Diamond dial is the thickest dial to clear for the hands. I never had to use another cannon pinion for my frankens, all where 160xx's (acryllic crystal), all stickmarker dials and all fitted with standard eta 2836.
I also forgot , Did you use the Mr. Stilty conversion ring .. for your 160xx/3035 ..2836-2 frankens ? Thank you

Thanks .. so, looks like best way is to go with 2836-2 in a 160xx/3035 case ...unless youe skilled at replacing the canon pinion

I wish I knew the answer to this as well. Last time I bought a "standard" size 2824 this is what I wound up with.
It sure would be nice if one of you DJ experts need to explain exactly what we should be looking for.
It sure seems to me that the size needed is the largest size made or at least the 2nd to the largest.
Yes from what i have been reading the 2824-2 needs a taller canon pinion ....the 2836-2 is a bit higher "standard"
not sure you can use a 2836-2 in a 162xx case, however you can in a 160xx case

If I use Mr. Stilty conversion ring ... on a 2836-2 16014/3035 ... the cannon pinion standard is 2.70mm on a 2836-2 is this adequate to clear the hour indices on the dial ... Thank you for your time

Roling on ebay ? Is this a store or seller ...pardon I am not familiar with this Roling ...Thank you
-
aahh yea ... that was my original plan ... however, after some consideration ...I thought a replica ..with the correct bezel would be sufficient .... but my dreams smashed ... .... back to plan "A" or plan "1" ...depending on whether or nor your alphabetical or numerical type person ... Thanks for taking time to respond
-
yes, thanks for your input as well ... never understood why they make the bezel so wide ... gives away the whole watch ...instantly ...anyway a shame because i really like the datejust watches .... o well ..thank you again
-
Yes, that's what I was thinking .... Thanks for your input
-
Hello , Anyway does anyone know if the bezel can be removed on a replica datejust , If so will a genuine bezel fit ...All of the replica bezel's seem to be improper size on the datejust... I know this is probably not enough information ..However, any knowledge on the subject would be greatly appreciated .. Thank you

Yes , the rolex 3035 movement is a bit over 6mm high ...as compared to the 4.6mm high 2824-2 .... so the case tube location on the original rolex case 16013 ... has to be around .60 mm higher than the stem location on the 2824 movement ...so, the movement needs to lifted that amount or close to...only way is to space the dial ...then you need a taller CP ..only way ... thats true ...Thank you
-
Thank you for the reply .... don't know where you find the time .. LOL
-
Nice job... .... is the taller cannon pinion with dial spacer ...so the hands fit ... or to raise the movement in the case for proper stem and case tube alignment ?
-
wow . thats a beauty ...maybe i need one of those too
-
