  1. Based on Francisco's mod I got it done on my B01:

    And on my PAM250:

As you can see, the 250 was since sold to someone else.

It's a great mod and a good alternative to doing a 7753 swap or something like that. What you need is a watchmaker who is able and willing to do it though, and that's not easy to find (it's very fiddly and time consuming). My watchmaker has said no more!

  2. Sorry if I mixed it up, It's a 7750 DW from Taka I got. According to blackbard, it should work fine on a 7753, but Drulee say it won't???

Can anyone say it for sure?

Thanks for the dial tip, I'll send Hont and Robert a mail and if I get my hands on a 7753 dial I just might me ready to take the plunge, and buy a 7753 movement :)

But I don't like the sounds of bertieng's trouble...

Sorry for taking so long to respond... had forgotten about this thread.

The 7750 DW will definitely NOT fit the 7753 movement. Completely different size.

  3. I have a very nice DW from Taka at RWI, and the 7753 is not that hard to find, just a matter of getting the right price ;-) But thanks for the offer.

It looks like the hard part here, is to find a dial to fit the 7753. A shame that they are so rare, couse it seems like they are in high demant. How come none of the dealers have had some made, they would be gone in 60 sec?

I tryed to write Francisco after reading his great tutorial A Solution to the Sunken DW of the Asian 7750, but he wasn't taking new customers for that mod :-(

I thought Taka didn't have any 7753 DWs yet... How did you get one? Or is it the 7750 you got?

As for the dial for 7753, I got mine from Hont last year. Drop him an email. Also, Robert (T4D or PWC) might have one.

  4. So is the immediate conclusion that it's just ok, rather than good or great? Could you perhaps point to a different rep that you feel is comparable in quality, to give us some perspective?

Tough question... maybe the early BCEs? Or the Blackbird, which is a great rep but has a number of obvious flaws... It's also hard to discriminate between problems in the rep and problems in the basic design of the watch. For example, the way the bracelet meets the case is odd... the pearl is huge... the DW font is a joke... but all these are design issues of the gen. I guess on the rep the DW is the immediate tell and the reason why this is never going to be a "super rep". But I should also clarify that I am a DW nazi! The slightest flaws in the DW drive me insane. Others may be ok with it. Perhaps the crown and pushers are where the rep build quality shows. And the watch doesn't have that glossy shiny blingy look of the gen that I have seen at the ADs... But perhaps that's due to the crystal, the steel and the finish... Look, it's hard to tell. There are some watches that you pull out of the package and you just go "hoooooly shiiiit!" the same way many of us did when we first heard The Dark Side of the Moon... With others you just go "that's nice!". It's a personal thing. With this one I was more in the latter category.

  5. Just received mine in black. Here's a quick wristie. It looks and feels ok, and they did a pretty good job with the dial. The recessed DW is visible but not a huge problem as the DW is black and so is the dial. The lume is not too crap either. The build quality is ok. I have to compare the bracelet carefully when I have some time...

  6. AP. I thought I would never buy one and then I did. I went for some really expensive ROO ultimate whatever edition. Opened the package, slapped it on the wrist, looked at it for a minute... and threw it back on the forum for sale almost immediately. They're just nasty silly looking things.

Similar thing happened with Hublot. I swore I'd never buy one. But when I did and the HBB arrived, my jaw dropped. Stunning!!

  7. I believe it will have a sunken datewheel, It will be the same movement which is used on PAM250 and HBB's

Don't beliebe they developed a new movement :yuk:

How crap... sunked DW is a no no in my book. The only thing that would irritate me more than a sunken DW is herpes.

Anyway, let's wait and see... As you know, guru, our watchmaker is refusing to raise any more DWs for me!!

  8. Guys let's all remember that the OP opened this thread simply to discuss his concerns regarding the use of raffle profits. That was his question. And we already heard from LOS. This is not about RWI being down, the reasons why LOS left, the quality of RWI or its members, or whatever else. Let's not bundle those together please.

    wait... did some1 say midgets????

    Midgets?? Where??? :Jumpy:
