Sinn U1 PVD today, my first rep and I couldn't be happier.
A question to other Sinn U1 rep and gen owners, does the lume color on the hands match the lume on the dial?
On mine the lume on the dial has a green tint while the lume on the hands is white. Would have been nice if all lume was white.

OK - I installed a new kitchen sink today and I tried to reduce the stutter of my DG 2813. Guess which one I performed successfully. Exactly. My wife is thrilled with her new 'farmhouse' sink and I completely [censored] [censored] the movement, culminating in losing one of the tiny blued screws that hold the winding bridge on.
Just an FYI - getting the winding bridge back on was nigh on impossible - especially after I'd bent back the second hand brake (perhaps a little too robustly!).
Anywho - totally screwed the pooch on this one.
Two options:
Someone can send me a winding bridge screw from their nackered 2813. Someone can send me a junked 2813 movement from which I can remove said screw. Someone can tell me definitively if I can drop a 4813 into this watch or do I have to swap out parts from the 2813 like the canon pinion?
Anybody?
PS: thanks Milsub for the link - I really tried to do this but once the winding bridge was off I couldn't get all the little gears back into their appropriate jewels on the the winding bridge. FRUSTRATING!!
I'm sorry to hear that. But you should probably be ok with just two screws holding the bridge in place. At least untill you can get a replacement.

Here you are: http://forums.watchuseek.com/showthread.php?t=207931
The second hand pinion friction spring is what causes the stutter. You could bend it a little to increase the pressure on the second hand pinion that would make the second hand run smoother.
If you change the movement the ST16 movement should be a good match to the DG28 and the friction spring on that movement is easier to access since the ST16 has a separate auto winding bridge.
See this thread: http://forums.watchuseek.com/showthread.php?t=298990
Good luck on fixing your movement!

Here is a thread on the U1 rep: http://www.rwgforum.com/topic/106656-sinn-u1-review-leather/.

I have the Swiss PVD U1 on the way. I can't wait to get it here.

Thats why everyone looks funny at me when I try to pronounce Rolex

I know! The reason I'm not very active here is because I usualy dont take much interest in rep watches but this Sinn rep just looks so good and I don't want to put down the money for a gen. There are other watches in that price range that are higher up on my list.
Thanks! I'll check out Joshuas store.

After seeing all the great reviews and pictures here I think I need one. I'll go for the Swiss ETA PVD version.
What is the best source to get it? Is it the same watch from all the different dealers?
How does the U1 rep compare to the gen? I know about the slight differences in appearence but how about quality wise?

I'm looking for ways to age the lume on dial and hands for a project I'm working on.
Are there any good methods? I've heard of coffee, tea and cigar smoke. Anything that works good?

I need to pack for a holiday trip so short answer- Andrew is Trustytime, I'm in U.S. so no recomendation on shipping to Sweden (from China where Andrew is), when it rains and I'm outdoors all my reps go in my pants pocket. I believe you could pay extra for a proper water resistance upgrade...although mine has provrn to be especially water tight from the factory.
Gotta' go, Arty
Thank you! Have a nice trip!

I sure like mine from Andrew. The Bond strap it comes on is chinsy though, thin strap material with plated hardware. I purchased some different Natos with stainless steel hardware from Gnomonwatches for a little variety...
Good luck, Arty
That's beautiful! Now I want one even more. Sorry for asking but wich one is Andrew? I'm new to this so bare with me. I just noticed that $218 is without shipping so for me it would be $263 shipped from TrustyTime. Do you know where Trusty ships from? Since I live in Sweden shipping within EU would make avoiding customs fees easier and I noticed that EuroTimez have the option to send it from an EU country.
How much does the quality differ from watch to watch? Is the QC worth the extra $40 or $65 if it should be sent from an EU country?
Another question, how is the WR on these? 200m?

Go to links (at the top of the page) click on dealer websites, and then on Eurotimez. You won't be disappointed! Idolreplicas is a typical scam site.
Thank you! I've been checking the links now and why the big differences in price between dealers? To me it looks like the same watch, e.g. Eurotimez $300, Trusty Time $218. They even use the same picture. Am I missing something?

I'm looking for a nice milsub rep. What choices do I have?
I'm new to the whole rep watch thing so what should I look and look out for?
Regards!

It seems to run a little fast .
Could it be the pallet lever that's out of place? If it doesn't stop the escape wheel as it should I think the movement would do what yours is doing.
Picture and description of the pallet lever.
