  1. I have added a third chronograph to my collection a 116520, I like them A LOT, even if I have not great, rare movements or in-house for now, I'm really satisfifed with the one I have, they've been running great, beside I never use the chrono, too scared, lol

DW VJ23 copy runs ok for 9 months now, but anything can happen, gen VJ23 ready to be fitted on a VJ72 case soon...

asian 7750 moded (one week old, soooo...I cross my fingers while knocking on wood)

2894-2 module chrono based on the well known 2892 on the monaco, it keeps perfect time

main thing was to add another chronograph with a running second at 6, after one at 3 and one at 9...

I'm very happy with the dial colors of the 116520, it adds diversity to my collection, blue, black and white, I can rotate now ;)

  2. I received this watch this past week with white dial, I think the dial is pretty good, I don't clearly see the spacing difference between the gen and rep.

    29559-184.jpg

the main flaws too me are:

overall thickness to accomodate the 7750

    29559-185.jpg

the pushers are perhaps shapped differently and too close from the crown

    29559-186.jpg

    29559-187.jpg

the crown guards wrongly shapped again but I'm surprised how the crown look good and sharp compared to the previous version I had

bezel certainly too thick and not flat

on the dial: red daytona color, placement

Good point the etched crown on the crystal is there but invisible with the naked eye trust me, I simply couldn't capture it on the pics

I think I gen dial would be great on it but it's rare and expensive, but first thing to do is to reshape CG, I'm still undecided wether to fit or not gen crown and tube...

I saw that gen crystals are on sale on the bay, I don't know if they can be fitted on the rep case?

  3. hmmmm... what if i can source a v72 and decide to use the chronos? would it be worth it then? i mean i would like it to screw down properly regardless...

My advice is to not use the chrono of a 30 YO VJ72 anyway...but again I tend to be very cautious with chronos...

And I don't have any problem with the screw down pushers of my DWs, they screw-down REAL tight!

  4. the venus movement is 14" when the valjoux is 13" so the VJ should fit the venus case, I don't think asymetrical pushers would be problematic, I've seen lemania fitted on DW cases with asymetric pushers...so maybe you could do the inverse swap?

I'd be more concerned about the tickness o both that could make it impossible to fit on the FM case.

  5. I've been looking at this J12 for men too, and for me not for the GF

The biggest flaw to me is the second hand, arrow is too small, round tail too big and the post hole is visible when it shouldn't...

Crown is also more "domed" on the gen...

Overall great looking watch, the band alone made of real ceramic is great with what appear to be Loose End Links when all the other reps are incorrect SELs...

I prefer the rubber strap though...

  6. here is the kind of dream display bos I'd like

there is another seller on ebay germany making carbon boxes but with no OP logo, but less expensive around usd 250-300 for thr 12-16 watches box

but the panny box homer has is damn close of the original ones:

  7. He had to update his DNS record with the root level domain servers. Once you put out your zone files (done a couple days ago) they can take 48 hours to propagate across the web... then the new info will be visible again.

You could bring him up directly by IP address, or wait for the RLDS to get synch'd up, then you can call him up by URL again.

    my head hurts :cc_hang::yuk:

  8. When I look at the close shot of the VJ727 he sells I tought the belveled screw holes were ok compared to the VJ727, but the bridge was clearly wrong, now if all the movement has been modified...the question is were is it too much work to make $16000

I'm scared that this DW bridge wont fit a VJ72 anyway...

  9. On "out of the box" rep I probably won't go anymore above the $500 mark on an excellent rep, but I believe when you start working on a project fraken I can reach a higher mark with no problem, but again that's because I don't see it,as I collect part by part and the 600+usd are spread on a several months span...

Passed the $1000 mark I'm out of the rep world, because I think about the gen I could buy at that price (hell a lot of great vintage are in the $1000 range!) - except perhaps a 16520 franken, but I still think I prefer buying a zenith EP gen...
