  1. Maybe not the most accurate, but I love the look of that watch. I gotta get me one of those! Great review, Niclas. Thanks for taking the time and trouble to post!
  2. Ron, take a look at my sig, and follow the link to my review of a cheapie Monaco rep. Not the best repped model I'm afraid, mainly due to there being no suitable movement with running seconds at 3 to use in the rep. If you are after a passable rep to be proud of, you'd better look elsewhere, but if you are just after a bit of fun, then for the money they are just fine.
  3. Unusual model, and not one I'm familiar with. Not too taken with it TBO. Would prefer the BP.
  4. Lani... wow, what a project you have going there! I can't believe I missed this thread, as being such a 1655 fan myself. Good luck to you my friend and I will echo the previous posts, in that I cannot wait to see the finished results! Cheers now!
  5. Hey, vlaletom.... great work! I love this model it is one of my favourite vintage rollies. Very difficult to get right. I love the look of that tropic. Good work! Keep at it.
  6. The cousins catalogue is a great read! Couldn't wait to open it up and crack a beer!
  7. Thank you! This is a brilliant resource, and will benefit all RWG members.
  8. I am really glad it did. TBH I was worried that the offer I made would not get passed customs at Heathrow! lani....it was my pleasure I am already looking forward to reading your post. I am sure that you will be making a much better photo review than I ever could. lani... this is a great idea. If you wish to send on your box set to another forum member for a photo shoot then this could become the "tales of a well travelled box set" thread. Just think, it has already been sent from China to the UK, and on to 'somewhere in the Pacific'. I make that somewhere in the region of 12100 miles already! We could make this a "photo shoot and pass on" thread that could run for years! Lani...R, you are most welcome!
  9. Wow, I can't imagine how hard this must be. Don't get too many big fires in the UK. Good luck to you and your neighbourghs!
  10. Run! And take your wallet with you! Ah....bugger! Too late....you'll be hooked by now. Congrats on your first rep purchase and welcome to the forum.
  11. Haha, you don't sound too sure Freddy. Might there be one lurking in a box 'o' bits somewhere? Go on there is, isn't there! BTW... you guys are killing me with these Comex pics! Must resist.. must resist!!!
  12. Thanks for taking the time to review your latest find. It is great that you are pleased with your SD. Enjoy!
  13. Hey Chrgod! It's great to see how your enviable collection has grown and matured. You have some unusual pieces in there. I would say that you share a very close taste in watches to myself. I can only dream of doing as well as you have in your passion. Congratulations!
  14. I'm not that big a Pan fan, but this model really does do it for me! Nice one chieftang! (Great pic too!)
  15. Not had this on the wrist for some time. So. Friday night AND Saturday will be.... me' trusty old 42.5 PO
  16. I agree. A lot of the fun is in the anticipation of the package arriving. A bit of a downer though, when tracking says it's is stuck in customs for days! Still, you get used to it! Hope you enjoy yours when it finally gets to you!
  17. I bought an ETA powered TT model from PT about two years ago. It has the plain dial with CZ markers. A great watch, my better half loved it. We were out one night at a function hosted by the boss and his wife. His wife had the exact same model on her wrist (but I assume gen, as he has a gen Datejust). I did a quick visual compare when they weren't looking, and the rep model is pretty damn good (IMO). Ha..unless I was looking at two reps!
  18. Welcome from another Brit. We're not so thin on the ground. You will see that when you get further into this place. But, you won't have any difficulty finding assistance from freinds the other side of the globe on this forum. Enjoy!
  19. Great looking watch. You have knocked the case around to age it, but is has the smoothnes of age as well. How have you done this? It looks awesome!
  20. I too can recommend watchworx. Great quick service within the UK.
  21. It's a SOSF evening for me. Was wearing my Seamaster pro earlier. Maybe my sub on Bond Nato tomorrow..... who knows!
