  1. That may be the biggest crock of s-hit I've ever heard
  2. This one is supposedly German made and it's not a rep, so I was curious if the quality may be anything better than what we can get from our dealers for $500-600....thanks for the comments. Any other input is also appreciated.
  3. Is this a run of the mill tourbillon movement or something better than the chinese $500-level stuff? I don't know much about these movements other than they're sweet....and yes, I know this picture isn't that great and more would help, sorry. Any help appreciated, thanks.
  4. Anyone buy a Crazy Hours? Tempted to get one for my girlfriend.
  5. I just got this HBB in the mail today from Watchmark and it has had problems running since I started to wear it. I've noticed it stopped running several times already today. The longest it's held the power reserve is an hour after winding it many many times. If I don't wind it a ton, it will run for about 10 minutes before stopping. Now I am trying to wind it and it isn't even running when I do that....is this a bad movement? Edit - and now it has started running again for no apparent reason...I'm not sure what I should do here.
  6. I received an email from Mark saying he would post the watch again tomorrow. I have assured him that I have every intention of paying for this watch and as a salesman myself, would never try to rip someone off like that. As stated, I will gladly send another payment upon receiving the refund, or if he can work it out with his bank to unfreeze the payment and process it would be ok with me too. I do think it is very generous of him to agree to send out the watch without payment yet, but please rest easy in knowing that I am a man of my word (I know this has little bearing on the internet, but I am) and will gladly send another payment upon refund of the original one. Thanks Mark, and I look forward to doing business with you in the future if we can work this out in a positive manner. Still a great price for a great watch.
  7. This is getting pretty ridiculous. He basically said I have the choice of sending another $430 now if I want the watch shipped immediately (i.e. I'm out $860 for a $430 watch until I get a refund 3 weeks from now) or waiting the 3 weeks while my money is frozen halfway around the world and then re-ordering. Why in the world would I want to order from him again if there is a chance the same thing could happen???? What do you all think is a fair resolution here?
  8. Seemed a little fishy to me too, that's why I asked if anyone else had this experience. I didn't have $430 burning a hole in my pocket so badly that I wanted to let someone in China hold onto it for a month for no reason. Not a good first experience to say the least.
  9. It wasn't a paypal payment, I paid with a Visa card. He said his bank froze his account and all payments to him (so I'm not sure how he's refunding me, but he said I'll have it within 20 days). This is the email I just got from him: dear David your watch already sent out.. but i take back from post office already. because my bank account already frozed.. i need refund full payment to you. and you need pay again to my new bank account. i will resend to you after your payment received. regards mark
  10. After seeing the pictures of the rose gold/ceramic HBB for $425 I decided to go ahead and buy one. I got an email from him last week saying it had already been posted to EMS with a tracking number. Then the next day I get an email saying the bank I sent money to froze his account and he would send me a refund, then I could order the watch again. Figuring this would take no more than a day or two I said ok (even though it was supposedly already posted to EMS), then I get an email today saying it would take 20 days to get my refund. I really don't want to wait 20 days + the shipping time to get this watch. I contacted him to ask what the deal is but haven't heard back yet (granted it's only been a few hours). This is going to be severely disappointing if that's the case. Anyone else have this happen to them?
  11. I bit the bullet and just ordered one of these for myself. Thanks for posting the pics.
  12. Yes, used....obviously you aren't going to find a new Omega for 50-60% off list price, but secondary market they seem to sell for around that. I've even seen the PO Chrono on there for under $3k and I believe that lists at $6k
  13. By UPO I meant the 45mm model...sorry if that lead to confusion. I see gens on Timezone all the time for $1600-1900.
  14. Maybe it's just me, but I don't understand why you'd drop $1.5k on a rep when you can get a real UPO for $1600-1800.
  15. But seriously....sell it to me =)
  16. I am assuming at an asking price of $3000 that this is either a rep or pics of a gen with intent to pass off a rep as the gen when meeting in person. I've got to assume this thing would cost $20k+ at an AD. Am I right here or off base? You know the saying about when it seems too good to be true...
  17. Most auctioneers will bid against the buyers to drive up the price so that it gets sold for something reasonable rather than the opening bid. Happens with art all the time.
  18. If I were you, I'd just go ahead and sell me the RG/Ceramic and go with the Black Magic. Seems like a smart choice.
  19. Someone on TZ is selling a Hamilton with ETA 7750 for $370 (maybe cheaper now) if someone wants one. Can't even buy the movement that cheap...
  20. Maybe I didn't explain that very well. I was going to meet him at the post office and purchase a money order to give him so that I have a receipt of the transaction. He could then cash the money order and be on his way. I wasn't just picking up a package, we were both supposed to meet there. When he called me, he was already at the post office.
  21. As referenced in my other post, I was all set to pick up a Gen. Timewalker Chrono this morning at a very good price. The seller and I had communicated through email every step of the way (found his ad on Craigslist) and he agreed to sell me the watch for $xxx. We agreed to meet at the post office at 9 AM today to transfer payment and the watch to each other, and he calls me at 8:45 AM to make sure I'm still coming. I say yes and get on the road. Halfway to the post office, he calls me back and asks to make sure I still want the watch. I say yes and he tells me he just called his friend who works at a "luxury watch dealer" and told him that he was selling too cheap and now he either wants the original amount he was asking or the deal was off. At this point, I'm dumbfound and don't really know what to say. I don't want to pay what he was originally asking, but I do still want the watch and he had agreed to sell it to me at the given price. So, what should I do? 1. Forget it 2. Threaten to take him to small claims to enforce the contract 3. Raise my offer Keep in mind that I have all e-mails from him stating that we had a deal and all negotiations were finalized. What do you think?
  22. I am picking up a gen. Mont Blanc Timewalker Chrono this weekend and have been debating whether to keep that or try and set up a trade for a HBB Rose Gold/Ceramic rep. plus some cash.....what would you do?
  23. Movements are probably too expensive to rep
