  1. Cheers guys!

Yep, I kinda recall the demise of one RWG forum and then a few others starting up when I joined this one? It was not long after I joined this forum that I just got side tracked with other "life" stuff and left the rep watch scene behind.

Looking at getting the new 187 now, although may have to "thin" out my current collection first. :nea:

  4. Hello all,

Been away from the rep scene for a good few years now. But I'm back and looking at the new 187.

I have a few reps from back in the day, about 5 years ago now I guess. How would I try to find out what they may be worth if I decided to sell. I don't want to post a thread asking about specific models, as I guess that could be classed as trying to sell outside of the Sales Section. But if I post in the sales section I need an asking price?

    Cheers, Chris.

  5. shadowcrew was busted loooong time ago... but i see you know what you're talkin about... and i knew you would know SC when you said you were using egold for a long time :)

no, i'm talking about a recent bust (a few weeks ago).

oh I see, must have missed this one,

Do you any online links about it, would be interested to read up on this.

  6. its not the running away i fear, its just that e gold is fXXXing inconvenient. worse than WU or whatsoever!

if i'd like to order a watch from you, it would take me at least 2 weeks till i have the bullion in my e gold account. i would have to send scans of my drivers license, talk to them on the phone and so on. its just too much of a hussle for such a thing.

if i wanted to buy drugs or guns over the internet, i'd go through that trobule, but not for a 100$ watch!

I can see that this would appear inconvenient for some, but as I said before, for me it is less hassle than Western Union, I just pay cash in to a bank account and the egold is ready to go a few hours later.

Yes its a lot more hassle than pp though.

  7. No, the trojan i'm talking about can be used with any browser. How do i know that? because it was being sold on a forum which was cracked down by the secret service during operation rolling stone! the price was extremly high (5.000US$) and it was confirmed by independet review that it was fully functional. this trojan is undetectable for any anti virus program. sure this thing is not public (and probably good for us!)

Are you talking about the shadowcrew?

If this did exist, I presume you would still have to download an attachment to your PC ?

IMO Egold is as safe if not safer than pp.

  8. oh yes and i forgot, theres a crapload of egold trojans out there, which will EMTPY your account (without you noticing it).

and anti-virus software wont even detect them, since they are specifically programmed by someone who then sells them to other ppl.

good to know at least someone around here is smart! even i withdraw the money i have in my PP account everytime someone sends me some, and i'm not doing "big business" with a huge risk of chargebacks!

see it like this: would you walk around with 50.000$ in your wallet? no?

Yes , you need to be careful for trojans, but if you take very basic precautions you will not have your account hacked. I have had my account for years and know many others too with accounts, I do not personally know anyone with a hacked account.

But yes people's accounts are hacked, just as their pp, Bank and Ebay accounts are hacked aswell.

With pp, yes you withdraw the money ASAP, but if there is a chargeback, you have a - balance, so you need a new account, and to keep getting new pp accounts is not straight forward. When you have the pp linked to a Website Shop, you cant watch it 24 hours a day to withdraw the funds as they come in either.

  9. 4%....so it's no cheaper than PP.....!

"Anonymous ATM cards......not in the UK you can't.....and I don't imagine in the US either..!

Yep, its no cheaper than pp, it fact it can be more expensive.

But , there is ZERO risk of chargeback, once you are paid, you stay paid.

Many ATM cards are available that allow the funding of egold, you can give them any name you want, purchase the card for between $20-$50 wait for it to arrive and away you go. I am in the UK.

Egold and other e-metal currencies are used by many to move large amounts of money around and also to hide this money from the authorities.

  10. So...buying the currency seems straightforward....how does it migrate to a dealer's account...?

You need to use an exchanger to get your cash out too.

Again you are looking at a charge of around 4% for the service.

Many people use "anonymous" ATM cards, which you can load up and then withdraw the cash from ATMs worldwide, away from the eyes of the Taxman.

  11. I have used e-gold for a long time.

They don't care what you sell or buy, and there is no chance of a chargeback

I am in the UK and use the following exchanger http://www.londongoldexchange.com/

I go to my local Abbey National Bank, pay cash into their account then email or text them the details and most of the time the egold is in my account within 4 hours.

They charge 4% or £10 whatever is highest on the amount of egold you want. They take bank wires , transfers etc and credit cards. There are exchangers cheaper though, but I always use these guys as I use cash.

Check out their FAQ for more details about egold http://www.londongoldexchange.com/faq/default.asp

It is not as simple and easy as pp though.

ALSO, Be careful there are few egold trojans around, ALWAYS use the SRK to enter your password, never type it in.

  12. Went to my local mall here in NW London, passed by one of those stores which "rapairs shoes, cuts keys, and does watch repairs"...I saw he had a waterproof testing machine so I asked how much he charges, he asked to see my watch...I handed over my speedy moon watch, he looks at the front, turns it around...I'm waiting to hear if he'll ask if it's a replica...instead he says "Hmm...this doesn't use a battery...blah blah blah" told me that my watch wasn't water proof because it didn't have "water proof" written on it... :bangin:

    As Chronus would say....PEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE :p

    PMSL :D

So would he not check it for you then?

  13. Most of the problems you have described with your watch are characteristic of your choice of model/movement.

There is more than enough information around on the rep 7750 movement to make an informed choice whether or not to buy a watch that uses it. They are notoriously unreliable.

Secondly, I have read before about the paint on the bezel coming off on the Navitimer 7750 rep.

I'd blame your choice of watch over the dealer in this case.....

I agree, these problems have been aired before.

After 4 months of using a watch, I would not think of contacting a dealer, unless it was regarding spares for the watch.

  14. Anyway, someone wearing a real watch will most likely be called out for wearing a fake I reckon, so at least no one will try to rob you... having said that I have lived here all my life (even in the good safer times) and I've never encountered any problems, but my brother has been the victims of 2 attempted muggings ... but nothing happened.

A friend of my nephews, was given a gen Jacob & Co watch for his birthday from his father. I had met him a few times and seen the watch, very flash.

Whilst riding his Scooter in North London he was hit by a car and badly hurt. His watch was stolen from his wrist whilst he was unconscious lying in the road.

    Some people are just scum

  15. Okay,.. EL says if we can get at least 15 people to order, he can get them for $435 shipped.

Each individual will get their watch delivered separately.

I 90% sure that you can select either 29 or 63, as the cases are the same as the 2836 models

that are still being produced, but I'm still awaiting official word...

I will post when the answer comes in, but in the mean time I need to know solid numbers..

for affirmative purchases, remember there are only about 20 left.

Those who posted and pm'ed first, are first in line, but I need your confirmation again,

so if you are reading this please post it.

Edit: It's been confirmed, you can order your choice of 29 or 63....

That's a good deal, shame I orderd two already on Saturday :bangin:

Although EL did give me a small discount for two so :thumbsupsmileyanim:

  16. Don't know yet Chris...

I like a lot the vintage of JTB, I also want a CN Black Seal (G or H haven't decided yet) because I have a brown Europelli strap waiting for a BS (and all the BS i had are sold now) and I definately need them to source me a new 112H dial (so this may take some time).

So if you are in a hurry you shouldn't include the 111 in this group buy.

Yeah thats cool, Jay may have already posted the 111 not sure.

I'm in no rush for the 92/24, but count me in when we are ready to go.

If I don't sell my damaged 212, I might see if they can get me a replacement crystal for that too.

  17. Yet to hear back from Jay and Angel so far, after one week and two emails

Are they about at the minute?

    chris

Just to update you, I received an email from them around the same time as posting the above comment.

They have offered to send me out a replacement and I will send back to faulty watch to them :thumbsupsmileyanim:

    Thanks Jay! :yeah:

  18. My 111h arrived today :D

Thanks to watcher and veni for sorting this deal out for us

    That's the good news

The bad news? It has broken when I started to wind it :(

On about the 15th wind the crown just spun backwards, when I try to wind it now the crown just continues to spin backwards.

Apart from this it looks great

Oh well, will drop Jay an email about it later
