How did the repair go?
I've got a SOSF that just got stuck (dropped it and now the minutes hand is out of wack and hitting the sec/hours hands) was going to crack it open and see where that got me but if there's a decent guy in Melbourne I'd be willing to make the investment....
I'm in Cheltenham but work in Docklands/City
It's been 10 days since my last email from Ruby, she's been paid now for about 4 weeks and has yet to post the watch.
We had been communicating fairly frequently 1 or 2 times a week, until 10 days ago and I haven't heard anything, is this normal ?
First time dealing with her, or any Rep dealer for that matter...

How about this one ? It was originally offered but I was set on the black :-)
Looking at the 2 photos now you can REALLY see the difference in the lens.
For my first purchase I've been looking at the Pam 092:
Movement Asian 21J Automatic movement
Bracelet/Strap Black Rubber
Case Brushed Stainless Steel
Dial Black
Bezel Unidirectional Rotating Bezel
Numerals Luminous Stick & Numerals
Date at 3:00 window
Case Dimensions 44mm x 16mm
Crystal Synthetic Sapphire
Buckle Deployment Clasp
Water Resistant Yes
Warranty 6 Months
Just a couple of questions for the knowledgeable members of this forum:
a) that is the water resistance like on this model?
are their certain issue with this model?
Previously I was set on the SOSF and just before buying I was told about the AR issue on the Asian's, after searching through the forums I hadn't heard about this issue, it wasn't until I posted pics of the watch that was about to be shipped was I informed to this problem. Are there any such issues with this model?
c) for a first purchase is this a decent one? I know it is subjective but I want a decent out of the box watch and not something that will need heavy modifications
Any input is appreciated

Well that sucks :-)
I did do a bunch of reasearch and the pro's/cons's on the asian v. swiss all revovled around the movements, this is the first time I have heard about the bodies being so different as well. Wonder if it's too late to upgrade, cause I really like the black...
I dont understand what you mean by "You had to go for a white one if you ordered the asian version (because of AR)!"
I was actually offered a white one, but I wanted the black as I already have a few white/silver faced watches
After much to'ing and fro'ing I have finally received soem pictures of the my first rep. How does it look? I've asked for a better photo showing the pearl as it seems a bit off in the photo's. What does the forum think of it? Is replacing a pearl on a SOSF doable? I've found many instructionals on replacing a Rolex pearl but nothing on a SOSF.
Thanks
Newbie Alert :-) I have spent a good few days researching the various forums and this question isnt readily answered that I have found.
I've been trolling the forums and reading the reviews but I still have some base questions regarding the difference between the 2 movements.
Is it really worth the cost difference? 2$08 - 3$28 is pretty steep markup, will the Swiss ETA last that much longer or is the movement just 'better".
Also has the CHS issue been solved, all the reviews I have read indicated that the CHS Asain/Swiss had issues...
Thanks

I'm in Melbourne too, just joined up after lurking for a few months, thinking about the new GMT II Ceramic but am not too sure about which movement to get, any suggestions?
Also any ideas on a good repairer in Melb?
