  1. Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone has come across a good source for replacement movements for the 42mm PO. I've been wearing mine non-stop since I purchased it last April and it has started acting up. I've read that the DG2813 movements from Cousin's won't work because the stock movement has a recessed cannon pin. I've read that Ajoe has some movements that will work, but he's only one man. There must be hundreds of us who bought a Narikaa PO who would like to have a backup movement or 2. In my case, I love this watch so much I might just buy 3!

ETA 2789 on mine but with a diferent dial. You will have to check out the stem/movement face distance (too small on the 2824).

  2. Well, I went ahead and filed the crown "area" so that it may accept a genuin PO crown and tube. I am a just a bit disapointeed with the bezel construction as teh bezel insert is required for teh instalation of the bezel spring, something that inevitably will lead to issues with the bezel dot alignement with the dial.

BTW, I am palnning to instal a 32mm MKII milsub dial, as the original one has irrelevant lume. And that will probably lead meto the instalation on an ETA 2836, as soon as I find out that the movement ring of the movement is adequate. The hands lume can still be seen in th early hours in the morning, something you cannot say about the dial.

I am suprised with the movement: it hacks, it handwinds, it has good accuracy, a nice power reserve. It makes you think... I would love to keep it. If I could find suitable hands with decent, functional lume, I might just do that.

Even with all the "negatives", I still think it represents amazing value. And I would pay another a 50% plus just to have some decent lume.

With replicas I find it hard to justify paying a lot more than that Reg asks for. Go Reg!

  3. The watch will not please the replica perfectionists. The lume is indeed weak. It will not accept a gen bezel (from my measuring and Ofrei data). But still represents the best value I have ever seen, apart from a Casio G-Shock. FABULOUS item. A relume and gen tube, crown and he-valve would make it really smashing. I am very pleased and recommend this watch and Reg too - kind, helpful and understanding. Go for it!

  4. Thanks, DB2. It would be great if they could just sell the cases (even without the valve but properly threaded for an original tube. A stainless movement ring for a 2824 and a domed sapphire. Gen exterir parts should fit. I would certainly pay more than for a complete watch. I wonder if a special batch could be made for those who like to tinker a bit more. That would open a new market for dials, hands etc, and all perfectly legit.

  5. Been looking around the genuine dial for months now. Nothing yet. There used to be many on ebay but now ...not even one.

I have an original Omega SMP quartz (blue). It is your for USD$80, shipping included.

And if someone is interested, I also have an original blue SMP Chrono Dial, for the same price.

  6. I am on the market for a 42mm UPO, and one that I can purchase in Europe.

I also would like to see the pseudo-he valve reworked so that the case watertightness is not compromised.

All in all, I would like that this UPO would have a WR of at least 200m and I believe this could be done: cases from a reputable german maker can have this WR and cost around
