  1. Hi there FxrAndy! I still have the button, or rather it contains of a three-piece assembly. There is a small spring, and the top of the button (visible), kind of a small ring with a smaller bead locked inside, and then there is a bottom ring. All those came loose when I tried to put it back in the hole where the spring and the rest of the cr*p was before. I found some pictures on Paneristi forum: http://www.network54.com/Forum/353391/thread/1313931714/1314080204/Has+anyone+had+problems+with+the+quick+change+system+parts- But, of cource, those answers qualify for a GEN assembly, and not necessarly for the REP assembly. Put the bits and pieces looks like the one in the link above. Is it possible to glue the outside ring into the rim of the hole, avoiding getting glue on the inner moveable parts and spring? Or do I need a new assembly? The darnest thing is, I am not able to use the watch, as long as I have this issue. It becomes totally useless, other than as a pocket watch:-)
  2. Good evening guys. F**k it, please do not answer me "you will find your answers on the forum, try the search button" - It will not work, I have search this and all forums, used the words "strap release button", "PAM quick strap release button" etc. etc. and the answers will not come. So, please, share your knowledge, pleeeeaaase
  3. Good afternoon to all fellow members. I just spent half an hour making a kind of homemade/custom/stock strap combo, I think it is a little military style. Made it with the strap (which I think it is a little flimpsy, not rugged enough for the watch) that comes along with the PAM, and part of an old waist belt. Eyecandy?
  4. Hi guys. I think I am fu**ed - the date font on my GEN SOSF is not perfectly centered
  5. Hi guys, thanks for all nice words I checked the correct time against timeserver today on the web. My SOSF was set by the AD on Monday and until today it has gained only 4 secs! Even if considering it is COSC, I am impressed Happy weekend!
  6. Very very nice I love the brushed version, and as far as I know, this is the only model with a brushed pilot bracelet. All the other models with pilot bracelet are polished (= smudgemagnets!) From your pic, I notice it has exact looking pearl like my GEN Steelfish . One of the things the repmakers never seem to make right.
  7. Hi! I just got the GEN Steelfish (black dial) - compared with my old rep Steelfish (blue dial), I am shocked about the quality of the rep from 4 years ago. Some minor diff on the case chape etc. but I think they really got the new rep very nicely, also with superlume. I think it is a top 5 from the current selection among "super-reps". I also have the rep SS V3 SA (black dial batton markers). The SA is huge compared to the fish, and a lot heavier (more than 1 ounce, or about 45 metric grams). It weighs 250 grams resized, while the rep Steelfish is 204 grams. GEN fish is 217 grams resized to my size. Also the SA is A7750, while you can have Swiss ETA on the rep fish - ETA will probably be more reliable, also, since it is a non-chrono. Since you are talking about the blacksteel, you will not have issues with the smudgemagnet polished surfaces of the standard SA, and the bling factor is not so high, but it is still a very substantial sized piece, all though not so heavy, since it is on a rubber strap. Happy decision.
  8. Hi there, congrats on a GEN Pilot Bracelet Hope it will fit nice. Another question is, how much did that cost where your're at? Reason I ask is because I just picked up the newest Breitling catalogue 2012 from my AD a few weeks back, and got the pricelist (prices in NOK incl. VAT), and the Pilot bracelet 22/20 costs 10,000NOK - that is about 1,600USD (One thousand Six Hundred USD!)... I hope you got it way less than that, otherwise you could almost have picked up a nice GEN watch at that price, at least a nice used one
  9. Hi again. Adding some lume-shots. This is what gen superluminova looks like. As I spoke of yesterday, IMO difference between the gen and rep bracelet, it is not worth 500-700 USD buying a gen bracelet from an AD, to make a franken. I have not seen the recent remake of the rep (with superlume), but my old one (swiss 2836-2) has a slightly more rounded shaped case, and there are some small differences in the CG area. Also the crown looks slightly bigger on the rep, as well as the pearl, which is easy to spot, but only when you have both at hand to compare. Also bezel looks a little thicker on the GEN, I guess due to the very thick (6mm) crystal. If you were to make a franken without blowing away too much cash, I suggest getting a gen dial, and new AR on the crystal. The dial makes all the difference, and the AR is of course very good on the gen, but still has a blue hue, so colorless AR on a rep would not be true to make it look GEN.
  10. Yeah, you are all right - the blue is the rep, the black is not But, I was really scared when I saw how good this 4 year old rep was, considering I compare to the GEN at hand. Oh, and by the way, not worht the money buying a GEN bracelet. It is not that much better, slightly better finish and fit, quality wise not much different.
  11. Happy May-day to all fellow members Here I have made some pics for you all to enjoy (responsably). So which is GEN? Black or blue?
  12. Hi folks. Was looking at some QC-examples on two of our TD (trusted dealers) sites, same model watch. Looks like the QC-pics were taken at the exact same spot /location, as the timegrapher machine is the exact same (look at the white spot at the cable connector, where the watches are attached, and the dirt on the power-on switch on the timegrapher machine. Pictures are from the exact same place. So, many theories have been made about these cooperating in some fashion (working together, cartel and so on...), or even beeing the same person under different alias. Also, when the sites of these dealers sometimes go down, they always both do... Examples: look at the SMPO Ultimate (42mm black bezel, orange arabics 6, 9, 12) as seen here: http://imgur.com/a/lURP5 (PC) and here: http://imgur.com/a/9SY8l (TT). So what does this mean? Either what I (and others in the past) suggested, that they work together, or are the same person under different alias, or that the people making the QC-pictures, sit on one location, that both dealers get their items from. Also the pics on their sites (at least for this particular model) are exact the same. The time on the watch displayed on each site section for this model, shows the exact same time at the second(!). So, maybe they share the same purchasing stock, to have bigger volume and higher attention at their suppliers, or it is just a matter of sharing business among them, and not being actual competing rivals. Conclusion seems to me, if you order from either, you more or less can expect to get the same price, same service and same benefits (or problems)? Am I right or wrong?
  13. Hello Gran Do you really think that Sondre is actually wearing a cheap rep, seems kind of strange, when he is in such company with Yousef (AP ROO), Magne (Milgauss) and Thomas and Harald (SMPO), but they have maybe not any clue about watches either? There is several real tourby watches with such "attachment", I am thinking of the small horisontal bar on top of the tourby balance wheel, i.e. Breguet: http://www.google.no/imgres?imgurl=http://timkastelle.org/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/breguettourbillon.jpg&imgrefurl=http://timkastelle.org/blog/2011/12/avoid-fatal-business-models/&h=413&w=390&sz=66&tbnid=a9FTdjxB8Iv1bM:&tbnh=90&tbnw=85&prev=/search%3Fq%3DBreguet%2BTourbillon%26tbm%3Disch%26tbo%3Du&zoom=1&q=Breguet+Tourbillon&docid=oEx-aMfMXxpH8M&hl=nn&sa=X&ei=Mg-VT7b-KKrP4QT__cTQDw&ved=0CEAQ9QEwBQ&dur=2749 Do you have an example of a rep "faux tourby", that looks like something Sondre is wearing? I am just so damn curious to try and solve the "mystery" about this particular watch he is wearing. I can hardly stop thinking about it, almost like a "crime mystery" you are trying to understand in a book and just want to go to the last page, because you do not have the patience to wait
  14. The guy wearing this watch, is good for many millions. He has been recording and selling albums like newbaked bread, since his late teens (over a decade), also quite successful in the US the latest years. So no doubt he could afford a five or six figured pricetag, I hardly doubt he sports a cheap rep on one of the most popular tv-shows in Norway (seen by a million viewers, 1/5 of the hole population of 5 millions in Norway). But, on the other hand, if it really was a rep, this would be quite interesting. He has been living a few years in NY, so maybe he picket it up at Channel St?
  15. Happy Saturday to all fellow members I hope there is someone out there, that can recognise this watch, hopefully. I spotted it last night, at Norwegian talkshow "Senkveld". The four artists from "The Voice" were interviewed on the show, and all in all it was a nice collection of nice watches. The two hosts, sports each an Omega SMPO (45,5mm), while Magne Furuholmen (former Aha-member) sports a Rolex Milgauss (the new model, with multicolored lume and green sapphire), while Yousef from MadCon, as earlier, also sports the AP Royal Oak Offshore Rosegold, I am not sure, but think it may be a Juan Pablo Montoya Limited Edition. And then is the Question, what watch does Sondre Lerche wear (norwegian songer/singwriter, also quite well known in New York and US)? The show was on HD and I froze the picture trying to get the best angle for taking a few snap shots. It is not very easy to see, other than that it is a steel (or platinum, or white gold) circular case, seems like only a crown and no pushers, and then there is the tourby and multicolored disc like subdials (or is it an open heart balance wheel=?) Black leather strap, quite thick, looks like it is the real deal. Anyone who can recall seeing something that looks similar to this model?
  16. Great Frank Müller there, Gran! Is that a MOP dial? The strap sure looks like real croc or alligator, not the REP strap crap Cheers
  17. Great SFSO there, Chronoluvw - may I ask if that is a GEN? Rare to see any good REP SFSO with arrow second hand, and the 6,9,12 markers also look "too good" to be REP, and AR looks superb also. Cheers
  18. Hello to all and to you, ASCIWhite - As you probably can see, my contribution to todays wristies, chares your imacculate taste in watches - Only, I envy you the strap. That is a great one, where did you get it? Here is mine (forgive, the somewhat contrast to your sunshine theme, mine is more of a colder caracter, this is actually outside here today, on 3rd of April. Spring should be here, but is not seen anywhere at the moment...)
  19. Fabulous Friday to all wristoholics Has already ended the workweek and look forward to more than one week of Easter Holiday here in the upper North The man likes a good watch and a good beer:
  20. Terrific Thursday to all fellow members Here is my Thursday trophy. St.Exupery Big Pilot for the day. Not totally accurate (GEN is Platinum, this one is SS, and the list goes on and on... )
  21. Hi folks. My first ever rep, the Steelfish SuperOcean blue with ETA2836-2 (verified swiss movement) has lasted almost 4 years now. Have been using it a lot. It seems to be a good quality item, this was almost 360USD at the time of purchase.
  22. Happy Little-Saturday folks (that is what we call Wednesday here in Norway). Time for yet another wristomania. Here is my contribution. PAM359 for the day
  23. Happy Tuesday to all fellow members. I am wearing the PAM162F for this special day, my birthday, the big 4 zero
  24. Enjoy your weekend, all fellow members Sporting the "Grosse Fliegeruhr" today, this one a special St. Exupery edition. If someone can call out it's a rep? Perhaps, due to the recess date, but otherwise, IWC only made one (1) of this particular model (Limited Platinum Edition), so hardly the person owning the only one in the world will run into me and say: "Another one, that is impossible!"
  25. Hi all and thanks for the feedback so far One note on the Concord C1, that several of you have commented on: I got it several years ago (2009), it is barely used, cause it is a very special watch, that due to design just is right or just is wrong, depending on what you wear. The AR on this one is one of the best I have ever seen on a rep, and come in mind, this is before they started with the socalled "Swiss Standards colorless AR". It has a slight blue hue, but only at sharp angles. The partly carbon fibre dial has a really nice 3D effect to it, not very easy to catch on a photo. Most of the time, the crystal is not visible at all. Only from the side, since it is raised from the rubber bezel by more than 1mm and you can clearly see the edge at the sides. Kind of cool, really. One colleague of mine tried to touch the dial, thinking there were no crystal at all, or it had fallen off! Kind of rude, getting it all smudgy TIP to clean those AR coated crystals - use a throw-away cleaning cloth for LCD computer displays. It does not harm the coating, and if it is the right kind (not the cheapest stuff), the solvent evaporates, leaving a smuge-and dustfree surface and a perfect AR appearance. The cloths comes in small boxes with typical 100 pcs, use and throw away. If you use a cloth meant for repeated use, you have the risk of the cloth picking up dirt and small grains of dust or stuff, risking to scratch the AR surface. I did with my SFSO, using a super-duper microfibre cloth, meant for cleaning syntetic sunglass lenses. It was dirty, so ending up some tiny scrathes on my SFSO, and I had just gotten it! I was really angry at my self. No same mistake twice.
