  1. That is very expensive for this strap, as you say you can get the genuine for that price if you shop around! Fair enough pricing the PO version like that, because the genuine is very expensive, but you'd have to be stark raving bonkers to buy that Breitling one haha
  2. It depends why you have bought the watch. If you have bought it to use as a timepiece, and becuase you like teh style of the watch, go for the AR coating, it will improve the look of it. If you bought it to resemble the genuine, don't get AR coating, as it will be less accurate
  3. I think the blue and gold is the nicest comobination, whereas in basic steel, the black is the nicest.
  4. I have found that since my time here and other watch forums, my taste has considerably changed. I used to be very much a Breitling fan, no other watch would do for me. The style was so unique, and the heritage ad link to aviation further kindled the bond I developed with the brand. However, I now really like Omega, perhaps partly due to the Bond link, and being someone who would love to live such an exciting lifestyle (I don't think Im the only one that has at some point really wanted to be the real James Bond.....I hope haha) I am still very much into my steel diving watches, and share a very similar taste as By-tor. However, I have watches such as Breguet, Blancpain and IWC (which I would have termed.....erm....diplomatically - a sophisticated persons watch) have really grown on me, and I would now much rather take a Portuguese over a Navitimer (I know Andreww, I am moving to the dark side haha) As for seeing peoples watches out and about and judging their character based upon these material objects, to a certain extent one can assume certain things, but I would never form an opinion on someone based upon material things, although to a certain extent this perceptual filtering always occurs, sometimes unintentionally.
  5. I wonder if this is an across the board improvement, or just a limited run they are doing?!
  6. Wow, that looks incredible, it is without a doubt up there with the best in terms of out of the box accuracy, no need to change the datewheel now!
  7. AP ROO's don't have anti reflective coatings, not even on the inside as far as I know.
  8. Congratulations on the last exam, and also for the very nice collection! The Navitimer is one of the most stunning watches available (gen or rep) If you are in teh USA - try Chieftang for the double AR If you are in the EU - use k222 As for the servicing and the movement, our resident expert is taking a break as far as I know, so that may have wait for a while. However, I havd my Navitimer relumed by someone in the UIK, and whilst it shone nicely, I would not bothers, as lume on the end of the stick markers is so small, it doesn't give off an impressive glow, and although it makes it slightly easier to read in the dark, it doesn't compare to having something like a 111h relumed. Genuine dials sometimes crop up on ebay, but you might find that with double AR, this replica one is sufficient. The genuine might need a very very tiny amount taken off of the outside, to reduce the diameter before it fits. As for the datewheel try Lello, he produces the Breitling datewheel Personally to get a very very close to genuine Navitimer I would spend on the follwing; Double AR Lello Datewheel and a service for reliability The dial and the relume I wouldn't worry about personally
  9. Wow, they really screwed this case back up!
  10. Yep, his dear departed dad left him a rep
  11. 1) Silix bought out the basic Heritage replica - very very good replica 2) The 7750 chrono replica was released - good replica - in my opinion not as nice 3) Another factory releases the same replica as 1), which looks to be more accurate than 1) 1 + 3 are replica's of the same watch, but from different factories 2 are from the same factory, and only one version exists
  12. Personally I would buy it on the bracelet, and then purchase the rubber as an extra, it works out slightly cheaper doing it that way around. That way you can swap and change. I think it would sell just as easily on the rubber or the bracelet, there is a market for both. If you are considering selling it in a years time, it might be worth buying second hand, that way if you do, you won't lose as much money, they are quite frequently sold on TZ
  13. Very good review, thanks for sharing
  14. I do hope the movement will be reliable like the seconds at 3, and not a paper weight like the seconds at 6.......
  15. Lovely shots! What camera was she using? I love photography, it's all about capturing the essence of the moment, and she has two perfect examples there!
  16. Brilliant review, it is a very striking watch, wear it well!
  17. The strap isnt that expensive I dont think, but the deplyment pushes the price up to around that. Just go to ebay and type in breitling rubber strap, also try authenticwatches.com
  18. I wish they still made this case, a gen insert and this is one great Omega replica!
  19. Officially the DB8 was termed as the V8 Vantage, it is seen as the little bother to the DB9, but I think it is the more attractive of the two, slightly more compact, not a bad line on it!. That Maserati is stunning, I am awaiting the new Alfa too....
  20. Very nice, that Pam looks monstrous compared to the Rollies, even when taking into account the camera angle!
  21. 'What the Duece' It is an uncanny resemblance
  22. I used to own a UPO, and I loved it, but it was slightly too big for me after wearing the SMP. I prefer the black with white as it is so simple and classy looking (as well as being the latest watch to be used by Bond), but as you have a Sub, the Orange bezel may be the one to go for. But I wouldnt let that affect your decision too much, definitely go for the one you prefer the look of rather than choosing the orange because it would fill a gap.
  23. The blue SMP is in my opinion one of the greatest watches ever made!
