  1. And don't forget the people or it would be an empty shell. Group Hug Great selection and prices you have narikaa, maybe once my bank account starts looking positive again...
  2. How are geneva waves, pearlage etc applied? Is it difficult to do? Is it expensive? It seems to be standard on genuine watches to have some sort of decoration and even the basic decorated movements have these. Also, I think the IWC GST Chrono clasp has pearlage and this could be done (if cheap) by members who have this watch ?
  3. I was thinking thomasng when I opened this one too, til I saw the watch.
  4. True, people do whatever pleases them, even when others won't understand!
  5. I saw it... you'll have to look for another someday.
  6. But then again, buying mechanical watches nowadays is just as wrist-jewelry... so if this does it for you, no one can really argue.
  7. Picture didn't come up. That watch admin likes is ok, but TTK is right. Still, it is off-beat and different, and how many people will have one of those ? Most muggers round here would probably think it's a piece of junk and leave it with you That's what's great about the non-"name" brands - not as well known but even more expensive. Too bad I can't afford a genuine!
  8. yeah you're right. i think they hold their value better in the second-hand market just because it is know that Rolex manufacture them. Personally I am a fan of Zenith chronographs
  9. As far as I know, tudor's don't use Rolex movements but normal ETA or other ebauches? What they *do* use are Oyster cases, so a good start for the rolex frankenwatches
  10. Did anyone ever find out who TKK was ? He eventually got "banned" I think and hasn't shown back up but seemed to want to stir the pot with his attempted "replication" of TTK.
  11. Esmarc, who is the girl in your avatar? And can I have her ?
  12. Definitely somewhat. I got a two tone r*l*x submariner ... probably a lot for that... and it has a diamond serti dial so on some level you are right. I also got some generic quartz brand all "iced out" though I have never worn it... these impulse buys are killing me!
  13. Maybe polls should only be initiated by moderators so we can forget all the future "Should Nais be allowed to speak" polls that get bumped 2 years later.
  14. Should be saying not everyone is as you describe, and to some extents it is true depending on the situation. Most people in finance *do* wear suits and it *is* like a uniform. That's why I don't like it!
  15. Can I just say, "Claptrap." I work in finance, and am the only one there who wears soccer shirts to work... not loud ones, and not ones with sponsors on them but I do it none the less (right now I favour the Italia kappa jerseys). I wear dark sneakers as well. Brown or black ones - never found a pair of shoes that are comfortable for me, and I have tried Gucci and Prada, as well as Timberland and Kickers. Even for the interview, I went there with Kickers on, trousers, and a collarless shirt (I *hate* ties - an old Victorian [and even older - Cravat] fashion that is well past it's sell-by date). They saw my resume and that I had gone to the best university in the country for the subject I studied and were surprised i even applied there. Guess it's because it's close to home and I have to look for a job I *really* would want to do.
  16. As I put in the other thread: FROM Silix website: Away from 3-17-06 to 3-19-06 Http://www.silixprime.com@DateF2006-3-17 Sorry we will be away for this weekend. Appologize for any delay caused by this. We will come back to you as soon as we come back. Nice weekend.
  17. UK girls are fine too but the list is closed now as far as I know.
  18. it's essentially a UK thing though there were a few from Europe as well. I would suggest that you get a whole bunch from your country and then make an approach and see if they will give you something as well? Try to get 10 or more, makes it worth their while.
  19. There are still people on dial-up??? They should just switch off images and selectively load the ones they want.
  20. Good luck,,, and I see Klink reading
  21. For some reason, on the official DOXA site, it says shipping to USA will oftentimes result in NO duty, at most only a very small amount, but to the EU (right next to Switzerland) the full amount will be levied.
