You can easily see the crown etched at 6 on the crystal. That's a pretty big flaw...

Let me ask a question:
Why go to all the effort, when the rep A7750 case has such issues? Too thick, bezel slope is all wrong, etc.
I've spent quite a bit of time, money, effort and brain sweat on my reps--but I always started with a case that was near perfect. To me, the stuff inside the case can be fixed, but if the case itself is off then there's no point.
That's my line of reasoning anyway. I'd be curious to hear yours, if you want to share, why you've embarked on this project.
It's good stuff though, always interesting to see research and development being done!
This makes a lot of sense. The case does suck. I have a gen Daytona and a friend has a rep, the two are so totally different it's so easy to tell his is a fake. But on the other hand, the R&D is fantastic and quite intriguing! I think you are both correct. If we can start with the basics somehow, the case, correct the very obvious terrible flaws and then move our way into the remedying the movement issues we then can finally win the obstacle of having a beautiful accurate Daytona! Then when that happens and the factories can't make the reps fast enough, we all will take turns and go to China where they owe us a very nice dinner and drinks while we say, "I told you so!" Well maybe the last part will never happen but hopefully one day there will be an accurate daytona rep!

This would be absolutely fantastic if this were in deed true and successful. Will be watching this thread continue...

Looks great. I keep going back and forth on getting one or not

Hey guys I've been reading for hours about the Daytona. I know the secs @ 6 are a time bomb and the secs @ 9's subdials aren't spaced properly but had an observation and question that I couldn't find an answer.
The 21 jewel movement Daytona looks to be thinner than the secs @ 6 rep along with the bezel not having as severe of an angle and overall a pretty decent rep, to my untrained eyes. Is it possible to get a 21 jewel movement rep Daytona and have the large chronograph hand somehow frozen pointing to 12 while the subdial @ 6 still runs?
Please help, thanks guys!

that looks amazing. makes me start to want one

How were the SEL's on the V1?

the rehaut engraving looks like it finally matches up! now ill start to fine one that lines up also

I love the Pam 90 but there are no good reps of it out there. I saw Dluddy's franken and got me thinking. Besides a gen movement, is there a movement out there that will have the date, power reserve, sub secs @ 9 with the correct date font out there? I would love to make this a more accurate rep and need help from the Pam fanatics out there.
Or, does anybody have any idea if the factories are going to start producing a more solid and accurate rep? Thanks guys!

So what all are "flaws" with the new V3? I've read there is a gap with the bracelet and lugs, the crown doesn't touch the case and the bezel paint isn't as smooth. Could any 16610 fanatic please help and advise me? Also, would you rather have the V2 or V3? Thanks guys!

Beautiful looking Daytona's you have there.

Looks great, cant wait to get mine

Thanks for the input guys. I keep trying to get a GOOD RELIABLE rep!! lol PWC sells them to a customer who orders 1000 at a time and doesn't sell them to anybody else, I've tried. El Primero project would just be too much money for me so looks like I'm gonna keep waiting and hopefully they come out with an alternative movement sometime??

I've been reading about quartz movement that beat more than 1 times a second to make them sweep instead of tick. Are there any quartz movements that sweep that will fit with our secs @ 6?
I've spent the last 2 days searching, reading, and looking.
Maybe our pro Ubi can help?!

Ubi is one hell of a guy and knows his stuff. This thread really makes me want to get back into Daytona reps and hopefully get a reliable movement for a Daytona rep
-
For reference, both of my original secs @ 6 Daytonas (nearly 5 & 4 years old now) are still running fine. Though neither sees alot of wrist time.
Freddy, I just decided I want one of your Daytonas that RUN or to fix mine haha!!

Any results? I thought about doing this also
-
I want one..

Secs @ 12 has already been proved to be a fine movement, a reliable movement, IF SERVICED. Ask The Zigmeister, he has said it and when it comes to watch movements, what he says is gold.

seriously, how can any of us concentrate with pics of girls like that lol

keep those posters coming!!

I have one and love it. My dial seems to be pretty dark in color. Has anybody else experienced this?

Is there any news on a possible new version Milgauss GV where the inside engraving matches up like the old version with the strong blue and green lume? I'm starting to really appreciate this watch but the engraving being off will drive me nuts, I'm a picky SOB.
My 5 Rolex + Canon 7D = awesome !
