This is a fun hobby- why oh why oh why do some feel like they need to destroy it??? Ugh!!! -O
  19. I cannot find anything wrong with the dial aside from a very slight difference in the date font- but it is really close. Other than that, nothing. -O
  20. only have seen one breitling rep w GMT which was from EL a while back. As far as I know, that's it. -O
