  1. They both wear roughly the same in terms of size and are great quality reps.

Agree they are great quality but they definitely do not wear the same.

The available AP ROO chronos are 42mm and the Diver is 44mm AND flatter.

It wears unmistakably larger for sure.

  2. I noticed there was also a $800 version that would include the carbon parts. That would solve the issue in No.1 i presume? If No.2 is a issue on all APs then thats not a issue to me -

No.5 i presumed that was the case - i dont expect the hundred dollar movement in the rep to match the complexity of a 45k watch.

Now my worry is no.4. cause $2 worth of quarters is a fair bit. And i presume the gen is the heavier one? Another concern is on No.3 - im looking at the pictures side by side and they look close to spot on?

    1. Yes that Puretime $800 version comes with the specialty parts installed.

    2. Not an issue on ALL APs, Just Royal Oak Offshore Chronographs. Most notably the V3 AP Diver lacks all these flaws because obviously it is not a Chronograph.

    3. I don'texpect to have a 7750 look like a AP cal. 3126/3840 either. Hence why I prefer my APs with closed casebacks.

    4. Yes the Gen is much much heavier than the rep. Anyone familiar with gold or precious metals can quickly make that distinction in the hand. Make sure not to take it off :)

    5. Rest assured the subdials are off. With all the previous mentioned tells though not really a big deal.

  3. I have heard a variation of this story...

A friend knew a fellow from China that lived in NYC who sent him all kinds of stuff for 4 or 5 years...designer style handbags, cheapo fashion watches, jewelry etc...no replica trademark items but he could get them.

My friend visited him twice in NYC and made the rounds with him to meet other dealers etc. The fellow was in his late 20's.

About two years ago the fellow said he was going back to China for a month and while he was there, his 'Uncle' called and said the guy fell and broke a leg (true or false?) and would be gone about three months instead of one.

He came back to NYC after a few months and then got harder and harder to get on the phone.

Finally, no answers or call-backs at all. Total silence.

My friend called the 'Uncle' and asked what happened.

His answer was that the fellow got killed in China in a car accident (BMW this time) and he would be taking orders from now on.

Later on as he got to know the Uncle, the Uncle said this is how they 'retire' from the business...claim to go DOA in an accident of some sort and break all ties with customers. If they go back in business, they start fresh with a new name etc.

The 'Uncle' is still Ok in NYC and answering his phone as of last Friday...we talked to him.

How did we get in contact with the first NYC guy to start with?

Paid $500 for the phone number and a reference to someone who did business with him.

About 7 or 8 years back we got to know 'a guy' who sold nib genuine Seiko 5, Orient, and Eta 2836-2 Oniss watches by paying up the same way (but less). Iirc the Seiko 5 were $40, the regular Orients were $35, the 50 year calendar Orients were $55, and the Oniss were $75. The Oniss were styled after the rolex prez.

ETA 2836-2 powered watch for $75?

    Very hard to believe.

  4. Yeah, the movement and clearcase back certainly is a easy tell. Nothing can be done about that haha. The carbon parts look close enough to gen doesnt it?

However, i was more unclear about the actual appearance of the face of the watch. Is it pretty much in line with the gen? Not too sure what you mean by differences in offset pushers and date depth.

It is a larger than normal offshore i understand - and seems like 44mm is as per actual.

It is the right overall dimension. And the Grand Prix's are a special edition and retail at 45k in gold or higher in platnum. The date and the offset pushers relates to the fact that the gen uses a chrono module on top of a base movement. As a result the crown sits below the pushers. The 7750's are a unified movement so the pushers and crown line up. On the date it is simply that the date is placed a little differently on a 7750 rather than on the gen or equivalent LWO 283 ETA movement. Both the gen and the LWO 283 use the same DD chrono module. The ETA version uses a 2892 as the base.

    1. The fake carbon parts that come stock on the watch are atrocious. There is only one aftermarket option available and the parts are an extra $200+.

    2. The difference in the Pushers and DW is a question of millimeters. The pushers are mounted flush on the rep when on the gen the crown position is much lower. The DW on the gen has a sunken in effect due to the unorthodox movement. This is why the gen needs a mag cyclops on the dial. The DW looks very deep inside the watch. The Rep is also thicker by 2-3mm. These are tells that most likely will never go away.

    3. The color on the dial, specifically the subdials on the Grand Prix are visibly off a few shades.

    4. The weight of the watch is far, far off from the gen. The difference would be about $2 worth of U.S. quarters in your hand.

    5. A gen AP ROO hasn't used a LWO 283 in years, they are all in-house now. Movement looks far from the gen.

    6. The Grand Prix series is listed as 42mm but wears a lot more like 44mm.

If you care about having a 95%-99% close rep in terms of accuracy, look elsewhere.

If you want a show stopper and don't care about the tells then highly consider it.

The AP RG Rubberclad is also another stunning AP I can recommend for your consideration. It also has a closed caseback.

  5. Adriano Goldschmied, these are 10x more comfortable than my Diesels imo.

Diesels and Guess premium are flashier but around 2x the price.

AGs are the high quality stuff for around $175, can't be beat.

  6. I heard rumor that a new SD will be out soon? I hope so. I have an old one, and desperately waiting for a really accurate one. I like how the SD doesn't have an ugly cyclops like the sub.

I don't think thats true unless its from a specialty maker like TC.

  7. They are both equally well made.

The Panda I believe comes on the very good SS bracelet, the Rubberclad has the rubber bezel on a rubber strap.

    Your preference really.

If I were in the market for a ROO I'd have the Rose Gold Rubberclad. Absolutely stunning watch in the flesh.

  8. A Lange & Söhne rep is virtually the only rep I would never ever buy or wear. I´m too much

a watch fan, the fantasy designs never attracted me, nor cheap rep quality.

And, Lange watches are quite unique by many meanings, they simply cannot be repped.

It is impossible, unless they buy a real one, dissect it, and do what they make with much

simpler watches. If anybody would try a 1:1 rep, it would cost a fortune.

There are real gold (and other precious metal) reps out there, but usually not the ones

    with complications.

Go to a Lange TD and try one on, or just have a look. You´ll see and feel what I mean.

Maybe in many years, if I decide to spend $50´000 for a single watch instead for a car,

it will be a Grande Lange 1. I don´t like anything below 42mm anymore.

The 41mm Datograph is a closed caseback away from 'Super Rep' status.

    Just sayin'.

  9. The V2 PloProf is the most accurate Omega.

It is 1:1, It feels like a $10k dive watch.

The fit and finish and materials are OUT OF HAND.

Just the clasp will humble any rep hater and convert him into a rep owner.

Men will want to be you and Women will want to be with you.

    Buy it. Buy it now.

  10. You probably need to send it out to a Trusted rep friendly watchsmith.

There are a few methods to tighten bezels, but if you claim that your once unidirectional bezel is now bidirectional it sounds like its going to take more tools than just dental floss.

Posting pictures of your own watch or maybe even a video would not hurt though.

  11. That is not an Ingy.. That's what I call a fake piece of garbage..

    LOL, get a clue bro.

Go tell your gen buddies that we're picking up more girls with these fakes than they are with their safe queens.
