  1. Well, that place is an obvious rippoff/scam. You can do much better with the dealers here. With that said, you should have your expectations in check. That full rose gold watch is a nice watch, but if you wear it every day the gold will wear through. You should probably pick up a nice steel watch to wear every day and pick up that Rose Gold one for special occasions. Just my opinion but I've got a really nice day-date in RG and I leave it in a drawer most of the time because noone would believe I wear a $20K watch everyday, and I want to keep the plating in good shape for the good occasions to wear it. Just my opinion.
  2. I guess the point is go with what looks right. As long as you stay out of an AD, you will be fine. What does someone at a kiosk care? $10 is $10 right?! Who cares if its the usual Fossil or your UPO.
  3. I am lucky enough that there is a small independent "full service watch repair" place at the local grocery store. An older chinese woman runs it and it's basically a few display cases with bands and straps and all her tools are right there on benches. She's been there for about five years now. Every time I bring in a rep she says the same thing - "Beautiful Watch". When she is done doing whatever it is I need she says "real one is easier to do." And that's it. I don't mind taking my reps there because I'm buying groceries anyway and it's a whopping $7.00 to have her re size the band. I have some cheap tools to do this myself but I always seem to scratch something. She never scratches anything, and it takes her all of 30 seconds. She advertises movement repairs too, and I may take her up on that soon. That would be the real test.
  4. Well, I can tell you that I ran into the first version of this site back in, must have been 2004, and it saved my a** from spending too much on a scam site. The reps I bought back then from the trusted dealers on this board have served me well until now. I recently rejoined here to get some new watches and many of the same dealers that were trusted 5 years ago are still around. Many of the same people are still posting here. Secondly, if this whole site is one big scam I am pretty impressed. There are thousands of members here, posting everything from how to take apart, upgrade, and service your watches to pictures of their hometowns, jokes, etc. This is truly a community dedicated to enjoying replicas. Everyone here could care less if you think its a scam or not. The fact that you or other people stumble on here and realize they've been duped or almost duped is pure coincidence. I can san that I've bought about 10 reps or so from sellers here and I have never felt I was shafted on a transaction.
  5. It's been a long time since I've posted - probably a few years. It's good to be back.
