  1. You've got a point. But new threats are being made every minute, so it could be useful that you really get the leastest stuff. Anyway most AV tests recomment it and from my expierience I once had a rootkit in my pc while using NOD32 and later examining it Kaspersky and McAfee didn't recognize it either. Of course the all AV thing is matter of taste, but I can just recommend looking at tests, sometimes it saves a lot of headache.

  2. Are you having a laugh with Norton??!! There isn't a hacker out there that couldn't get through Norton in their sleep!!!

No offence, but seems like your 10 years in IT was not sufficient to judge which AV is good and which not.

Norton AV 2009 updates more than 200 times a day, thats four times more than any other AV. If you don't believe me, take a look here.

And seems like you haven't read the latest AV reviews, like here and here you can clearly see that Norton is suggested as the safest one.

  3. Yes, you can trust your favourite dealer and hope that he actually sends you a Swiss movement. And if you are not satisfied with power reserve or timekeeping, you can open up the caseback and try to figure out if it actually is Swiss(there are lots of guides around).

  4. Man, look around, look at some more watches. With time you'll like PAM's, AP's or maybe even Graham's :D The point is: don't make quick decissions. I think that there are better reps out there than these two, more close to gen I mean. Like the SOSF, Skyland and others. There are lots of nice Omegas, IWC's if you don't like Rollies.

Personally I wouldn't buy one of those two at this point, but if they are the ones I would take the Carerra.

  5. I bought my first rep end August last year. It was a UPO. Before my interest in reps and watches generally I was wearing a Seiko quartz. Pretty nice watch thou, but a quartz. So I got my rep and was very impressed with build quality and movement precision and everything was nice. I liked my UPO a lot. A week ago I managed to sell it in the name of economic crysis. Now I feel that a part of the things I like is missing. Just like losing a friend. I have ordered a Seiko Black Monster now, but I don't think I will like it as much as my UPO. So here are the pics:
