  1. given the value of the gen, there aren't a bunch of sources of "cheap" straps for the big pilot. your best options for aftermarket straps are hktan, strapluxe (although i wasn't very impressed with their brown calf strap) and frogman straps (here on RWG). hope this helps deltatahoe
  2. nice to see you back K; best wishes for a speedy recovery for your little guy deltatahoe
  3. if it were me i'd email my trusted dealer (who i order most of my new watches from) and tell him the situation. you might be surprised by the response you get if that doesn't work, i'd consider it an opportunity to snag one of reg's (now legendary) 42mm POs.... just my $0.02, deltatahoe
  4. thanks chief -- good idea (and simple too). just now getting around to checking back in on this thread. deltatahoe
  5. the answer, without a doubt, is a resolute YES. quality has most definitely gone up. i think this is probably one of the things that bugs "old timers" the most -- noobies complaining about a really minor issue and/or innacuracy with their watch (or the fact that it took more than 5 days to receive their rep), when they don't appreciate where reps have come from over the years. quality has improved immensely. just my $0.02 of course deltatahoe
  6. beautiful watch i was watching this one pretty closely on the trading boards, but ultimately decided to hold off. if you ever decide to sell it, let me know deltatahoe
  7. yeah, that blue dial is really something -- i'm squarely on the fence on this. although they are flat & wide, my 7" wrists just look plain scrawny with the super avenger random question -- is there a simple black reflector that you find does the job easily (and stands up on its own)? thanks in advance deltatahoe
  8. wow chief -- looking good your pictures are making me reconsider my decision to abandon my genuine blue big wings dial super avenger project makes me wish i had twotone sized gorilla wrists deltatahoe
  9. what's in a name? that which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet.... deltatahoe
  10. some fantastic pictures of a beautiful watch here; this is my favorite shot: deltatahoe ps, it's crazy how much prices on lightly used watches have come in these days
  11. thanks F i know you've been wishing for one of these for a long time -- enjoy your new watch deltatahoe
  12. if you're banging your watches into stuff, they are all going to accumulate dings and scratches -- both rep and gen. it's not like gens are using dent-resistant metal unless of course you're talking about a sinn u2, which is made from tegimented submarine steel... deltatahoe
  13. now where's my sniper rifle? deltatahoe
  14. x2 -- i'm curious about the same thing -- was it something about the genuine dial that needed extra gears, or was it the hand? thanks in advance deltatahoe
  15. first off, congrats on your new watch & thanks for posting M -- definitely a good read couldn't agree more with this statement deltatahoe
  16. welcome to the 112 club deltatahoe
  17. this is an easy, $10 fix (i can sense your sigh of relief already). for the blackbird, when you have the crown out at the typical date-setting position (ie. the seconds hand at 3:00 should still be running), turn the crown towards you as opposed to away from you to change the date now where's my $10??!? deltatahoe
  18. i think that's the point of kruzer's topic -- they have changed it -- just check out the thicker font on the bezel insert deltatahoe
  19. if you're interested in the pam 252, i have one of those for sale here deltatahoe
  20. well the 194 should be titanium, so there's that.... and i'm personally not a fan of the 029.... so i'm not sure what to tell you maybe it would help if you told us what other pams you have in your collection deltatahoe
  21. she's a looker doc here's to a speedy recovery deltatahoe
  22. what an assortment of parts just amazing, and as everyone is realizing -- these "team effort" watches are some of the best!! wear it well deltatahoe
  23. now that would really be something deltatahoe
