  1. Maybe you shouldn't pull it so hard....................Sorry i couldn't resist.

But seriously, I don't have the IWC, but i notice on many ETA reps the stem (which is the clinical term for the shaft) wobbles a bit on some watches. I also notice that the dial also wobbles. Sometimes it is the whole movement that is loose inside the case thus making the entire inside of the watch wobble.

  2. I think all the dealers should forget about paypal and othere online payment processors. In my business the average deal is around $20,000 and all of my business is over the phone. I used card services aka linkpoint for my processing. They have a portal on the internet to process credit cards and electronic check drafts. I have had a lot of charge backs over the years. Card services notifies you of the chargeback and gives you 10 days to respond. As long as I provide them proof of shipment the chargeback is reversed immediately. Furthermore, real credit card processing companies rarely freeze your account. They may freeze the amount in question but allow you to continue doing business. Also the fees range from 1.5% to 3% and it is easy to get a merchant account for an average sale of around $1,000.

I hope you didn't make a mistake by signing those affidavits though TTK. Paypal are real scumbags and they have you by the balls now. They have no regard for anyones business or money.

  3. I picked up a used two tone Rolex with an oyster bracelet no date slate dial for about $1200. Came with box and papers. Took it to my watch guy and had it polished and overhauled. She got a brand new watch and it was way under $2K. She wears it every day she isn't wearing the White gold pearlmaster I got her from River. Both very nive for women.

  4. I have been more worried about wearing genuine watches. My close friends know that over the last 10 years I have owned hundreds of watches most fake. When I started wearing genuines nobody believed me. Kind of ironic. No one ever asks if my watch is real or fake. Most acquaintences assume i am wearing the real thing because of the way I carry myself and my wardrobe which consists of $100++ tommy bahama and nat nast silk shirts and slacks as well as $400 + exotic skin loafers. Not to mention genuine diamonds and gold.

If I was to get called on my watch however, I would simply say "amazing what they are doing nowadays isn't it"?

  5. I would assume this guy knows more than you would think especially if he used the exact term "rep" or "replica". In the 15 or so years i have been wearing replica watches I hae never heard someone use the term rep or replica. They usually say is tha watch "real" or "fake" or knockoff.

As for the weight issue, I have had a few genuine vintage rollies. They were definately much lighter. I had an 18K president with bark finish made in 1981 and my ss pres rep was a little heavier. I also bought a genuine riveted bracelet for my pn daytona and it was very flimsy.

So this guy either doesn't have a clue or is a member here.
