I have no internet at home at the moment I'm saving these threads and taking them home to read, and I'll let you know next week, but I'm interested. Also I will need to find out where and how to remove my crystals. Thanks!

For an ETA watch, Silix have the Cartier Santos 100 at $128 on special offer at the moment! For a non-ETA look at their Franck Muller Vegas watch.. one of the good cheapies... And then narikaa's... I got a Xemex Offroad which is great
-
I'd be interested depending on cost and whether I can afford it. I may well have a few to do. I don't know how to remove the crystal though.

I agree... this religious fervour mimics that in the Middle East... in a so-called "developed" country while the other is labelled "3rd world" so what gives here? Religion should be kept out of politics...

I like the watches made with U-Boat steel... sadly UPS stole my $2k Sinn

Notting Hill Carnival in London usually has more people... 1.5 million plus. Sadly someone was shot this year and another was stabbed

I don't agree with that. With many kids, it may be good, but I don't like how it can engender too much nationalism and hatred of other countries eg. the Middle East etc. What happens to people who don't fit in to the army? And not even for behaviourial reasons. Not too long ago, a black man in the army was stripped and sprayed with water by his "buddies" to clean the colour off him. In these cases, it can scar that person and lead to worse in the future. I know these incidences may be rare (or maybe not? we really don't know), but army produces conformity and no original thought. Do we want a nation of Daleks ?

The only place I like chilli sauce is at Bosphorus here in London... every other place I've been to I don't like their chilli sauce and have garlic sauce instead... francais, non? Maybe if I ever visit my cousins in Paris, I will go and try it... but forego the chips. I've piled on too much weight since my injury in December, and now I am ok to start playing again, I have had a virus for the past 3 weeks frustration! -
Tony Blair lied a bit about the reasons for going to war in Iraq. I guess the millions killed are ok with that. In relation to this, those who received cr@ppy movements in their B&Rs purporting to be ETA 2892s are perfectly happy they paid a premium for said ETA movement. Edit: I'm glad I waited for the early adopters to reveal the sordid truth about the B&R. Those stamped "screws" also kept me away

$300 on dinner? Damn I am poor! Depends if you know where to go... get on the guest lists beforehand and you may go somewhere nice. -

Basically Greek kebabs eh? Come up to North London where I live and you can have the original Turkish (or Kurdish) kebab. I'd like to try that Harissa.. I can easily empty a bottle of tabasco sauce on my food without finding it very spicy Oh and falafel is originally a Palestinian Arab dish which the Israeli Jews took to, but for some reason it is labelled a Jewish dish now. -

Copied and pasted from my post on RC: In London, you have lots of expensive places in Knightsbridge, near to where you'll be staying. There's also Harrods you can go see, and the Burburry shop opposite if you like them. Oxford Street is the major shopping street which stretches for miles and New Bond Street has watch boutiques like the Omega shop, Watches of Switzerland, Cartier etc I have no idea where to get reps from, they'll be pretty poor though. Maybe you can order from some UK/EU based dealers while you're here. PreciousTime once delivered next day to ordering.... on Xmas day! For food, you have the best kebab shop in London in South Kensington called "Bosphorus" but they close around 10.30-11pm. I used to go there all the time while at university. If you want to go to Hampstead, there is a place called "Gaucho Grill" right by the tube station that serves succulent beef from Argentina. Covent Garden has lots of restaurants too... there is one place called Woolfe's that has beef from Japan. Chinatown is by Leicester Square tube station, and Islington has quite a few places to eat as well. Pascha is a Turkish restaurant which is pretty good. There is a Brasilian restaurant there where the waiters go around with skewers of meat and cut it onto your plate... but it's busy in the weekends and probably not the best time to go as they come around infrequently. If you haven't tried Indian food, and like spicy food, you have to try it here. There are good ones all over. Easy ones to try, and reasonably priced, are Khan's in Bayswater - a popular one for students. There is one near Warren Street tube station but it is down the back streets so maybe not a good idea. Doesn't even look like a restaurant as it just has simple tables and no decoractions but the food is great value and filling. Hope that helps a little. Edit: good Lebanese restaurants in Edgeware Road which is not far from where you'll be. If you go to Hammersmith after a late night clubbing or whatever, there is a Lebanese restaurant there that stays open very late and is pretty decent. Oh yeah don't forget to drop the girl round my place so I can keep her busy Which days will you be here? -
Considering the problems with the watch, and the inherent problems with the Big Bang.. I can only offer you a maximum of $200 ... and that is probably stupid on my part! Taking apart the watch may render it unusable due to the poor quality of the hands which could break (see The Zigmeister's posts).

it's a question of finding parts. ETA parts will (hopefully) still be availabe in future to service ETA movements... with these Asian movements, it's a cr@p shoot. Where do you find parts for the older Asian 7750 movements now it has been superceded by the so-called "b1" movement? Where do you find parts and hands for the "b1" movement if you can't send it to someone like The Zigmeister, and even then he has limited spare parts. -
Solid 18k gold Franck Muller Casablanca... they'll set you back $1700+ though. EL had them and Silix had some too (if you ask nicely)... otherwise there may not be any available. Solid gold won't give you the intrinsic problems with plated reps. If you can afford it...

Gen PAM Crowns - No More Requests Being Accepted
Chronus replied to Watchmeister's topic in The Panerai Area
Me! I could try it on a 192. Any news on which these work for? Will it work on 7753s, 2892s and 2893s? -
The PP Nautilus is already inaccurate, so why not make it more so? As long as you enjoy it. I have to get in on these runs at some point too.
