  1. now an even better deal at $1450 + shipping. so, who wants that gen?
  2. I did not know that breitling source has a sale forum there. I'd be sure to check it out. thanks BT.
  3. yes Vly, I agree with others, and try to sell it via the gen forums. if you take it to an AD, they will pay you less than what you would get from the forums, and then jack up to a higher price and sell it to their customers. good luck, and having been at the gen forums for a bit, and I hate to admit this, rolex holds their value better than other brands. don't ask me why, but that's just something that I have noticed. good luck.
  4. it could be gen.....but, I don't think it is brand spanking new. It definitely looks like it has been worn before. FYI.
  5. Great review BT as always. I have the ultimate BCE panda dials, but I have been wearing the SOSF all week. either are great watches. you are right on the mark with the bracelet. it is just too bling for most people. unless I am rapping at a concert, (and I do not do that often enough, let's put it that way), I just don't see how cool is wearing a watch that bling, which was the original reason why I sold my Navitimer.....lol I am hoping to source a gen blackbird, so I think I may sell my ultimate BCE at some time. Thanks for taking the time to write up the review.
  6. mac, sounds like you got yourself all set up with zig. Once you get it back, you will be blown away of how great the watch looks. I am kind of with Ubi, there are some stuff reps just can't avoid, due to lack of QC. but if and when a watch comes with crooked markers, then I'd have a big problem with it. good thing for you, is that since you are sending out to zig, all of those problems should go away. please do post a pic of the "finished" product. and congrats!
  7. so this is a pretty good version BT? I'd like to think so, but need to get your confirmation! yes dovo, the ar is quite good, with not over the top blue hues. it is no chief AR, then again what is? even the gen AR is not as nice as chief's in my opinion. I'm kind of curious as to what silix's swiss fish's AR would look like. I will try to take a front straight on shot for you dovo, like you did with the comparo.....
  8. well guys, my swiss fish has arrived. after I canceled my order from silix. I was going to place an order with angus. he told me the factory are out of stock and will not get the order filled in a month. I then took a shot at josh, and asked him if he has sfso in stock. josh told me he did, and the rest was history. I placed my very first order with josh. I ordered the watch on 3/4, and 2 hours later, I received a tracking number. got the watch picked up yesterday, and here is the pic: I think this version is closer to the asian version of dovo, with slightly more correct datefont than bt's black dial. mine did not markers also did not look as sticking out as bytor's also. I hope the picture is able to illustrate that. I guess I would say that josh's swiss version is pretty good. what do you guys think? the AR is pretty good, I would say better than my ultimate BCE. but BCE's crystal is more curved, so perhaps they are the same, and the lume is better than typical rep. I think that perhaps I might not even have to send it to Canada.
  9. I just came across this thread like Ubi did. fantastic write up indeed SD. Thank you for taking the time to write, and test these!
  10. Hi Arthur, Good to hear from you. I still remembered to this date, that one of my very first PM was to you in the old RWG I believe, which you led me to the Zigman, and the rest, as they say, is history. I wish you a speedy recovery. I have taken my health for granted. I am 36, I really don't know why. I am a type 2 diabetic, and I have been sloppy with food and exercising. I was once well within my blood sugar level, but these days, I even take that for granted and have not tested myself as much each day, as I should. This I hope, is a wake up call to me, and many others on the forum. I'll make sure I'll go hit the gym this weekend, and do some cardio and weights. And believe it or not, I have had a prostate exam when I was 32 years old. I suffered a groin injury and one of the urologists that I saw did give me a prostate exam. and wow, was that painful! I remembered that day vividly as well. Thank you for sharing your story, I do thank you from the bottom of my heart. I will now give my healthy lifestyle a reboot right now, and vow to follow through.....
  11. I'll shoot a pm your way when I get mine. thanks BT
  12. Hey Dovo, no, I did not want to take the chance. I sent an email to Silix about my concerns, and how I was afraid that if I receive it and discover all these flaws, then it would be pain for all parties involved. I asked Silix if he can refund the money, and he gladly did so without hesitation. Just for that nice customer service, I have posted a review for silix praising them. I had since sourced the SFSO from another collector. that itself is another story. but this other SFSO that I ordered last night, it has been processed at this time, so I am hoping for a safe journey. Will post more news and thoughts on this later. but, I did have to pay a lot more for this other SFSO, let's just put it that way.....lol
  13. lol, that is so funny. the first thing I thought when I saw Ronin's pic was that "that's some nice datewheel". I'm gonna ask if there are some mods to that DW. but I guess that answers the question. Ronin's got the ultimate mod I see! Congrats, she's a beaut!
  14. here are the pictures that were sent to me. I think there's a big difference between the swiss version of silix, versus the josh/angus/andrew version. I am going to email silix and see if I can get a refund and start over the search for my ultimate SFSO.
  15. one other thing that I have noticed is the seconds hand. On dovo's swiss, the seconds hand's red paint go beyond the square, and into the needle. and the picture I was sent was also like that. however, looking at all of the various ultimate SFSO, none of them have the red paint done that way, beyond the square tip that is. So I am just sad, as I have pretty much confirmed that for sure the factory that does Silix's ultimate version is not the one from say Josh or Angus. just disappointed now, as I'd think I am going to ask for a refund back as I have not taken delivery yet on the watch. what do you guys think?
  16. oh wow, dovo, now i am deeply concerned. my purchase of swiss fish is through silix, and i have asked for him to send me some pictures. he had sent them to me, but I cannot post them here because I am at work. I do think mine is very close to your swiss fish, versus being close to BT's. mine is a black dial, and I was not able to tell the AR too true, because it has that top protective film on in the pictures. I will ask him to see if he can look into it, and perhaps point him into this thread and have him take a look at it himself.....thanks for the nice review.
  17. agree with ubi here. first off, congrats on the watch. personally I would keep the t dial too, if the glow really bothers you, then yes, get a replacement dial. otherwise, wear it with no glow and pride!
  18. Lani, that big bang looks good! I'm wearing BP5004 today. sorry, no wrist shot. I would take one now, but my phone camera can't focus well. apologies.
  19. wow R, you have 2 of these? that is impressive! that panda looks sooo good!
  20. perfect example that I can share is the pursuit of the SFSO for me. and I have posted some insight on the breitling forum here. how do you decide? you have a super rep, for about $300, which is darn close, get some relume by Zig, and if we are super picky, get some Chief AR, and we got a pretty close watch. or, you can go to the gen route, currently, a used SFSO will run you around $1500-$1800. Compare that with the rep, the ratio of 4 to 1 with some mods done is not that big. then you just have to ask yourself, which would I feel better? initially, I really was leaning gen, I kept saying to myself, well, the blue dial does have a big difference between rep and gen, and I can justify that. but anyone who's got the chance to look at some photos by BT on his recent rep or gen purchase of the SFSO, will say, that the rep is one beautiful time piece. Will it feel emotionally different? maybe. but the cost of this rep is relatively "somewhat" close to gen, that if you lean either way, you come out a winner. I think it does depend on the transformation of the rep versus the actual gen. for the SFSO, if you are getting the black dial, you should get the rep, but for the blue and white dial, why not go for the gen when the cost is getting pretty close? I hope I did not just babble 3 paragraphs away, and hope that my post did make some sense! haha
  21. R, what case modifications are needed? just curious, I hope I am not thread crapping. if so, my apology in advance! Thanks guys.
  22. I've been chasing that blue gen for a while but can never closed the deal, if you will. so at this time, I have settled on the black rep. did you buy that brand new BT? can't wait for the review. The reason why I really wanted the blue dial gen was because the dial color is so off on the rep. congrats on your new watch, and I am sure you will wear it well. Edit: Thanks a lot Woody! Thanks all. Let's continue this discussion here. By-Tor
