  5. and then all a sudden from out of nowhere the sound of the king sir eddie...i swear!! the rumors had come so furious so fast..... they spread thru the kingdom that his light had been past... the truth shown forth like the noon day sun... "the return of sir edward" rwgs' anointed one!" no... he was not gone not absent for good his reason for going was mis..understood! "ED WILL BE BACK"! thundered the admins' voice "he is only away for a season ...his choice" what else can i say bout the king of all reps... you boys from china be watching your steps cause elvis has not left the building at all we'll soon see him back maybe spring or.....this fall!
  6. This is what we ....WILL GET...when the old fellers are gone. The eddie lees and neils told you like it was because their primary purpose was not volume....volume...volume. I am not looking at any particular dealers i am looking at the volume attitude and with that comes need...need ...to keep prices low and profits high and whatever it takes to keep this mission on track. unfortunately you start to deal with "machines" instead of men. and that takes away from the intimacy of the business and also leads to degregation of quality over time. over time is over the time it takes to get rid of the small guys. then the machines kick in and become boss!....and move the market as they desire... the little guy has to get smaller and smaller to compete and the big guy has to get bigger and bigger to kill ....ALL THE LITTLE GUYS. then it is reap and weep!
  7. Sir edward sir edward wont you come back to the forum that sports... many noobys on "crack" I remember like a genie you would answer your mails and sell a great watch with a bivy of tales stories of conquest in a jungle of bars as you told of your exploits in the back of your cars how many women did you actually do..? was it equal in number of watches customs let thru... or were you really a lonesome outlaw and the love of your life every watch that you saw... we will miss you dear friend for the son has gone down the legend of watchdom has relinguished his crown and so we are left with the new generation to carry on your heart to the rep federation and as we recieve our wonderful toys we all raise our glass to your legacy of boys try as they may to carry your light it will never be the same it will never be right.

  9. So you think what you paid for it is worth it? I am assuming it was in the 300 range right? THis is a perfect example of paying a little more for a rep well crafted!!

Also i would add to this great advice....buy these gold watches for special occasions only to make them last and look good. In otherwards wear them sparingly and with a purpose in mind because over time they sort of lose their luster. So if you buy a tt gold....wear it ...not so often..i have 3 tt watches i have had for 3 years and because i dont wear them much they still look good ....as gold
  11. Hello...any oneone at home in your head?! Am i talking about scam sights or am i in the matrix?
  12. Oh you caught me?! You are such a sherlock. So my message is pay a decent price and give lenders a reasonable profit and you twist me to mean....To quote your words:"you have to be a dealer shill. No one would insist so much that we "buy now" "spend lots""...Ofcourse that is not what i am saying....I have bought plenty of watches from dealers for over 1 yr now and i have a pretty good right to put my 2 cents in as i don't say much on this board. the problem is it is a no brainer to detect a swiss movement from a asian and to accuse dealers of lying about it after they have proved themselves over time shows how guys with that bend absolutely have japanese movements in their head.
  13. Microwave mentality...your getting what you want now for a low price. I promise the paradigm will shift over time. Get good now get worse later
  14. 100.00 profit or less per watch aint worth the trouble...i hope you guys who demand excellence at a bottom dollar price are happy with ANOTHER veteran craftsman being gone. always critisizing arbitrarily the prices and demanding that the very hand that feeds you not get fed. the only power your tongues have is to drive The Godfather of watches away Who is next?
  15. Steve....great! see whats happening is the people are expecting extreme accuracy and low cost. so what do the factories do. generation 1...generation 2....generation3...until you have...ie the "ultimate" po. or the "perfect t best rolex" or the new breitling steel fish with a little something off that is going to be eclipsed by the "superior steelfish" but look...the current steel fish is really good because it costs more....so i dont see near as many generations coming out. it is better to get less watches and pay for better art...but that is just me i quess Jeff
  16. I dont think people understand how hard it is to rep a watch. I dont think people understand that a rep watch is a piece of art. you are not buying a watch when you buy a rep...you are buying pieces of hi tech art and the more you pay of art the better the product...its just a fact. some people want cheap watches to impress the public or to some how sniff out a women as if a watch can get a guality gal. others want growing accuracy and realize that paying 250 is not going to get the best......art
  17. your standards are wayyyyy too low! you like the sort of ok reps. the kind of reps that make you keep buying another generation rep of the same type. if guys would pay 350 and expect quality instead of cheap there would be NOT 4 generations of watches. see in the long run you pay 3 times as much for the "ever increasing accuracy" of the watch
  18. It does sound contradictory. The customer wins a cheaper product. He looses quality... and that is exactly why we are fighting the dealers today. In order to keep volume up and to deliver cheap product, quality is starting to suffer and dealers are having to compromise accurate reporting. Thus the customer who wants cheap wins and the customer who demands quality pays extra and gets it. customer wins always...if he wants cheap ..he gets cheap product... if he wants quality .....he pays for it and wins. if we start paying 350 per piece maybe we have to buy less quantity.... then the factories are trained to pump out quality. If we want to pay 200 bucks for watches..... they have to pump out more crap to hit their lick! Either way we win...more cheap watches for cheap people and more quality watches for those that command quality...cant really have both. Never will be the case unless you wait and buy your watches on the clearance rack ...and that is the key to this hobby. Buy the quality watches cheap by waiting for the newness of it to die down.
  19. diamonds on SS. Thats like having a solitare diamond glued to a paper engagement ring
  20. Actually the consumer does win. Thats why the little guy goes out of business. The problem is that the stuff gets cheaper and not better. By forcing the good guys out by cutting their profits the big guys are left standing with their lower prices and cheaper quality goods. The reason why they are big is because it is all about the money and volume. When we drive the great little guys out by shopping the volume guys ...quality will go down to keep prices low so profits can be obtained by volume selling.
  21. Ok...I am convinced somewhat at what you guys are saying. there has got to be, though, a balance where we give and also buck up. It is good to recognise that there is a reason why Eddie and River and even neil seem to be gone or not around much. They are the guys that in the past sold watches in high 3's and 4's plus. When people like Josh came around, they became sort of the walmart to us. We could now buy great product for good prices. The danger is that there are several "walmarts" now and the little shops are getting hammered and bailing out. If these new guys can make profit by volume ....great...but if they cant then they will collapse and the LONG HAUL LITTLE GUYS like river and eddie will be gone. My concern is that the new guys, "the Walmarts", have been in business for a relatively short time. this is why you got to let them make a decent profit.
  22. Those are nice watches pug! I have to admit a great deal! now....take you a piece of paper and do your best to print OMEGA or BREITLING on it, and put it under the crystal or (mineral glass). And that is not worth to you another 150.00 ?...come on.... the planet ocean is no super ocean as it is on the clearance rack! Ofcourse it is going to be cheaper than the newest item on the market. That is really why the prices are higher on these things ...and ofcourse it will lower over time.
  23. Awesome...now you go buy one of those watches...does seiko have a swiss movement? They are not what you want to buy are they? and the reason why is that the REP S.O. is an awesome catch and you want it on the cheap. So guys like you choose to put down dealer prices so you can get what you want without any problem.
  24. the watch is 308...the shipping is 30... i dont wear shipping on my wrist ..i wear watches...the 308 i quoted is for the watch and i was correct.
  25. Have'nt you heard?!...Eddie is now driving to each customers house and personally delivering your watch to you. This ofcourse includes a free meal for two to outback steak house.
