  1. just a small donation. definitely worth the dollars to support this great place.
  2. nice work offshore. it must feel good knowing you saved some poor soul from getting taken by a scammer...
  3. i'd be curious to see more experienced members responses here as well; however, from what i've read, palpatine and finepics's aftermarket pvd seem to win the award for best (most accurate) pvd coating...see this post here
  4. hi guys, i was wondering if anybody has ever tried fitting a 203 case with an upgraded sapphire crystal. i was thinking about trying the davidsen fiddy crystal, but when i emailed joshua he mentioned the 203 is from a different maker than the 127 and he wasn't sure if it would fit... he also mentioned he could sell me a fiddy case w/ sapphire crystal; any thoughts on whether the 203 dial & movement would fit in the fiddy case without major modifications? anybody have any thoughts / suggestions on this? let me know... deltatahoe
  5. figure i would chime in and say that the day and date don't bother me one bit on this watch -- i really can't believe how much i like this watch -- the only way to describe it is that it has 'presence' in spades. it is such a simple design, but for me, the amount of white on the dial is really striking. hard to describe i guess.
  6. see tenacious_b's post here for details (looks like ziggy thinks he might be able to get these -- he's checking into it, but estimated $75 for parts)
  7. any update from your watchmaker andreww?
  8. i'm curious -- is this second PO also an ultimate lite? if so, who from -- josh or andrew (i just ordered an ultimate PO lite from joshua last week; i'm hoping mine is from a similar batch)? deltatahoe
  9. just in case people are looking for a nice do-it-all digital watch (heart rate monitor, altimeter, barometer, compass, thermometer, etc), there is the top of the line suunto (x6hr) on www.steepandcheap.com right now for more than half off retail.... EDIT: the watch is gone... www.steepandcheap.com is a good outdoor gear site -- only thing is, you have to act fast -- once things sell out, they are gone for good. figured there might be someone on here that would be interested. deltatahoe
  10. @jonathan, i believe they are talking about the tendency for non-100% rubber rep straps to attract dust.....given all the dust on the strap in silix's pictures, it's a fairly safe bet (although i hope actual experience proves this wrong) the silix strap isn't 100% rubber (which doesn't attract dust)....
  11. fwiw jules borel -- www.julesborel.com -- has this tool; just search 6111 in their search box and you will find it.... deltatahoe
  12. welcome manny -- i think you'll find collecting/wearing nice watches to be as addicting as collecting/smoking nice cigars.... ps, glad to see you went for the VIP it's the least we could do to support the wealth of information (not to mention good people) this place represents.... deltatahoe
  13. i'm dealing with a similar dial color choice; if i didn't already have the white dial chronomat evolution, i'd definitely go for white...
  14. me too -- small screwdriver and some patience
  15. great review blackrain. doesn't it feel good to give back (even in a small way) to the forum that you've learned so much from? your post is what RWG is all about -- cheers to taking the time to make this a better place. deltatahoe
  16. we want pics!!!! (with phoband's permission of course)
  17. totally agreed re: things going in waves -- i went a solid stretch of four or five months without really wanting any new watches (pam straps seemed to fill in the void nicely though ), but that changed pretty quickly with all of these new super-reps that have come out recently (chronomat evolution, big bang, pilot chrono, ultimate 45mm po, steelfish, etc)... i also agree with all that's been said about the mood of the board -- let's keep it positive & remember how good we have it here! deltatahoe
  18. regardless of the amount of time it takes, the work you do is nothing short of incredible ziggy.
  19. according to angus, it's about a month away from being released....
  20. the head of hublot is also one of the moderators of the hublot forum over at timezone; when people post about buying a hublot watch he usually sends them a hand written note providing an extended warranty on their watch. from the tone of the guy's posts, i think he is going to be devastated when he finds out he has a rep and not the real deal....he is to be pitied -- not snickered and laughed at. can you imagine if this happened to you? we're complaining here about a dealer misrepresenting movements in a replica watch. imagine for a second if you paid $4,000 for a watch, only to find out it cost $400... deltatahoe
  21. if you read the whole thread (i posted the text of the guy's original post below), i think this guy has no clue he has a rep....probably thought he got a good deal on a slightly used model.... check it out: ---------------------------- Dear all, first of all, I will introduce myself briefly: my name is Alexander, 34 years old, married and father of a 11 years old son. I live between Stuttgart and Munich and I would call myself as a "Omegamaniac" - I got my first Omega as I was 5 years old. However, my new big love is the Big Bang. After some days and some sleepless nights stands my decision: I must have a Big Bang! Nevertheless, this decision was easy, because I can identify myself totally with this watch and with Hublot. Not only the watch and the company are impressive, rather the people which created this masterpiece and made possible that the fusion of most diverse materials could form a whole, could gotten a soul. Amazing! Mr. Biver, as I already wrote to you, your visionary business philosophy fascinates me! The direct, open contact to existing and potential customers is simply unique. Amazing! Beyond that, Mr. Biver, your opinion is absolutely correct! The soul is the difference between watches. And not only between watches. I discovered in all your statements and in all your interviews the soul, the positiv thinking and not least the portion love which you gave and give each of your watches. Amazing! I thank you and look forward to meet with you in Basel! Sincerely yours, Alexander E. ----------------------------
  22. many kudos to angus for his response to this thread, as well as all of the work he has done (ie. hublot big bang and breitling chronomat evolution, 1:1 rubber strap, etc) and continues to do (ie. iwc costeau divers) in bringing us new top-quality reps, while allowing the forum to participate in making said reps better. deltatahoe
  23. nice, high quality (very clear) picture.... i personally like to post them so you don't have click on them to see them though....
