  1. A friend of mine has been playing regularly for the past few months (he makes around $2,000 each time minimum, on the lower tables) and said a few times people have started talking watches and he felt out of place with his old Accurist quartz - saying I'd have been right at home in those conversations. One guy said he had a sub that Sean Connery wore for James Bond (though I don't kow if he means the exact same watch or a vintage that is the same - my friend isn't playing on the high [$20k] buy-in games yet) and he said there are lots of Rolexes and Omegas and others he doesn't really know. He's not really into watches, just knows about them through me. He was saying I should go with him tonight cos he wants to win more money!
  2. Yeah no replies for the past few weeks here either.
  3. I'd be happy for a low-beat Asian 7750 copy movement, if there's no problems swapping out for a Swiss ETA 7750 (eg. hand sizes are the same)... if that can't be done, I'm not bothered with the low-beat... The flags on the side of the TUIGA... I have no idea if it should be on the genuine, can't find any pics of the genuine with that side view. Other simple things would be having parts put in properly, easy the inserts glued/screwed in etc (eg. the black part on the crown). Other things that can be put together for this one is to use the best polished ceramic bezel. I'm not really a fan of plated gold on reps, and as others have mentioned, the weight will be wrong. I'm of the opinion a plated watch is of lower resale value than a non-plated watch as it has a shorter life because of the plating rubbing off eventually.
  4. Is the genuine SS version supposed to have the flag on the side? I've noticed the same thing as your watches... only the RG rep has the flags on the side.
  5. I'd go for a great SS Tuiga version with the best ceramic bezel. is it supposed to have the flags on the side of the case (other side of crown side) ? I'm not sure i see these on the most expensive versions.
  6. I agree on that point.. but I think this particular watch, the genuine is only on rubber... Pity with the HBBs, Porsche, etc.
  7. Don't know about ET as he inspects watches himself... Andrew is a dropshipper so he wont even see if it's done... collusion or not to make some extra I have no idea...but to be safe, better to get it tested yourself.
  8. You and me both.... don't get me started on football We need dr. sssurfer to solve our problems
  9. I agree.. I don't wear any other form of jewelry.... nothing... no chains, rings, earrings or anything... only thing i have is a titanium bracelet and my watches.
  10. Enjoy your break, working a day job and then on watches can become a chore at times. Enjoy the weather and the bikes and hope to see the odd post
  11. I think the stricter policing in terms of reps is Germany, Italy and maybe France... te first definitely, but perhaps members of the latter 2 can tell us more. I believe it is illegal to possess a rep in Italy, as opposed tomost places, where it is illegal to sell them, but not to own them.
  12. Sadly this doesn't seem to be the case. Doesn't seem to be (m)any Japanese speakers/readers here.
  13. And the next one will be $20 more than this one... and so on and so on... Or am I too cynical?
  14. Contact them directly... they can usually get hold of watches that may not be on their sites or sections...
  15. Great! I'm glad they kept that little attention to detail on that part
  16. I love this watch! It looks really good. About the chrono. It looks like the bottom counter starts with the hand pointing downwards towards the 6 o'clock marker. Is this how it is, and does the chrono work that way? Enjoy the watch!
  17. They tend to service the Japanese market. I've never successfully managed to order anything from them, or get any replies to emails, so good luck... let me know if you hear anything. There was an English site they had, but the guy running it scammed people and disappeared. Don't know if they are still related to Watchonpo.. so just a FYI. Also, Watchonpo have been known to commission watches in the past, such as the best case version of the PAM187 (look for kruzer's reviews and comparisons) although it was in the early days of the Asian 7750 and it had the low beat version, which at the time had question marks. They've also managed to get exclusive watches that no one else has - eg. is the aforementioned PAM187 and also the PAM194, which they are the only ones to have in titanium. The collectors on here, sadly, have it only in incorrect stainless steel.
  18. I had one of these but UPS stole it I never even got to hold it
  19. I'm guessing from your name, you could be Japanese... have you ever ordered from them ? I had trouble ordering... help would be appreciated if you have time
  20. Silix already seem to have a version out... same one? Any good?
  21. I hope Mark gets the closed back version, or even the first version but at his much better prices.
  22. Try silix or narikaa, they are both good at getting these cheaper versions.
  23. I see Watchmark has a cheaper version of the HBB Tuiga. It looks good (and the slower beat movement may even be conducive to a tri-compax ETA swap) however the big problem I can see is the case back is not the solid engraved one. It's hard to tell from the pictures but it looks like the carbon fibre dial (I have seen the $1000+ version with a smooth dial before). Does anyone know where to get just the case back ? Any thoughts?
