This is clearly not the case.

    http://www.artisanplating.com/articles/platingthick.html

    5 mil x 25.4 microns / 1 mil = 127 microns

The "thickest" gold plating standards set by the federal trade commission is called "heavy gold plate" which is 2.5 microns thick. If trusty's watches are 127 microns thick of x carats of gold, then they're 51 times thicker than the thickest gold plating standards set by the FTC...

At a very minimum, I think the trusted dealers should get their units of measurement right. Or they could just say "Hey, we don't actually know how thick it is, but we're told its thick!"

Not entirely correct. 1 micron is 1/1000th of a millimeter, so, 5 microns would be 5/1000 of 1 mm. Gov't standard for "heavy" plating is 2,5 mictons and 5 microns.

  2. Funniest part is that Luthier came here as an immigrant and now want's to deny everyone else the same opportunities.

Wrong, KGB, I came to US LEGALLY. And yes, I want to deny any opportunity to anyone, who broke our laws. Maybe, you still don't know the difference between legal and criminal?

    Get some education then.

  3. Don't know, where do you live, but US citizens pay $120 for chinese visa, luckily, I also have EU passport, visa cost $90, and no need visa to HK, Thailand, Malaysia, Japan, and many other countries. So, it's very convenient.

    Good luck to you!!!

  4. Funny thing - now Republicans almost agreed to give citizenship to 12 millions of illegals. They forgot (or don't know?), that each of them, according to statistics, will legally bring up to 27 relatives from Lating America, mostly from Mexico. So, bye-bye, Republican Party, bye-bye peace, with about 200-300 millions of "legal" mexicans here, we'll face of civil war, or bye-bye America in general. US will be an appendix of Mexico country. How about that?

  5. OK, first - I don't know anything about transit visa, all I know is - if you don't have proper chinese visa - you'll sleep on the street, because no hotel will admit you without visa. Transit visa do not allow you to leave airport, and you could be arrested, and pay fine (5000 yuan). Second - if you'll ask a taxi driver to bring you to "watch factory" - he'll refuse to work, until you'll give him an exact address. Third - no taxi could bring you to the watch market, they drop you 2-3 blocks before it. Fourth - when you exist GZ International Airport, new one, bot an old Baiyun, which provide only flights inside China, you'll be surrounded by at least 10-15 people, who will offer you "taxi", but they're not a taxi drivers, the line for taxi will be about 100-200 people. If you'll succumb, and take any of these "taxi", they'll ride you for at least 2 hours, and demand at least 400-500 yuan for the trip. Real taxi cost 180 yuan. Best way is to take the bus #4 and go to Dongguan hotel, where you can easily get a taxi to watch market area (if you speak Putong Hua, of course), for about 25-30 yuan. And the last - ecven if you'll reach watch market, and if you're without chinese guide - you'll pay 800-1000 yuan for crappy 21j or quartz watches. Don't even think to find anything with ETA, clones or A7750, it doesn't exist there. Been there dozens of times. Here's a few pictures.

  6. Thanks to everyone.

It was a very difficult task, to find a factory, who would make such a small amount of hard rubber midlinks, so, I wasn't too picky about the color. But I'll definitely will ask, if they can make some dark blue midlinks. About too many polished surfaces - wrong, all the spaces between fins are sandblasted, not polished, and it will give a very nice effect. Bracelet is mostly brushed too. Logo will be smaller, of course.

Original list of buyers will be published, when all watches would be taken, I don't see any reason to post it now, nobody will have any preferences in numbers anyway. So, if somebody want it - PM me. Not many left.
