  1. You're right about that, I hear the plans are pretty poor over here too, they charge you more than usual and give you fewer minutes. it's on o2... that's why i cant get rid of my 3000 minute deal on t-mobile... that's been good to me
  2. I only came across this thread yesterday for the first time... continued reading it all and finished earlier today... if you read how you respond and defend Apple, you'll see that you come across as that which you don't like. As for the phone itself, I'd want to give it a trial before taking it on ... unless they have a version with an external memory card slot, removable battery, and no forced reliance on iTunes! It's great to be able to use my phone memory as a mass storage device... I rarely bother carrying around my 2gb "pen" drive anymore, as the 8gb on my phone is far bigger and quicker (with the USB card reader). I gotta say I liked the haptic feedback on the LG Viewty when I saw it last year. I'm still not sure if a touchscreen phone is for me though.... I really like iPhone's large screen though. Great for webpages, movies etc. the one on my n82 is 2.4-2.6inches (can't remember the exact specification) which is bigger than usual. Been fine watching music videos, tv shows, football etc on it so far. I guess there is something to having the latest new gadget even if it's unnecessary
  3. If you send it back, arrange with the dealer to bear the cost and customs risk, this problem with the bezel is through no fault of your own. If they hadn't sent a faulty product, they would not have to bear this risk and cost, right ? It's your choice I guess... perhaps they will give you a discount for future use? Anyway, I agree the watch looks great... which part hurts your wrist? I'm guessing it's the clasp? If so, try loosening the rubber a notch and see if that's better. If that isn't what you want to do, look up other people's posts about putting sticky foam pads on the sharp parts, that are unseen when worn. It looks such a great watch though! Tempting me into finally getting a BB! You didn't have to try to scratch the brushed part.. just wanted your opinion on how it looks. I really have no idea if the genuine one has that part in brushed PVD metal or brushed ceramic. And Gran, great to see you back !
  4. It was a weak joke playing on the fact that the screws weren't in the bezel properly.... as they should have been. Many people would consider sending it back to get fixed, as it is poor QC on the dealer's part. The other part was just a question, as until the brushed ceramic bezels, I'd only seen polished ceramic in watches. I think there were people who bought some kind of pads to stick onto the clasp to make it comfortable to wear. I agree that the clasp is pretty bad, sharp and painful. Grinding it down on this one won't help because it is PVD coated and would reveal the metal underneath Unless you can get a standard clasp and work on that, and then get it PVD'd, but just not worth the effort?
  5. And finally (as we are on a rep forum), Ken, whatever happened to the copies? Did you ever get any? Were they good?
  6. I agree with thomasng I hadn't realised how much of a fanboy Pugwash is ! And Slay... doesn't he have an iPhone? I'm still waiting on the new Blackberry.... don't like the idea of non-removable battery and memory storage (as well as having to use iTunes). I guess I'll wait and see if it grows on me. And finally, whatever happened with the trademark case?
  7. Great pictures! Pity you got screwed (ok sorry for the pun). If I were you, I'd ask to get it fixed if you want this watch, otherwise return or sell it on. A question - the piece on top of the strap between the lugs looks brushed. Is that part metal, or is it brushed ceramic?
  8. Thanks Dani, I look forward to your considered opinion on this watch
  9. I like the white dial over the black dial, whether on rubber or steel... i'd go for the rubberclad, but would love the option of having a bracelet and bezel to swap out as needed.
  10. Has anyone got the "full ceramic case" version of the Black Magic or other Big Bang ? Everyone's attention's been on the AP ROO with sec at 12... but did anyone get this? Any pics? Any thoughts? Dani? I think you ordered this?
  11. Then this would really show the greed.... The first run ceramic HBBs (with the so-called genuine) were around $600-700, and now they are $1000 and up and now without genuine bezels? Is that not just pure greed for what is now an inferior product?
  12. Perhaps the dealers themselves sold the information? Why do you think a payment processor would do that before the dealer would ?
  13. No idea, never had an ipod, my phones have always played music and had memory card slots - sony ericsson w810i, sony ericsson k800i, nokia N82.... I'm happy with that. 2x8gb cards is enough for me usually, work is only a 10-15 min walk from home - why do you think I stayed here so long on relatively low pay
  14. There's a monastery up in the mountains just outside the city you could take a look at... the Aquarium is great, and when I went (in 2001) was the biggest in Europe. There's an Imax nearby as well. If you like football, go check out the Camp Nou and take a ride up to Montjuic, you can see Espanyol's former Olympic stadium on the way up to the top of the mountain. The Olympic village had lots of restaurants as well. I remember going to a club on the beach, and one in Placa Catalunya... MareMagnum was a little dead, and the only packed club would only let you in if you were white (according to a native of Barcelona that I knew at the time) and we witnessed that as well. I'm sure it's changed since - I doubt they stop Ronaldinho going in Anyway, nice relaxing place to be and walk around
  15. Answer is no.... for now. I'm sticking with my N82. Waiting to see the new Blackberry come out and get that (or iPhone) as a business phone for free. The new Nokia N96 looks decent though Sadly no xenon flash... but the N82 does the same stuff, but has half the 256mb RAM of the N96.
  16. Perhaps you can get a new replacement movement from your dealer if it is not repairable. If you can get it repaired, and the watchmaker takes it all apart, make sure to take pics and get his opinion on the movement! I probably still won't trust it until The Zigmeister reviews it. If it just turns out irrepairable, then I guess you could keep it for parts... perhaps take it all apart to see the construction of the case... merge with a MBW case to make the true "ultimate" version perhaps
  17. I doubt it, don't forget it's being advertised as having non-symmetrical subdials. Thanks for bringing up the pics... I can understand your excitement. When I saw it said it was the lower beat Asian movement, that's when it twigged that it's the seconds at 9 movement.
  18. I'd be interested in a correct titanium version, but what we'll get are very expensive plated gold and going by the BB King, an even more pricey so-called "platinum-plated" version.
  19. Looks like the Brasilian flag colours of the chrono counters are not correct... that looks like orange rather than yellow
  20. Appears to have running seconds at 9... is that correct?
  21. Just a word about the genuine - great strap as it is. I ordered and paid for mine last September. I only got it about a month ago. Seems to be some sort of backlog on these straps. I got the black one.
