  1. Fantastic review! Thank you for the time and effort spent in doing this!
  2. I may be wrong, but the calibre 16 doesn't look at all like an ETA 7750, nor an A7750 for that matter. Could you upload more pictures of the movement? The Pendulum looks nice!
  3. Holy cow! May I ask how much did this project set you back?
  4. Big maybe, not ridiculous. The GP does wear bigger because it is bigger.
  5. ATTENTION: this issue is VERY easy to fix. Do not sell the watch for a bargain because of this! All it takes is to remove the crown/stem (and for that you will want to open the caseback, obviously!). The four tiny screws are easily accessible once the crown is removed. If you don't want to fix it yourself, any watchsmith would do the job for a dollar.
  6. As for me, any of the 2011's AP ROO is the single most anticipated rep of 2012.
  7. My problem is: I don't have this kind of product readily available - cheap! - here in Brazil.
  8. But what if your old watch just had the threads stripped? I have two watches is such a condition: one Hublot with ALL caseback screw threads stripped and a recently acquired second-hand AP ROO RBII with impending stripping crown threads!
  9. I am, too, in search for a product with the same purpose! I've come across a few options, but I am not sure whether these products would work on such small threads as crown tubes and caseback screws.
  10. If the A7750 is a low beat version, then it is a direct swap, no hands need to be modified.
  11. I really like the PD watches, in particular the highly acclaimed Flat 6 chronographs. The rotors in the PD watches are among the nicest designs ever IMO, and some of their watches have stunningly detailed and intricate dials that set these watches apart from the vast majority of other sport watches. And what about the Indicator chronograph complication, ingenious or what? Or the Diver, whose design is even better than the original Eterna (IMO)? Sadly, though, the diver replica is a POS.
  12. Keep in mind that what I am about to say is only an opinion: don't waste your money on this watch! I know it looks good, I know it has a very attractive case design, an ingenious bezel locking mechanism and things like that. BUT the replication is very bad and the effort put by the factories on this particular Porsche Design was poor to say the best. The strap is the single worst point of the replica with its lose connection to the metallic endlink, but equally important are the imprint on dial (too weak), the painted hour markers (instead of applied metallic markers), the poor finish of the case construction, poor finish of clasp construction, bezel that is locked by the crown when the latter is fully screwed in, crown that has to be fully screwed in otherwise the watch won't close, metallic end links with not enough curvature to properly fit the wrist, wrong datewheel font, misaligned datewheel, incorrect font and misaligned text on case sides, wrong caseback. I have one of these P'6780. I bought the black dial, received the fantasy grey instead. Dealer accepted to replace, but I decided not to because this watch will remain in the drawer whatever its color.
  13. Funny is that there was a panda listed for sale here and it remained available for a long time.
  14. Much, much less appealing than any other watches they came up with in the recent past years.
  15. Did you swap dials (or hour markers) between the two watches you have? Or did Uwe relume the hour markers as thick as the gen?
  16. Differences between regular and lite: AR and supposedly the plating thickness. There is another lite version that comes with weak AR, low beat movement, wrong datewheel font and wrong crown sticker size. It costs significantly less than the other two versions, and is the best cost-benefit if you ask me. It has exactly the same construction as the others. I have two of these, and except for the crown, the other "flaws" can be easily corrected for less money than the price difference to the more expensive version (unless you buy this second hand). If you look for my posts you will find pics of my Kings. Oh, forgot to say that the Kings are effing awesome watches!
  17. The case is angled. The point is: the gap seems to be too wide in the OP's crown, as if the tube was longer than it should. However, as the bottom part of the crown is flush with the case, the tube length seems to be correct . And I don't see how the tube could be shaped to compensate for the angled case. The tube could only be placed at an angle, but then the movement would also need to be angled inside the case.
  18. I remember your sales thread. I may be the only one here, but I simply love this brand (not every single watch, though).
  19. I am sorry to see this thread, but allow me to ask why the movement above is not a chronometer. I see all the hardware for the chronograph functions! Are you referring to chronometer versus chronograph?
  20. Yep, I don't like this particular model you pictured above. They have several other very pretty models.
  21. I own 4 TX (T770, 2xT800, T830) and I like'em very much. They're great value for the money, unique design, sapphire crystal, signature crown, enamel crown on select models, linear chronograph (how cool and unique is that?) and an electronic compass. Alas, the company didn't do well and is now demised. I keep an eye on second hand market to increase my collection.
  22. Do you remember the Audemars Piguet Don Bamon and the Chopard Racing that read SECONOS on the subdial? To name a few...
