  1. The picture posted by By-Thor on this thread have a good insert. I don't have a gen yet so sorry can't post any picture. One will be coming soon.
  2. Sorry to make negative comment. The pepsi GMT has bad insert printing, especially at the "8" with part of the bottom missing. I have a GMT II with the same bezel insert defect. . Bought it before I found RWG and the dealers here.
  3. I emailed question to Astorlive thru ebay yesterday questioning whether the bezel insert is aftermarket. They ignored me and did not respond. The auction is just over. I guess its more effective to ignore me than to ban me from bidding.
  4. This says watch is a GMT II and appears to be a GMT II since GMT hand shows different time then hour hand, but the dial say GMT Master!!! http://cgi.ebay.com/Rolex-GMT-Master-II-Re...1QQcmdZViewItem This ebay auction shows a GMT II with aftermarket bezel insert. The "8" is too large with the bottom not on the surface of the bezel. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...p;rd=1&rd=1 Not disclosing that not all parts are genuine is another form of rip-off, maybe not as bad as trying to pass a rep as gen. I also noticed that the bracelets on many acutions don't have number on the largest link. Is this correct or rep bracelet?
  5. Since most, if not all, of the gen's that are replicated are Swiss made, I doubt that counterfit watches is one of the items the US is complaining about.
  6. It does have the HEV in the proper location, so nice rep in that regard.
  7. Came across this while browsing Ebay. The m's don't line up, the cyclop is too far to the right and low, and off crown guard. Seller has 2350 feedback so can't trust that anymore. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...bayphotohosting
  8. I tried GS hypo cement for bezel insert and also had it coming off. The first time after I used the cement, I bumped the watch against a desk and it came off. So I figure I didn't use enough. I ended up using too much and the bezel insert was almost even with the top of crystal. Definitely unacceptable. I though I would have a hard time getting the bezel insert off now to reglue. But I only needed to tap the bezel edge with the back of a screw driver and it came flying off! As a temporary fix, I used the hypo cement again. It will be reglue as soon as I find something better that don't have "body" and add height to the bezel insert.
  9. Received a shipment notice with confirmation number from them this past Tuesday (11/28).
  10. Sorry to hear about the rip-off. Thanks for sharing your experience. I heard of washing checks (use gel pens the ink won't wash off), but not real currency. It's an eye operer. I have been ripped off by getting change that actually had the 5 dolllar bill corners (showing 5) pasted on a dollar bill, but nothing high tech like above or maybe it went thru me without me knowing.
  11. Its a swiss pattern needle file. I bought a set of 6 (flat, triangular, round, half round, etc) from Sears for $18.
  12. I wanted to do it on my EL sub, but never got to it because I thought I have to open the watch to remove the crown, then the tube and bezel. After seeing your post, I was able to file the inside corners of the CGs to make it more "vertical" without disassembling anything. Surprised that I only needed to do a few strokes on each side. Thanks for the tips and great pictures.
  13. The cyclop is positioned too far to the right. Should not be over the minute markers.
  14. Thanks for the tip. The pearl on my EL sub is also small, so I will give it a try.
  15. I hope you realize the description is for a replica with ETA movement and not a genuine Rolex. A replica with the same features sells for less than 1/2 of the price indicated from some sellers in this forum.
  16. Great news for me. Now I know EL's sub case is capable of withstanding 5 bars in a static test, after greasing the seals as you have done. Thanks.
  17. How is the pearl? Did you have to reduce the thickness? thanks.
  18. Great work. Results are fantastic.
  19. I agree that anyone has the right to wear what they want, rep or gen. However, in business settings, it is a different story. I took my wife shopping in the diamond shops on Canal St (gen diamonds, different than "canal St" rep quality). One shop we visited had three sales women, on the young side, were all wearing Rolex. This did not impress me, since not only did it look like they can't afford them, they were too cool to wear those conservative style ladies rolex that looked like smaller versions of the men's model. It came across as the boss bought all of them reps and make them wear it to impress customers. Having said that anyone has the right to wear what they want, it still bugs me that I see people wear fantasy watch, like a black SMP with skeleton hands. They are encouraging the rep manufacturers to place low priority on producing accurate reps by buying what ever is out there.
  20. EL's description when quoting, didn't include any claims that this is a"TW Best"
  21. @tshoot this one needs a new insert with better pearl. It may not show in the picture but pearl seems smaller than the gen I have seen, unless the new gen now comes with smaller pearls.
  22. Front shot. Sorry about the size. didn't allow me to postlarger size.
  23. Got message that my global attachment limit has been exceeded. will post pix after resizing.
  24. Just received sub from EL. Quick delivery from TW to NY. Ordered during the weekend and post office tried to delivery it on Thursday. I especially like the CGs, since for me that's my nit; it's the feature I would look for to see if it's gen or not and many times that's enough even on a moving wrist. Improved CGs, rehault, crystal, etc. (as compared to my previous sub purchase in 2005) Decent date and cyclop aligment Laser logo is not visible with nake eye, visilbe only with loup or blow-up. The pearl appeared smaller than the gen. Diver extension need to be bent to flatten the curve to loosen the tension or else too tight to be deployed (not that I planned on diving with this watch). Comments welcome.
