  1. If you are lucky, they will just kick you out of the store with your watch, and you will never be welcome there again, or, they will just keep the watch, and they will tell you, "we keep the watch, or we call the police, decide". Sure you will leave, but you will loose $300-$400.

Not illegal to own reps here in AU either...

  2. Here's the only shot worth capturing... telling Sebastian of Sebastian's Restaurant in L.A that he's a "Fake Chef". Maybe he means "Replica Chef"

I judging by the last 2 screen shots... I think Victoria's got it, it looks like an Asprey chronograph. Look at the pushers and the lugs on the shot above. Then again... they don't look like arabic numbers, they look like normal rectangular hour markers.

  3. Do you remember your very first reps? Do you still have them? DO they still run?

Here are some of mine... I remember when these 99.99% 1:1 reps used to make me so happy. :lol:I guess we're only human, always wanting more. ;)

Omega GMT... this was a real gem, I didn't realise how lucky I was when I owned this rep, I sold it cause I was in financial need at the time. :( I bought it for peanuts when I was in Jakarta, so I thought reps like that was aplenty. I've owned and handled many Omega reps... there is no other one like this. The feel of the case... the bracelet looks and feel absolutely like a genuine. It had a swiss movement (2892, I think? GMT hand just a 24 hour indicator). The lume was SENSATIONAL, the best I've seen on ANY rep. All I needed was the white box on the date window and a gen seconds dial... and I would have had my holy grail. See for yourself... lots of pics.

Man... my photos sucked back then. Maybe cause my camera sucked too... :pAny excuse will do.

I still have all of these except for the Corum and GMT. They all still run. ;)

    Thanks for looking...

  4. Thanks for the info. Which crystal do you think is more accurately shaped to the gen - Davidsen's or the standard? I assume both casebacks are 117?

They both have DSN crystal... but from memory I think the standard's got a more accurate distortion. But the standard is mineral glass and there were a few reports of crystals exploding, that's why I bought DSN thicker sapphire crystal to replace the standard.

TeeJay is correct... the DSN is 0117, Andrew's is 0581.

  5. The one with the grey "Luminor Panerai" is clearly a Davidsen. Is the other one another davidsen or a 4rth generation from the standard rep dealers? I am working on a longer term Fiddy project and am trying to assemble the best parts.

Yes, you are right... both "ultimates", the other one with the dark strap originally from Andrew. Both purchased around middle of last year.

As you can see... Andrew's has a more accurate dial and better sandwich. It's accurate except for the 4 seconds markers, should be longer and thiner like DSN's.

DSN's got a better movement though:

Comparison with Andrew's hybrid "Chiss" (Chinese + Swiss) movement. The main difference is under the balance wheel:
