  1. Hi Tommy, glad to see you are back, and sorry for your loss. I held off the first batch, but based on what you said, these second revision crowns sounds promising. Let's see what happens then. take care
  2. can someone clarify in the photo, who is who in those photos in flickr? just some general introduction will do. too bad I don't live in Cali anymore, otherwise I would have attended for sure. looks like a great gathering guys
  3. Hi Big, how is the lume on the watch? any lume shots available? Thanks in advance.
  4. now before I post, do really bad reps count? I have some god awful ones from my mom that she got in China, man are they bad! so I just wanted to confirm that. I may even need to go to my basement to do a real count, to make the number accurate of course! let me know what you guys think.....
  5. Hi Chris, do you mean you don't remember where the watch came from, or where the crown came from?
  6. is that a lello crown, with davidsen's capped hands, chris?
  7. If you build it, they will come!! well, if they would ever show up that is. well boys, I say let's not rush into anything yet. But it would certainly be interesting to see if other dealers start offering the swiss version too. the plot thickens......well, not quite. http://www.aspire-eshop.com/product_info.p...d07241deb6b5302 http://www.aspire-eshop.com/product_info.p...bbf542e0275b200
  8. Jaymoi, make sure when you change the date, it is not between, was it 8pm to 4am guys? I do not remember completely, but the 7750, whether asian or swiss, will engage into date change gear during those times, and you are not supposed to try to change dates during those times. if you try to force it, you will end up breaking the movement, which could explain (possibly) why your watch is not working. please take that into advice.
  9. where can we get pam buckles like those? can someone pm me or let me know how we can source them? thanks.
  10. I'm no daytona expert either, but just by judging what Darth has thus far, I can pretty much guess that it is the real deal. Here is Darth, proud owner of some of the best gens we know, and all of a sudden he is going to run out and get a cheap TT Rolex with day-date? Sure, that is the likely guess that I will have. buy a cheap day-date fake Daytona, when I have a 8 day laying around, that makes a lot of sense. But hey, if Donald Trump is wearing anything on him, I would think they are all real, well, except his hair of course.
  11. So finepics, short tubed gold 127 hands, no cap. sounds about right? as for 11 hands, will they work as well, if I order short tubed, or no? Thanks in advance.
  12. is that the asian 7750 or the swiss? just curious, and I wonder how long I can resist the temptation.....lol
  13. Gmail is still through invitation only. but if someone really need a gmail account, they can just go click on the link at the bottom, where it said "sign up for gmail using your mobile phone" and they will send you a confirmation via SMS, and you'll be able to sign up for a gmail account.
  14. I have asked David on the lume on the hands and the dials, he did confirm it with me that his dial is not super lumed, his hands however, are superlumed. So I think I will get the hands (no cap) and have Rob to relume the dial so the hands and dial will match, and hope Rob can apply what Finepics had been saying, maybe filing down the minute hand tube. Thanks everybody for their feedback.
  15. That sucks Joshua, hope cwai's suggestion will get you some resolution on this. what a bunch of crooks.....
  16. Hi Rob, Thanks for the post. Did you happen to have David's 127 dial and hands (without cap) and see if this address the non recessed pin issue? Finepics said that he had ordered the standard hands and worked with them, and it got rid of the recessed pin issue, so was wondering if you had luck on sourcing those for experiment. Thanks!
  17. Hi Chronus, How about that Marcos Bhagdatis, are you guys really happy to have a national tennis hero? looking back at the Australian open, he was a breath of fresh air, kind of reminds me of good ol' Guga Kuerten. Just thought I mention it.
  18. I actually have dealt with this gentleman on ioffer before, before I found this forum of course. His name is Mike (Mac) and he is very pleasant to deal with, based out of TX. and He does overnight shipping if he has the watch in stock that is. So I would recommend him. But it certainly does not hurt to wait a while until our dealers carry them. Good luck!
  19. Hey Ubi, On these Chinese copy subs, are the date mag really at 2.5X? that was always one of my big concerns. I have a ETA sub from Paul, crappy insert/pearl, and too large of a date mag in my estimation, so I was thinking about getting a chinese sub, and utilize the case entirely, and its dial, since the ETA subdial's 12 hour triangle marker is a tad misaligned, but keep the main ETA movement and its datewheel. Would I have any concerns with this project? Thanks for your feedback in advance.
  20. Chronus, with the 217, the engraving seemed to be the problem with a lot of the reps out there. they are often engraved with "officine panerai" like they would do on any other cotes de geneve plating, but since it is a destro, the engrave is reversed. so the lettering should be in the upper left corner, instead of the bottom right corner. every swiss 6497 that I saw that is on the 217 have the engraving wrong. i would say the best bet for sandwich would be the ultimate 1950 with sapphire, or 4th edition. but they are hard to come by, and if they are available, it is often pricey, for a rep. good luck.
  21. the 036 is more accurate without a doubt. However, Joshua's, along with some other dealers' 036, all have a misaligned dial issue, meaning the dial is not completely straight. a few members on the board have this watch, and they said they did not mind. good thing about Josh's 036 that he sells, is that it's got non recessed pin, and a great crown. You have to think how much it would bother you with a misaligned dial. and the seconds dial is not centered correctly on the dial also. if it weren't for those minor flaws, it would be the most accurate pam rep yet.
  22. offshore, you can always ask rob to see if he wants a project, but he is so busy, so i doubt he will want to tackle this. i'd say just give to someone who wants to take a shot, at least we know the case is probably not too bad....
  23. If I were to venture a guess, I would say that it is fake. I have never seen any of the Breitlings have a 6 o'clock subdial with red hands. But I have seen reps have that. Also, you have the grand date at 12 o'clock position. the date font of that seemed to be a tad small, and if you do have a watch based on grand date, what is a separate date wheel doing there? it seemed out of place, so I would say it is a rep, and that's an educated guess. hope that helps.
  24. LOL, rocket. you always provide the best shot of your pam, well put, is that ok to say in here? congrats on the placement of the watch....
  25. Can't wait Rob. so you have actually ordered David's 127 dial and hands that have no caps, is that right? This sounds exciting, and hopefully promising. Eagerly await your reviews.....
