  1. By-tor, I have seen a few variants of the vintage diver. Two most common ones that look like that are the quartz version (as pictured - Tag does not write "quartz" on their dial - so assume if there is no "automatic" written, its a quartz) and also the big superdiver (which goes up to 2000 feet i think). The superdiver commands a higher price but the standard version will be around the $300 mark for a decent used one. Alternatively, you can try to source the 1000 series (which is very very similar) and a little cheaper generally. I have the 1000 series version with the luminuous dial, carbon black case - very good condition. May hold on it for a little longer. I also have the 1500 series GMT version too. Good luck with your search
  2. very nice i completed the same project 2 years ago - gen movement, gen crystal, gen bezel, gen crown and tube, but sold it last year. wear it well.
  3. Nice one Triple. The pearl needs to be filled, get that done and its perfect.
  4. I think the ivies already have quite a bit of money - plus maybe its the graduates of ivies that created half of this mess. The donor thought he'll put in some money elsewhere.
  5. hey looking good! I have the same 007 SMP as you, i modded the [censored] out of it. I also had the electric blue but sold it to an eager customer. love the genuine SMP.
  6. yeah i've seen both the asian movement in the LITE and 2836s when working on other people's watches. If yours is the LITE, that should be the same class as the ETA 2824s that came in the same era. I think the 2892s should fit, but you gotta get new hands and the dial feet doesn't match up either.
  7. It really depends on which case you have. Some UPOs are fitted with 2824s and some with 2836s. If yours has the 2824, then the 2892 will fit (although not as snuggly, but its hardly noticeable. Its all to do with the alignment of the stem with the crown tube and the dial with the case since the movements have different heights. Hope this helps.
  8. ahh i know this case. Poor crown though right? crown tube is also internally threaded. Yep, the endlinks don't work on that case. I sold the electric blue SMP the other day. Someone offer $750 USD for it despite been told it was not genuine (just had genuine movement and crown).
  9. Hey nice build Triple! I would also recommended putting a GOLD aftermarket bezel insert into your white seamaster. The white and blue bezel never sat well for me (I also have a white quartz dial). Btw - nice Omega SMP with correct HEV position. Did you swap it out with your black SMP?
  10. Well spotted. One of the closed factory replicas. very hard to report since it looks genuine.
  11. This has always been a favorite amongst Omega watches! glad you kept this one. Does it have the serial number engraved at the 7 o'clock lug? Thanks for sharing Jeff!
  12. hahahah the joke has been done bro....give it a rest
  13. The gen caseback does not affect the replacement of the genuine 1120 movement. You would run more risk of having a caseback that doesnt fit into the case due to different size threading. Since the 1120 is thinner than the 2824, a gen caseback should have no issue at all. Here's a good example. I put a 1120 into this SMP replica Electric Blue dial.
  14. tried it. Omega 1120 fits the Omega SMP Blue Dial Replica without any mods or additional spacer.
  15. interesting post i have to say... maybe they don't deserve your money? lol find another watchmaker
  16. shhh....don't let him on the secret bazz.
  17. If you use a spacer between dial and movement, you will risk not being able to set the hands on the pinion properly. However, if you use a spacer between dial and case, like i did in my quartz SMP franken, then its not too bad. Hope this helps.
  18. yeah, the biggest issue here is the lining of the stem with the crown tube and crown itself. I remember the movement in this watch is an Asian ETA 2836, which unfortunately, is a little thicker than the 2824 and 2892. You may run into this problem.

  20. WHOLLY SHIET 3900m thats some extreme diving - to Earth's core.
  21. I think many of us have provided a rough price, in this thread and your original "Is this Gen Swiss ETA?". It seems like your waiting for someone to tell you that is movement is "rare" and worth much more than the going price of $75USD....
  22. hahaha... remember in college when they asked for reliable sources when writing papers? same thing applies here. This Hal Turner is a fool.
