I have a Datejust from them that's over 4 years old; it still runs good.
Whenever I email questions, I get a prompt response, and I believe they now email the customer a video link that shows their watch as it undergoes water -proofing, and beats per hour testing.

What must I do to replace the crown o-ring, and get the crown to lock down in a Daytona?
The o-ring in my Daytona worked itself out one day when I pulled the stem to set the hands; now the stem won't lock down.
I can still set the hands and wind the watch up; just can't lock it down.
How can I install a new o-ring and fix the lock down issue (unless one automatically takes care of the other).
A step-by-step will help immensely.
Thanks.

Thanks, everyone for your helpful comments.

Have any of you experienced the bezel cover coming off on your Sub?
I've had this problem and so did a friend of mine. I purchased mine through a very reputable dealer whose name I will not mention.
I've even used super glue (twice). Any ideas will be appreciated.

Beautiful watch. Get it AR coated.
-
Have you found a good leather one?
No. I'm still wearing the strap that came with the watch. I spray it down with silicone spray every now and then to get it to soften up. Its only stiff where it connects to the watch.

I was in Atlantic City this past Sunday at the Tornneau Shop at Ceasars Pier. They have a Carrea Racing Chrono and its a dead ringer for the Racing Carrea rep I was wearing.
I was able however to detect a difference with the rubber band. The gen had more of a supple appearance and feel.
-
Have you found a good leather one?
No but another member told me about a site called GlobalWatchband.com. I'm going to look them over and see if they have good prices. When it comes to rubber bands, go with a gen rubber band.
I tried a gen on at Macy's and its a totally diffent look and feel.
-
While you're on the topic of rubber straps, where can I get a good price on a gen rubber strap?
The one that comes with the Carrea Racing Chrono is pretty stiff.
I've tried the gen on at Macy's ($2300.00) and that strap has a much better feel; it very pliable, and molds snugly to your wrist.
-
I have a Carrea Racing Chrono from King. I'm very happy with it. No problems except that it looks better on large wrists. My wrist is thin. Still a very nice watch.
I'm thinking about getting a gen leather or rubber strap for it.

Congrats to your Carrera Racing. Got one myself and is very happy with it. Take it easy with the Chrono though, not good to play around with.
Now post some pics!
On the way.

The watch took about 5 days to arrive. King is a good dealer to do business with; I will definitely order from her again. The shipping was free; that in itself saves about $25 to $30 USD.
Anyway here it goes:
The watch arrived in a brown package and inside there was a styrofoam rectangular box with an upper and lower half sealed with a tan plastic tape. When the tape was removed and the two halves of the box separated, the watch was inside a zip-lock bag and that was wrapped in bubble wrap. I was impressed by the packaging as I never received anything packaged like this from from the other approved dealers on the board.
The watch was flawlessly polished. I can't detect any defects on the dial front, or back. Its exquisite for a rep.
The black rubber strap is a little stiff in comparison to the gen I tried on at Macy's, but its not that bad.
I don't know what to say about the date font. Maybe someone on the board can tell me if has the right date font or not when I send in some pics.
All of the chrono functions work. The start-stop pushbutton is a little stiff when operating, but it works. The reset pushbutton works well also. The red chrono hands line up perfectly when reset.
I can't see any irregularities in the major or minor graduations, or the numbers on the sub-dials and main dial. The dial detail and engraving on the back is remarkable.
I'm sure when I send some pics, a few things will be pointed out by better trained eyes.
I hope the sapphire crystal lives up to its reputation for being scratch resistant because I'm not accustomed to having a large dial on my wrist; I already rubbed up against a shopping cart, and other things in the super market this evening.
All-in-all, I'm very satisfied, and I can be very picky when it comes to detail, no matter what it is.
Pics to follow.

HaHaHa! Who ever wrote this article missed his calling in life. He can read minds, psychoanalyze, and probably thinks he's a renown authority of the human psyche....... but he won't stop me from buying a good rep.
-
I'm sure, as someone has already mentioned, that there are enough reps purchased among the members in this forum where we can save $$$ through buying from one another.
-
There is some, and I say some level of justification to some of the price hikes we're seeing and it could be due to the level of sophisticated precision equipment required to make reps with the level of detail that rivals the gen. I'm sure this equipment is costly and the cost gets passed down to the consumer.
I'm sure watch makers can satisfy the markets complaints by re-tooling and making sub-standard watch parts to lower manufacturing costs.
I wouldn't want to see that happen.
Let's all hope its tied to the value of the dollar. When its hopefully gets stronger, maybe we'll see a more reasonable pricing structure.
Wishful but its a thought.

That looks really really nice, pm is sent to Jakub *g*
I assume you did double ar? And how long have you had your link? A7750 working well?
What was the turnaround time? He's in Poland, right?
-
BTW, I would also suggest to change the SSB in the Carrera racing to the black rubber. I purchased this watch with the SSB (the dealer convinced me although I preffered the rubber) but the quality of the SSB is no near the watch itself: the links are thin with wide gaps betweem them, which gives the bracelet a cheap look and feel. If you try a gen SSB at AD you can see the difference.
Some people recommended to buy the gen rubber strap and the rep clasp, because the gen clasp is very expensice and they claim the gen strap is more flexible and feels better. I have only the rep rubber, it's quite OK but I did not try the gen.
I read on this forum that the gen rubber strap is about $150.00. Ouch!!!

You don't have to do anything, but the DW swap is a big improvement
As for the AR on the Tag Link, I was unable to see the case back, as I did not ask to handle the Tag, but I do know that AR improves any watch and really makes the dial stand out, well worth doing
Maybe K2222 (Jakub) is still doing special offers for members who sign up as supporters of the forum? Might be worth looking into
I'll contact him. Thanks.

Only the new Link Chrono (with numbers on the bezel) has AR. It also has transparent glass caseback.
The older model (which the rep is made of) definitely DID NOT have any kind of AR.
I ordered a Carrea Racing Chrono from King. Will I have to mod the date wheel and movement to ETA?

Your most welcome
You have been around a while topgun, your post count ratio is not that high though! (0.01 per day)
Good to see you active on the boards more
I'm starting to build a rep collection now so I'll be posting more to get more education from the forum.
-
Coo, installing a DW is tricky stuff indeed, dial and hands have to be removed and more, not something I would suggest people try....
-
Jakub should have the ETA DW's, otherwise you can get them here: http://www.cousinsuk.com/
Part = VAL775025571BW3: Valjoux 7750 Date Indicator 3 o'clock Black Numbers on White Background
I have worn the rep Carrera too, and found the SS bracelet a bit poor quality, and the rubber did not fit my wrist well (6.5") Leather was really comfortable....
Cheers!
Where can I buy a good leather racing strap for my Carrea Racing Chrono?

As some of you may know, RWI (the Dark Side) has just taken action against the two largest dealers on any of the forums, Josh and Andrew. Although this issue has gotten little to no attention over here, I believe this is something that has an impact on every forum member. The nutshell version is that Andrew was caught, red-handed, trying to intimidate another dealer into raising prices of certain reps. When the dealer refused, Andrew responded by saying that he would make sure the factory did not supply any more reps to this dealer. Andrew and Josh were given an opportunity to respond, and refused to do so. As a result, we were forced to remove their sections.
What follows is the message that was posted on RWI concerning our reasons:
Due to evidence brought forth to the staff of RWI, both Josh and Andrew's sections on RWI have been closed. The discussions and polling on these matters may be seen in the following threads.
http://replica-watch.info/phpBB3/viewtopic...f=1&t=41999

Andrew has not seen fit to respond or provide any answers on the subject other than to deflect the issue and claim that dealers are conspiring against him. Josh and Andrew have always been viewed as one and the same due to their close connection and business partnership. Thus, we have made the decision to sanction both of them at this time.
We have not made this decision easily as these two dealers have been mainstays of RWI. This decision was made due to a concentrated effort by these two dealers to obstruct other valued dealers and, ultimately, you the member from obtaining replicas at a fair price. They have sought to control the market and intimidate other dealers into raising prices.
Others (whether they be members here or on the other forums) will laugh and think that we are silly... They will say that we are shouting at the rain and that we can't change anything... Maybe they are right but our purpose in this world is to bring you, the member, the safest and best replica hobby experience we can...
You may not agree with our decision, but please respect that we have made this decision with your best interests at heart.
We hope that the closing of their sections is not permanent and that they will respond to us and the topics at hand can be mediated. Until then, their sections will remain closed with this message there.
Has RWG banned Joshua and andrew from the site? I still see them listed on the Forum as Dealers.

Thanks! That was a lot easier than I expected
I wish I read this thread before I broke the clasp handle on the datejust I bought my wife. I had the exact same problem.
The crown is extremely difficult to pull out also. Anything I can do for that?
