  1. The rlx effect wears off pretty quickly... and no one notices that you are wearing it apart from you
  2. Liverpool's Rafa Benitez buys a new watch for his wife after winning a major trophy ... hopefully 4 watches for her by next May
  3. I started off looking for rep Rlx's to impress a girl (!) and now I don't think I would ever consider that brand... rep or even genuine. There is so much better out there. So it may be a good idea (as others have said) to try used ones first, unless you have lots of cash and it doesn't matter if you waste it ... in which case, can I have some ?
  4. If I were you, I would contact the dealer and tell him you don't want this water-proofing done and to refund that portion of it. Use that money to get it tested once you receive it.
  5. I saw the friendly match between Real Madrid and Cadiz, and Bernd Schuster, the new Real Madrid coach, appeared to be wearing a rubber-clad bezel AP ROO on his right wrist. It was hard to make out as they don't tend to focus on the coaches, but it looked like a black hexagonal bezel on his watch
  6. The MBW/MBK Royal Oak Jumbo is available from non-cartel dealers
  7. There was the "little white lies" thread... and Slay has his signature in plane site. The afore-mentioned thread seemed to fritter out with too many people not wanting to lose their fix from their dealer of choice... or so it seems.
  8. It's something I would give real consideration... there is a seller on ebay that is selling these gold bezels at $800 a shot - probably higher than if you had it made yourself. I may try if I can get some money in sometime.
  9. Perhaps you could look into Archibald's method and have your own ... especially as there is a slimmer chance of getting scammed by any unscrupulous dealers
  10. Indeed, but Archibald's way of getting a bezel cast sounds better value than looking for the discontinued (what appears to be a) TW Best two tone Cartier Santos 100.
  11. Ask Mr. Tourbillon .. I think he had some a while ago. Maybe he still does. As for the watch you mention, I thought only the Venus "Lemania" chrono was available ? Which dealer has this non-chrono version ?
  12. There are the lovely pictures
  13. Will get some pics up later, still at work now. By the weekend at the latest.
  14. We'll have to see this develops. If we get lucky, perhaps Chieftang can be a good source in North America, then the one in Australia, and hopefully somewhere in Europe too. I sent chieftang a PM last night, so hopefully he mails me sometime and we'll see where we go from there.
  15. What do you mean by that? Could you get one done for me ? Archibald - Email me about this and the PVD.
  16. If you search you'll find info on this. A couple of people picked it up. There seems to be 2 versions. One with the correct silvery white dial (current version) and the first batch seems to have a more beige-white dial. Otherwise it seems that it's spot on.
  17. To add some more details, though I don't know the whole process the whole way through, it would entail: 1) acid dipping; 2) micro bead blast 3) PVD coating If ou prefer RBJ's go ahead with that, after the "blowing the dust off the dial" I've always been wary with that one. Originally, I'd planned to ask finepics to get my 028 PVD'd as well as a Jimmy case project, but as this is not possible (and he was chargng around $110-120 I think after arranging a repeat deal) I want to finally get it done. The problem is one single piece is $170-200, but with more volume there could be scope to get it cheaper, it just depends how many. Willith, I think you are in Australia (am I correct?) so getting your handgun done should be fine. I would be wary of sending it overseas, but you would know more about gun laws etc than I will.
  18. Just a quick post to see if anyone would be interested in having their watches PVD coated a la PAM028. It'll have to be sent in disassembled. Imagine your PAMs (especially 028 and projects) or Subs and SMPs, even FMs PVD'd ... a great look! Basically, the more volume, the lower the price could be, but at present the cost is around 170-200 possibly additional return shipping from Australia. Any interest, please post here. Thanks!
  19. If it's full gold, it sounds cheap. The solid gold Franck Muller Casablanca was going for around $1700 at the time (you may find the odd dealer like Silix able to get it but it may cost more with the falling dollar). That FM did not have a bracelet and came on a strap with gold buckle. A full gold datejust with bracelet should cost more, just in gold content alone, so I would be suspicious. You're better off getting the parts from eBay or other reputable sellers and get it put together.
  20. A rep display case back may involve stick on letters that are liable to come unstuck and foul up the movement. Otherwise it may be engraved (if you're lucky) or it may have a metal plate stuck on to the rotor.
  21. Thanks for the help. I think I may be reliant on my friend who has been there for around a month now perfecting her Italian. I'd like to see that architecture, and hopefully there may be some ancient ruins... and hopefully the nightlife and parties are good too Apparently it is very hot there, while it's been raining here today.
  22. Watchonpo already has it. The genuine has a titanium case, but the bezel is SS. I wonder if they just took the SS bezel from the one all dealers are selling, or if they made a proper bezel in the style of the 187 with screwed in markers?
  23. I think you want it... same thing happened to me til I got one
  24. Give me that old case titanium Breitling Chrono Avenger with genuine dial and this ETA 7750 installed and I'll go for it
