  1. Beautiful, absolutely beautiful!
  2. Absolutely brilliant work. I am impressed with how well the cyclops integrates with the crystal as well as the overall "gen-like look and feel" of this piece. Congratulations!
  3. Panerai placed a full-page ad on the back cover of the current issue of The New Yorker. Featured watch is a 111G.. Interesting choice considering all of the new models being introduced this year.
  4. This arrived yesterday and will be on my wrist the rest of the week...
  5. I had been researching my first fiddy rep purchase for several months. You know how it goes... you hang out here, ask questions, search past posts and watch the ads. Came close a couple of times, but never pulled the trigger for some reason. Then out of the blue last week I get a text message re. a certain fiddy that was available, my PayPal account was flush (about to be flushed), so I pulled the trigger. The almost is the OEM strap that comes with the gen edition. Found one and will be picking it up this coming weekend. EL case set and a crystal that has very little distortion. The cg required some fine tuning, so I flattened and polished the pin and re-brushed the guard body. Font color is spot on. And the BIG plus... the correct gen movement. I wasn't about to let this opportunity slip through my hands. Here are some quickie point-and-shoots... the sun was setting fast.
  6. Arrived today and will wear it through Sunday. Wears bigger than I thought it would.
  7. Never thought I would start wearing any watch smaller than 44mm, let alone start getting into Rolex. Well I have on both counts... this is my second one and it arrived with my favorite insert installed. So nice that it is available with all 3. Quick wrist shot...
  8. I am on an extra long lunch break right now just so I can stare at these pics again... can't get enough of these 2!!!
  9. I should not have opened this post. I should be at the office by now, but instead I am mesmerized by these vintage pieces. Beautiful work by the Erfurt Combo!
  10. Joshua... the goodwill that you have extended is exemplary! You have done your part in willing to help satisfy the customer, but now the customer needs to do his part to get this matter resolved.
  11. All weekend for this one... newly refinished 001B on a new gator...
  12. Now that's what I call a project. Thank you for the build description. Well done!
  13. Non-matching perfection! Congratulations! Great pics!
  14. RoninQ, gruva and all that responded... thank you for solving this one for me! Now I know exactly what to ask for. I'll let you know if I find a source. Thanks again.
  15. There are no threads in the holes to screw into. That is what's so weird. It's just a hole and the other screws spin freely in both directions, neither getting tighter or looser. So on mine the other screws I haven't been able to remove so I can secure them. Any thoughts on how to remove them so I can glue them down?
  16. Pic shows where the screw came off. When I checked the others to make sure they were secure, I was surprised to find that they all spin freely... they can not be tightened or loosened. This is my first Breitling rep, so I don't know if this is the case for all models. I purchased it from a member. It was a face to face deal with someone I know and trust, so no issues there. Has anyone else dealt with this problem? Since I didn't purchase the watch directly from Josh or Andrew I am hesitant to approach them for spares. Also, how do you attach them as I do not see any threads in the empty hole. Any help with this will be greatly appreciated!
  17. This will set a precedent... please remove this post or transfer it to the appropriate forum. Admins???
  18. Pleasant surprise... after wearing the 6152 for a couple of days, I noticed that it keeps very accurate time. Typically I really don't care how accurate a vintage piece is re. keeping time. For me a watch like this is not a daily wearer at work or for being on time for appointments. But it is nice to know that the movement has been treated very well. Thank you VDB!
  19. Thanks! The strap came with the watch, but I haven't asked VDB if he or someone else made it. It's the thickest strap I have now and also one of the most comfortable.
  20. Yes, this is a gen movement. I believe the cost of a working Angelus movement has been discussed in several threads. The 203 came with the non-alarm version which is quite expensive and even harder to find. I'm not really sure how much a movement by itself would cost as I purchased this as a complete watch and the movement in mine is the modified alarm version. Keep us posted on your 203 project!
  21. This is the vintage from VDB that has changed the way I'm going to collect and build watches. He has created a piece that wreaks authentic down to the smallest detail... a true hommage both in spirit and accuracy. I tried to capture the wonderful contrast between the different metals in the movement (I know that's getting pretty geeky, but to me the Angelus is a thing of beauty). The strap compares very well to several pictured in "Vintage Panerai" and the dial/hands are even more amazing in person. V has taken his craft to an even higher level for 2009... and as evidenced by his latest Cali creation, we are in for some very special treats! Hope you like the pics!
  22. Don't even consider that site... like what bws said, if for no other reason than they're using pics of gen watches. It's your money. Caveat emptor.
