  1. I have one on order, Il do a review when it's here. Looking forward to this one!
  2. Excellent work there! I wish they still sold this case set, the He valve and the crown guards are really good. The CG's are slightly too big allowing them to be shaped, whereas the new ones are too shallow which doesn't allow for modding
  3. That video really adds another dimension to the pictures. If you get a chance, could you take a comparison photo with a Submariner? Interested to see how they wear on the wrist together!
  4. Thanks. Im trying her to join the forums, and she almost did until a forum member recently changed their name to 'Watchdog', it scared her away Long live Nokias! Love that IWC picture, especially that detailed close up! Thanks Laz!
  5. It is an awesome looking watch, nothing else quite like it, but I can't help thinking it is rather ugly? I can't quite put my finger on it... it's kind of like a Lamborghini Countach, I like them, but I think they're ugly, yet beautiful in their own right.....its hard to explain
  6. Laz, congratulations on both the watch aand the posts. Im looking forward to the next 2k! The UN is a true beauty, one of the nicest divers out there. I love the silver dial, it is just so unique. Wear it well!
  7. It's with a Nokia N95. Some of my older reviews were done using the same phone. It's pretty good for a phone, I was considering buying a proper camera but until this thing packs up I think Il stick with it.
  8. Or is it an imposter pretending to be the member we cannot name? Like the new name though....as Andreww says, any reason for choosing that particular name?
  9. Football is a strange one. Growing up I supported Liverpool as that was who my uncle supported and we used to watch the games together. It used to be about passion, intense rivalry, and certainly in my teenage ages it was all about trying to topple Manchester Utd from their top spot. Everything they did in the 90's turned to gold! Now we're at the end of the first decade of the millenium, and it's about sponsorship, amateur dramatics and money. The game has changed and evolved, so much. The teams used to be predominantly made up of British players, now they're in the minority. This brings good and bad things to the game. Firstly, the good things include incredible skill from the continental Europeans and South American's, a much faster game, and a lot more variety. The bad things include petty diving to get people booked, our national team suffering through lack of youthful players coming through the teams and managers changin hands like they're going out of fashion. As for the game of football itself, many ask why I don't enjoy rugby....well I think because I was brought up on football and have played my whole life I just think it is a beautiful game to watch. There is nothing like seeing a team thread some quick short passes only to see their efforts rewarded by the ball being slammed into the back of the net. Furthermore, where else can you go, and say exactly the same thing at exactly the same time as 30,000 other people and not think that's a phenomena haha I think the best meeting is when Celtic play Liverpool. They have the same team song (You'll never walk alone). Without a doubt it is one of the most amazing things you'll ever hear.....60,000 people singing the same song in a stadium! Onto the rioting.....some people look at their football team as a religion. It is really a passion that they feel very strong about. It is like a family to some people. They go overboard, fights break out, people get injured, or sometimes worse, there are fatalities. However, the media in the UK is an abomination. They love to portray everything British in a negative way. I have been to lots of football games and never have I witnessed anything other than heartfelt support, and good natured banter (which can include one or two swear words Il have you believe haha) However, when things trun bad, the media makes it out to be the start of World War 3 and the whole world gets to know about it. If you want to go to a match brawl, hedge yor bets at a Millwall game As for the best team in the world, wow that's a tough one. For consistency over the years, teams such as Manchester United, Barcelona, Real Madrid and I would have to say Liverpool because I support them and I am very biased
  10. The genuine dial is of great quality. All the small details are just that much better, which create a whole different effect to the rep dial. However, for the price, it is quite a lot to spend in my personal view. I would rather put it towards buying another watch. However, if you really like the watch, many have modded their Planet Ocean's with genuine parts to make really good franken watches.
  11. I was getting bored of revision, so I decided to pop outside in the sunshine and take a few shots with my phone. Hope everyone is having a good day.....roll on the weekend!
  12. http://www.jpc8118.com/0587-p-5963.html I must say, it looks fantastic. Im not usually keen on rubber straps on this kind of watch, but the whole thing just screams quality! Must resist, must resist!!
  13. Nice one Yellomen, without a doubt that is the best 3714 replica (franken) I have ever seen. Re - the AR, although the serial number on the caseback would suggest the watch comes with that crystal and crown, the actual dial is from the newer series which would have had AR. So I suppose it depends whether you want to match the AR with the serial number or the dial. Not many people would know either way, so it's defintely down to personal preference.
  14. Unfortunately I think the ones you have already found are set a pretty much 'standard' price. I don't think you'll find an example of that quality for a lot cheaper. Personally, my sentiments reflect Morlock's. Although the box is nice, after a while I get sick and tired of putting it in, taking it out, putting it in, taking it out.....save your money
  15. I have never been a massive fan of the Nautilus, although completely respecting it for the marvel that it is, the design never grew on me. However, I think that is about to change, these new dials look great!
  16. This one is based on the UPO so it is a great replica, with minimal flaws. As for the ETA movement, both of these dealers dropship, so they cannot guarantee it is Swiss. Although they will offer you recourse if it isn't. If you want genuine ETA, I would advise buying from someone like Bk, or Eurotimez who actually checks the watch first. Alternatively, buy one that is a confirmed asian clone and save yourself some money, in my opinion, the ETA is not worth the premium!
  17. When you say 5th version, is that the 42mm that Pam111 advertises, or is it the 5th generation 45mm PO? (If you have a link to it that may be useful) If it is the predecessor to the UPO, then the 5th generation is not as accurate. From what I can remeber, the He valve isn't placed correctly, and the date font isn't as good....there were some other differences, but I can't remember them
  18. That's what I was thinking, the pearl looks a bit bulbous. Is there a way of replacing these pearls like with the old Sub's with a Watchmaterial, or something similar?
  19. As the title suggests, King has just listed the new TH Carrera but with correct case size, and also double AR. It looks pretty good; I can't seem to link straight to it, but the site is www.kingwatches.net
  20. Another great addition to the collection MP! I may have to take a trip North (well for me its North haha) someday to see this growing collection of yours, you have some really nice pieces!
  21. Both are quite different watches, and although I prefer the PO by a long shot, I would probably go for the DSSD (against everything I believe in haha) The latest DSSD's are built well, they're very accurate, and the proportionate cost to the gen is much smaller than the PO. If the UPO was as accurate as the DSSD rep I'd say the PO, but until that day, I would go for the DSSD.
  22. Unfortunately the subdial spacing is off, the date is incorrectly positioned as well as being sunk, and the quality of the movement isn't as good as the gen (not that we would expect that from a 200USD rep ) As a watch individually it's very nice, looks good on the wrist shots, as a watch as a replication, it's not the best IWC one could purchase, but don't let that put you off buying it, as it is a nice looking watch all the same!
  23. Such a nice watch, congrats! Everytime I see one of these I really miss mine. It looks to be in great condition! Personally I think this is the best Omega out there bar none. Ok it's nothing revolutionary in mechanics or design, but what it has accomplished in terms of becoming an icon is just unrivalled by any other watch. As a divers watch and an everyday wearer, nothing comes close! The bracelet is perhaps the best designed bracelet of any watch I have seen, and it is just so versatile as a whole. Did I mention I love this watch......
  24. Rolex has the best Exp 1 As far as I can remember, the A21j on sale is very good. I remember a lot of people praising this watch, although I'm not a Rolex expert so I'm only going from memory. http://www.jpc8118.com/rlex10001-explorer-...ing-p-2518.html
  25. Congrats on another beautiful gen, the Speedy is a real classic!
