  1. I have a Datejust from them that's over 4 years old; it still runs good. Whenever I email questions, I get a prompt response, and I believe they now email the customer a video link that shows their watch as it undergoes water -proofing, and beats per hour testing.
  2. What must I do to replace the crown o-ring, and get the crown to lock down in a Daytona? The o-ring in my Daytona worked itself out one day when I pulled the stem to set the hands; now the stem won't lock down. I can still set the hands and wind the watch up; just can't lock it down. How can I install a new o-ring and fix the lock down issue (unless one automatically takes care of the other). A step-by-step will help immensely. Thanks.
  3. Thanks, everyone for your helpful comments.
  4. Have any of you experienced the bezel cover coming off on your Sub? I've had this problem and so did a friend of mine. I purchased mine through a very reputable dealer whose name I will not mention. I've even used super glue (twice). Any ideas will be appreciated.
  5. Beautiful watch. Get it AR coated.
  6. No. I'm still wearing the strap that came with the watch. I spray it down with silicone spray every now and then to get it to soften up. Its only stiff where it connects to the watch.
  7. I was in Atlantic City this past Sunday at the Tornneau Shop at Ceasars Pier. They have a Carrea Racing Chrono and its a dead ringer for the Racing Carrea rep I was wearing. I was able however to detect a difference with the rubber band. The gen had more of a supple appearance and feel.
  8. No but another member told me about a site called GlobalWatchband.com. I'm going to look them over and see if they have good prices. When it comes to rubber bands, go with a gen rubber band. I tried a gen on at Macy's and its a totally diffent look and feel.
  9. While you're on the topic of rubber straps, where can I get a good price on a gen rubber strap? The one that comes with the Carrea Racing Chrono is pretty stiff. I've tried the gen on at Macy's ($2300.00) and that strap has a much better feel; it very pliable, and molds snugly to your wrist.
  10. I have a Carrea Racing Chrono from King. I'm very happy with it. No problems except that it looks better on large wrists. My wrist is thin. Still a very nice watch. I'm thinking about getting a gen leather or rubber strap for it.
  11. The watch took about 5 days to arrive. King is a good dealer to do business with; I will definitely order from her again. The shipping was free; that in itself saves about $25 to $30 USD. Anyway here it goes: The watch arrived in a brown package and inside there was a styrofoam rectangular box with an upper and lower half sealed with a tan plastic tape. When the tape was removed and the two halves of the box separated, the watch was inside a zip-lock bag and that was wrapped in bubble wrap. I was impressed by the packaging as I never received anything packaged like this from from the other approved dealers on the board. The watch was flawlessly polished. I can't detect any defects on the dial front, or back. Its exquisite for a rep. The black rubber strap is a little stiff in comparison to the gen I tried on at Macy's, but its not that bad. I don't know what to say about the date font. Maybe someone on the board can tell me if has the right date font or not when I send in some pics. All of the chrono functions work. The start-stop pushbutton is a little stiff when operating, but it works. The reset pushbutton works well also. The red chrono hands line up perfectly when reset. I can't see any irregularities in the major or minor graduations, or the numbers on the sub-dials and main dial. The dial detail and engraving on the back is remarkable. I'm sure when I send some pics, a few things will be pointed out by better trained eyes. I hope the sapphire crystal lives up to its reputation for being scratch resistant because I'm not accustomed to having a large dial on my wrist; I already rubbed up against a shopping cart, and other things in the super market this evening. All-in-all, I'm very satisfied, and I can be very picky when it comes to detail, no matter what it is. Pics to follow.
  12. HaHaHa! Who ever wrote this article missed his calling in life. He can read minds, psychoanalyze, and probably thinks he's a renown authority of the human psyche....... but he won't stop me from buying a good rep.
  13. I'm sure, as someone has already mentioned, that there are enough reps purchased among the members in this forum where we can save $$$ through buying from one another.
