  1. I really gotta try it first.... where can i get one for a week? Or are there reps Pug, how is the multi-tasking? Is my info incorrect? I've only seen it in use a few times. My current one multitasks very well: http://thesymbianblog.com/2008/03/05/multitasking-n82/ That's what I'm used to and what I expect... so perhaps the e71 is best. I don't know how the blackberry copes with that.
  2. Here's a picture and specifications: http://www.gsmarena.com/lg_kc910-2495.php A few more pictures and article about it: http://www.gsmarena.com/8_megapixel_lg_kc9...ps-news-573.php Looks good to me Still no idea if a touchscreen is for me, puggy, I'm still waiting
  3. Also for those with Windows Mobile and Symbian, you can get a free DivX player from the DivX site. There is also a program called Core Player which plays both DivX and XviD. Great to use TV out on your phone I'm not sure if iPhone has native support for it, if not, they may have a player there too.
  4. Yeah he can speed read and retain all the information as well (photographic memory helps). Studying for exams was always easy for him... most of the time he'd remember things from the actual classes! It all started with me and a friend at primary school (around age 8-11 or so) trying to outdo each other and read as many books everyday. My brother copied me... except he kept doing it, while I slowed down to savour the story... wish I hadn't now
  5. Forgot to mention other new things on the horizon... I was initially going to get the LG Viewty over the iPhone as it seemed to do everything and more. Lack of wifi and the memory card behind the battery put me off, but that's fixed on the new one coming out with an 8MP camera. And this time it has a lens cover. About time! The Samsung Omnia looks ok. The Sony Ericsson Xperia looks good though... touch screen but also a slide-out keypad. Made by HTC. We'll see how that does, probably similar to the upcoming HTC Touch Pro? And the Blackberry Thunder/Storm will be their first touchscreen phone... Going to be an interesting next few months. Phone manufacturers seem to be ramping up to 8MP cameras. I'll wait and see how SE and Nokia respond to that. And I'm still not sure if I like touchscreens or not. Pugwash, when are you lending me your iPhone?
  6. Blackberry Bold is finally out. It came out in the UK a couple weeks ago. I saw it in the shop yesterday. There's a review here: http://apcmag.com/blackberry_bold_handson_review.htm It looks really good. Same screen resolution as an iPhone, but due to the smaller screen size, there are more dots per inch. It really does look good. It's wide, and I've never had a wide phone before. Not like that at least. I've also seen the Nokia e71 which seems to be really good too. There's a review here: http://www.gsmarena.com/nokia_e71-review-266.php It seems to be the only phone with a browser with full Flash support. The BB one doesn't have that, nor the iPhone (a recent story about an iPhone ad being pulled due to a misleading advert). e71 will display full version of youtube fine, while BB has native divx/xvid support. CorePlayer will probably run on the e71 so probably no problems there? What's amazing though, is the e71's GPS was tested and ran for 14 hours straight in a static position. I think the next best phone has managed 4 hours. BB probably will run less than that due to the higher resolution display. I tried out the keyboard and it seemed ok. The e71 looks a little more cramped, but build quality is supposed to be great, made of all metal. It also has an interesting remote wipe feature. If your phone is stolen, send an SMS message to it with a code that will lock the phone. There are 3 attempts given to type in the correct unlock code, otherwise it wipes all the data. Not bad? A question to iPhone users as I've still kinda considered it. How is it typing for long periods at a time? Such as this post I've just posted... is it comfortable? I tend to write a lot. Also, I heard that iPhone can't multitask. It shuts down tasks when switching to something else. So if you are on a messenger and want to view a webpage, it will shut down the former to view the latter? I'm guessing that it *does* allow you to play music while browsing etc though? I gotta say I don't like the o2 tariffs for iPhone though. Considering they do a sim only tariff with free internet for 20 a month. And for anyone in the UK, if you get a business tariff on Vodafone, use quidco, they'll give you 100 GBP cash back :thumsupsmileyanim:
  7. USed to play a little UT mainly with people I knew... but the only one I *really* got into was Jedi Outcast. I was unemployed so had a lot of time and got very good. I got kicked off a German server once for getting 60 kills in the space of a few minutes... they were just too easy!
  8. For testing purposes, someone should just rip him a short action sequence from a movie to check the quality... that should do the trick and won't be 8-10 gb.
  9. MBW PP Nautilus.. sadly no one seems to fawn about it anymore. Same goes for MBW AP RO Jumbo. Hmmmm chronos tend to replace non-chrono versions in the affections of many rep collectors.
  10. Seems like dealers are selling a PVD version of this. And the ubiquitous "This is made with a Genuine as sample"... Why do PVD watches leave the caseback alone, non-PVD'd?
  11. I'm too far (overseas) and can't get away from work as I was off sick all of last week - which means I lose a week's pay. If anyone could get me that ROO I would forever be grateful !
  12. if the lite version comes with the slower beat movement, is it still conducive to an ETA 7750 movement swap?
  13. it will never be accurate ... no flyback functionality... so dson't demonstrate the chrono ! mineral glass would be a deal breaker if i was interested in this.
  14. Yep that one But I now have to dig it up... it's been a long wait !
  15. Can you get me an AP ROO Alinghi in carbon case? As many of them as possible ?
  16. EL was my go to guy for the more expensive reps, eg. PAM028, 029, 03 etc. Great guy, and before he left, he was almost on the verge of getting the PAM187 with 7753 done, but sadly that never came to pass. It'd be great to hear from him again... I remember him giving me advice on not getting laser eye surgery done.
  17. if i had the cash for a genuine Big Bang, I'd buy an AP. if i had the cash for a genuine rolex, I'd buy Breitling or Omega. A lot of reps people buy are as test drives, or watches that they'd have never bought as a genuine, even if they had the cash. We'll see how things change, but not many get me too excited nowadays...
  18. It's still a weird thing to do... I have a V72 watch from the 50s (old Breitling made watch under a different name for the US market) which works fine, but I never wear it, so I've considered making a Daytona out of it (once I get money of course!). I'm still a little uneasy though, but I still think about it. I don't think I'd have as many qualms with an Invicta etc if it costs less than the ETA 7750 by itself though.... don't know why!
  19. I still have the Europelli carbon I got from you years ago... been waiting all this time
  20. It was the same price as Honpo... just convert the Yen into Dollars and you get the Dollar price. Plus shipping. The Yen price was around 35,000 Yen (it's on his website).
  21. I get the hint I just got out of bed! (been sick all of last week with a fever, but thankfully almost back to normal now) Anyway, it'd be great to tell the weight difference between the two. The SS one must be heavy! Thanks, and it couldn't have been done without them, I can't stress how helpful they were!
  22. Thanks for the comments! All I have to do is get some AR on it, perhaps a cyclops (I still have some Watchmen cyclops !) and I'll be even happier. Strange being the only one in the English-speaking rep world to get one so far... where's Willith been? I thought he wanted one too.
