  1. Been away a while. I've had LASEK done in one eye... once I get my other health problems sorted out (chronic back pain, multiple bulging/herniated discs) I'll look at getting the other eye done. Anyway, I tried to get a couple of friends in contact with the person who helped me get this but seems like Watchonpo just disappeared on them Best bet is finding a Japanese speaker who can mail him, or even better someone in that area.
  2. Still enjoying it? The polished bezel looks great! I see the price on these have dropped, so it's looking very attractive right now. I have a house move soon so I guess that will keep me away from these!
  3. Edit : found the post we had last year about this issue. It SHOULDN'T have the flags on the side, so this one is as accurate as it gets I'm tempted by this or the ceramic case Black Magic.... the Black Magic was the first Hublot I wanted when i saw the gen...
  4. I was gone for a while... things weren't good but back now. Still haven't got this, or decided on this or the Black Magic.... the ceramic case attracts me because it won't give me any allergic reaction like the nickel in SS. I've seen a version with a bracelet though, which looks intriguing. Do you still have this TUIGA ? And are you still enjoying it ? I've seen the prices on this has dropped quite a bit though! I wonder if they still have them with the polished bezel.
  5. Seeing as we are collecting BB thoughts on this thread, and the Black Magic has come up.... There seem to be versions of the Black Magic with the rubber strap and one with a bracelet. There are disparities in pricing, and I'm guessing that they may be from different factories... in which case can the straps work in both and (I can't believe I'm saying this) which is the best version? On another note... can the lower beat Asian 7750 movement still be interchanged with an ETA 7750? If so, I would (personally) find the lower beat version to be more attractive. The early iterations had the same hand sizes so the rep hands could be used on the ETA 7750. I wonder why they changed hand sizes with the upgraded Asian 7750 copy?
  6. A question, should this have the flags on the opposite side to the crown as well (if that makes sense)? I've seen some pictures of the gen with that, but I'm not sure. My memory's hazy!
  7. titanium AMG every time !
  8. Has anyone actually had a good experience with this movement ? It's around a year on now, is there anyone who's been using theirs all this time and it's still running smoothly?
  9. Thanks for the heads up! I hope the watchmaker can fix your RB... good luck!
  10. Has anyone had a look at the recent movements ? Now it is around a year on from it's debut, have they improved it ?
  11. Any advice where to get the movement and dial? I have one of the original MBWs still in the wrapper and at one point almost got their expensive version...!
  12. It's like jockeys in horse racing... Thomasng had a genuine one and had no problems wearing it either.
  13. Not in my case. I think the maximum limit for a gift is arouund 20GBP (which is worth even less than it was a few months ago, 1euro almost equals 1GBP... not that long ago it was 1GBP = 1.45 euro). I've been taxed on ANYTHING declared above the 20GBP. I've tried refusing to pay after getting the item but then they threaten legal action which I couldn't be bothered to fight for 10-20GBP. So in my case, they aren't lazy.... What they don't tend to do is open up the package and check that the value corresponds to what you're receiving... I'm sure in some cases they could make a case for a higher value item being mispriced.
  14. Everyone probably knows that Honda have pulled out.... from what I understand, they'd been developing a competitive car for next season, led by Ross Brawn (who helped Schumacher win all those titles). How will Jenson Button cope without his 20 mill a year salary? http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/for...icle5292658.ece
  15. I've heard there is another "Storm" type phone in the works. Probably a version that is what the first should be - having said that I haven't tried out the Storm yet, it may be really really good. At least it sounded like it would be. Lots of people seem to be getting it though. RIM are good with regular firmware updates so any issues should get resolved fairly quickly I'd guess? Anyway more competition leads to better products in the long run... (Still don't think a touchscreen is for me so I'll stick with the Bold until the N97 or N83 are out )
  16. This could be useful for those who have 2 phones but would rather only carry 1. http://www.wndtelecom.com/en/mobile/2200-D...dium=skyscraper
  17. You're probably right I'm not sure touchscreen is for me so i got the Bold which is great. Have it on a 20GBP per month deal with unlimited internet/email along with 600 mins and 1000 texts Good luck getting a cheap phone!
  18. Here's the thread I started a few weeks back... and my father STILL hasn't bought a new TV... but my brother gave him a lot of money so he can buy one... his budget will be a lot higher now. http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=85478 There are quite a few people who recommend looking at AVS forums.
  19. http://www.gsmarena.com/quake_iii_arena_no...ne-news-693.php This also has support for bluetooth keyboards and mice, coupled with the TV out capability and is also able to host multiplayer servers... not bad at all ! Great if you want a decent multiplayer game to take with for those long hotel stays on business I remember seeing a version of Quake running on one of the N-series phone and controlled via the accelerometer. (PS. I was always a fan of Unreal Tournament over this though)
  20. Nokia have announced the Nokia N97: http://www.gsmarena.com/touchscreen_nokia_...ty-news-694.php 3.5inch widescreen touchscreen display (360x640) which slides and tilts to reveal a QWERTY keyboard. 32gb onboard memory plus a memory card slot (so at the current time that's upto 16gb). The naming convention means it's the next in line after the N96. Seems to have everything including Flash Lite (so we'll finally get the full web? ) so YouTube videos will play natively. Hopefully they include XviD/DivX support too. Hopefully battery life will be a lot better than the N95 and N96 ! Personally I hope it has a xenon flash, or the N83 comes out with xenon flash and 8mp camera. Here are the current known specs: http://www.gsmarena.com/nokia_n97-2615.php
  21. That's what I'd done in the past ... I still have 100 Verbatim single layers lying around.. I think they were around 30 GBP or so at the time.
  22. The Taiyo Yuden comment is my own (not sure if Pug uses that brand). I have a Pioneer burner which was one of the best when I got it.. before that I'd been using Plextor for CD-burning. Amazing that you can get good DVD burners for 30-40 GBP now while back then I'd pay close to 100GBP for a CD burner! I was considering blu-ray too but that is so expensive at the moment. Your prices for blank DL discs are a lot better too, it's around double here I think. I have a RAID external setup as well as lots of internal hard drives... I guess I could try and get another 1TB hard drive, but I already have a few TB and should just clear off all my junk and DVD to phone conversions, CD to mp3 conversions etc. I admit I'm a serial hoarder (why else do I have so many things? )
  23. Chronus

    Gone

I thought Slay was Slayer as well.... I remember the old gorilla avatar and the back and forth with a few people and dealers, though it wasn't long before RWG2 started and most migrated.
  24. Does anyone use dual-layer DVD-rs for backups? Are they any good? And I want to backup data, I doubt I'll use them for movies. Thanks to anyone for their input.
