Is there a list of the best AR of the current Breitlings?
deltatahoe replied to hackR's topic in The Breitling Area
i don't think there is an official list anywhere, but most of the newer "super rep" breitlings have pretty decent AR. off the top of my head, here are some thoughts on the different models... models with quality AR i) super avenger (new version) ii) skyland avenger iii) breitling blackbird iv) steelfish superocean models with decent AR i) chronomat evolution models with crappy AR i) navitimer i don't know anything about the different bentley models as they don't interest me in the least... with regard to where to buy, i'd suggest becoming a supporter -- a whole new world of options will open up to you hope this helps. oh, and welcome to RWG deltatahoe -
i realized i was just being silly -- i mean it's not like i was sending several hundred dollars to china to someone i didn't know, hoping to receive high quality counterfeit goods in return. oh wait seriously, i got comfortable after reading a bunch of reviews about people's experiences with the various dealers, combined with quite a few emails back and forth with one of the dealers (probably at least 10-15 emails; this was back in the day before our trusted dealers had websites -- just photobucket accounts. back then, it took quite a bit of reading just to find out how to even contact any of our dealers). then i finally took the plunge (i bought the requisite submariner and pam 111h btw), and never looked back. i have to be honest though -- it was pretty exciting (read: nerve-racking) waiting for that first rep to arrive it's like everyone says -- no one forgets their first anyways, feel free to ask questions; i think you'll find people here to be pretty helpful.... oh, and welcome to RWG deltatahoe

i think the whole "show your gens" discussion brings up an interesting matter to talk about.... in general, i think most people are hesitant about showing their gens here because they want to avoid looking like a braggart. and rightly so; no one likes someone who is always showing off. i think the key to presenting gens here is the manner in which you go about posting them. it is generally pretty easy to recognize who is looking for attention and who is just excited about their new toy. i know when i got my first genuine watch (my beloved sinn u2), i was so excited about it i just had to share it with my friends here at RWG. anyways, just my $0.02 deltatahoe

@V, shrug it off friend and keep doing what you're doing i suspect/hope that your exchange with the longtime member re: your parts sale was a misunderstanding (written words can always come off / be interpreted wrongly), and things can be mended -- there is nothing worse than broken relationships. these are just watches after all. and don't forget you still have that rep ferrari pam in your collection deltatahoe

i'm definitely a wearer, but my collection has grown to the point where it is hard to wear them all regularly my watch wearing habits ebb & flow -- sometimes i change it up every day, sometimes i'll get stuck on a particular watch for several days at a time... i love the variety -- it is what makes reps so great -- you can own 10 incredible reps of very different watches for the price of one gen deltatahoe

PAM faux pas? PVD buckle with polished SS case?
deltatahoe replied to ubiquitous's topic in The Panerai Area
personally, i like to match the buckle to the case.... deltatahoe -
i have a random question....any reason why orange-ish straps seem to be the consensus choice on PVD pams? that has always seemed a little odd to me deltatahoe

it's funny how watch collecting ebbs & flows -- at one point in time you can be totally satisfied with your collection, and a couple months later you find yourself needing to add something different. i think i'd have a hard time parting w/ my 111h that i had pvd coated... i recently saw the following picture by greg stevens of his v2 crazy horse with black stitching and pvd buckle; i may have to get a new strap deltatahoe

thanks for starting this thread V -- i'm going to need to do the same thing for my FGD dial (i'm starting with an angus ultimate 111e as my base watch, which has the polished CG and short lugs that are correct for the pre-a 002). be sure to post pictures of the finished project deltatahoe
