  1. Perfect Clones say 24h indicator at 9 and also that it has a working moon phase, so presumably it is adjustable. I've not got the watch, so I can't say for sure of course.
  2. I thought the Longines Master "Eight Needles" was the most complicated rep, with its minutes, hours, day, date, month, chronograph and working moon phase. Quite a good replication too it seems, when comparing with the genuine article.
  3. Too many, way too many for comfort. Breitling SuperOcean Steelfish Breitling SuperOcean Heritage Breitling Navitimer TT Breitling Chronomat ("Rhodium") Breitling Chronomat (Graphite) Panerai 111h IWC Ingenieur UN Marine Chronograph And today: Omega Speedmaster Day-Date Ebel 1911 Discovery Breitling Chronomat (Blue) I blame By-Tor, Phoband et al really. Nothing to do with me.
  4. I'm quite confident that I would last at least 0.376 seconds against Pudzianowski. Even longer if he was blindfolded and I was allowed to wear a Michelin Man suit.
  5. My pleasure entirely mate. Hope you enjoy the watch, whatever you end up with.
  6. If it is within your budget and you like the look of it, I would get the SuperOcean Steelfish deniz. It's less imposing on the wrist than the Skyland family, while still being decidedly beefy and masculine. Add to that the fact that it is one of the best reps out there and you really can't go far wrong. My second choice would be the Chronomat, which is also very well replicated and a very, very nice watch indeed. If you like Breitlings, I'm certain you'll enjoy either of those. If against all odds you don't, they'll both sell fast in the trade section with minimal loss.
  7. Personally I'd never, ever wear it with a suit, but I'd happily wear it with anything else. That's just me though. After all, these days the only rule as far as style goes, is that there are no rules. Depending on which circles you move in of course.
  8. So what's he selling? 155mm howitzers? Aerial recon drones? Waterboarding equipment?
  9. Have a look at this site detailing "The Romantic Road", running from Frankfurt to Königswinkel. Since you're looking for somewhere near Frankfurt, Würzburg ought to fit the bill perfectly.
  10. Breitling changed the SOSF from box to arrow in 2008/9. The -08 catalogue shows the seconds hand with a box, while -09 shows an arrow. Both are equally accurate in other words.
  11. Objectively there is no such thing as objectivity where human beings are concerned. To some a sunken date wheel is a disaster on par with a plague of famished locusts, while others would hardly notice. Some people appear able to tell if the shape of a crown guard is off by a fraction of a micrometer, when I would have sworn on my granny's grave that rep and gen CGs are identical. Also, it's not as if a lot of people own all or several of the top reps and can say which is the better one. Basically, there's probably just Lani. ;-) My votes, from what I own and all I've read, is that the two most accurate offerings are the SuperOcean Heritage and the 1911 Discovery. However, all the ones mentioned are excellent reps, so why not cut an impossible (and frankly quite pointless, since there is no single answer) quest short and just get the one you like best?
  12. Not a very good one though, to be honest. I'm not a great phoneticist by any means, but there are several wrong descriptions in that list.
  13. Very nice, it really doesn't look like the AR on yours is particularly tinted at all. Perhaps it's just luck of the draw? I think I'll probably end up tossing a dice in order to choose the colour, as they're all equally tempting.... After all, there's always Chief's AR and Domenico on this side of the pond. While we're at it, but swapping subject - is it possible to get a leather strap for the Speedmaster and if so, is it the usual awful rep strap quality? Oh, and what is the lug width of the Speedmaster?
  14. Thanks for the technical info Demsey; you confirmed what I thought, but wasn't entirely sure about. If it didn't have the sub-dial layout it does have, there's basically no way I would have considered it, even briefly. I'm fairly up to speed as far as The Zigmeister's and Francesco's movement reviews and recommendations go, so I'm steering well away from "seconds @ 6" and "seconds @ 3" configurations until I hear differently. So far all my watches are working flawlessly and I prefer not to get cocky and push my luck. Where my dealer is concerned, I have as much faith in him as I can have, considering he's sitting at the other end of the world and deals in illegal goods. So far, at least, Tony (@ Asian7750.com) has been a real star and a model of helpfulness. This time I thought I'd split my purchases between him and Mary, which should be an extremely safe bet if the feedback here and my initial impression is anything to go by. As for treating myself...well, I'm very good at that, so Christmas is bound to be merry. Post-Christmas until pay day may be another matter entirely, depending on exactly how nice I am to myself. Time will show. I wish you the same back, as well as a financially carefree time to follow.
  15. Damn, how did I miss that thread... Thanks again mate, very much appreciated.
  16. Very good to hear, thanks for that mate! The decision was actually between the white and the blue versions, so I guess you just made my mind up since presumably the white one would show up the AR colour best (or worst, as the case may be). What colour tint does the AR have by the way? I assume blue? And is it much worse than your other reps?
  17. Either that, or "original (first) post" of the thread. As in "read the f*cking OP before you f*cking post, why don't ya!", when someone jumps in at page 14 of the discussion, without seemingly having a clue what's being discussed.
  18. It certainly does, thanks a lot mate. Since I haven't a clue who that owner might be though, I'll just keep hoping for an owner to see this and respond.
  19. Oi! Surely somebody out there has got this watch and can chime in??
  20. YMMV - your mileage may vary, or in other words - "this is my experience, but for all I know your experience may be entirely different".
  21. It appears a small windfall is heading my way for christmas, which perhaps means that two, rather than one, new reps are called for. I'm seriously considering a Speedmaster Day-Date, but before I decide I'd really like to hear if someone here can give me some input. I know it's supposed to be a good replication (cause By-Tor said so), but I'd be particularly interested to hear from someone who's had one for a while and can say whether it's a reliable watch or not, considering the complications it has. Anybody?
  22. I'm at the very least a semi-noob myself, but I do know some of those: AD = Authorised Dealer SEL = MILF = Mother I'd like to f*ck (not entirely sure where this fits in, in relation to watches...) GEN = genuine (watch) UPO = Ultimate Planet Ocean (the supposedly best replica of the Planet Ocean) ETZ = Eurotimez (an EU based dealer) DSSD = Rolex Deep Sea Seadweller (I think...) SDDS = PT = Precious Time (a dealer) SDS = SMP = Omega Seamaster Professional AR = Anti-reflective coating WTF = what the f*ck? CONUS = Continental US SS = stainless steel PM = personal message (or PM afternoon, but that'd just be too silly I guess) TT = Trusty Time (a dealer) Anyway, a very good idea imo (= in my opinion ). The incessant f*cking use of custom abbreviations is the most insanely annoying thing for a noob as far as I'm concerned, whether here or on any other forum catering to a specialist audience. Someone please, please make an exhaustive list and pin it firmly to the wall in the general section.
  23. I paid via WU when I purchased a watch from PC a while back. Went without a hitch, except for the interrogation by WU ("now, you're absolutely sure you want to send money to China???") before the money were released. Good comms, fast(ish) shipping, flawless product.
  24. Great straps, both of them! I've actually settled on the one with a Breitling deployant as a christmas gift from me to me (well, not your one of course), I just have great difficulty deciding on the finish and where to get it from. Lovely strap on the Seiko as well. Is that a watch that is available now, by the way?
  25. I like lists...can I play too? Very nice site Offshore! I'll certainly head there when I next find I need something, or if I ever pick up the courage to actually open a watch myself (although the last part seems a bit unlikely...).
