  1. Yeppers - it was the round head that was the issue.
  2. I've bought from this seller in the past and the screws were too big for my rep. Mine wouldn't fit the CG and I needed smaller screws. Measure your existing screws first and if you have a chat with him he'll confirm the sizes before sending -> mine were a mm or so smaller.
  3. Yeah I know.. hence the following "bit slow to the dance" post. Apologies, tried to delete the original but messed it all up Its Friday and its all going wrong for me Lessoned Learnt: Don't sneek a look at RWG whilst at work
  4. The 183 has been in production since 2004 and the letter is used by Panerai to denote the production year. G was 2004 and H was 2005. The G series movement had the "panerai" deco but the H series uses the new cotes de geneve deco. Regards, f.
  5. Hi All, Looking for some advice on straps. Couple of people have recommended that I look at BOB straps - where's a good place to look at the various ones available? and get these for postage in the EU? Ideally, I'd like to get a good quality rep strap with the Panerai stamp - could anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks, f
  6. My missus prefers the IWC Portofino Chrono (IW378303) on me... but I prefer the Panerai Cheeseburger
  7. Awesome work on raising the DW by the way - it was really informative and really helped me understand the various A7750 configurations Would I be right in thinking that the removal of the gears only effects the minute hand? My main concern is how to get the minute hand looking functional (i.e. slighty raised from the dial but glued into a pin or something). Any recommendations to solve that problem? I'm worried that if glue is used then any knock will cause my minute had to drop off Don't suppose you fancy working on a PAM250 My next book may be called "How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the DW" Thanks, f.
  8. From what I've researched, the gears that modify the A7750 to the 3,6,9 configuration can be removed safely. This means the chrono will still work (with the exception of the minute dial) but the date wheel can be raised because no gear gets in the way. Think I might go down this route as it has two benefits: (1) I don't use the chrono so won't miss it, and (2) I can still show people that the chrono works as long as I stop it before 60 seconds Thanks for the info guys - its appreciated PS: I'l post a pic once its done
  9. I had no issues with my lello datewheel going into the Panerai dealer but coming out it's started to bother me I've got a PAM250 with A7750 (a 3,6 & 9 configuration). Does anyone know if the sunken DW solution posted last year by Francisco ever became a mod-kit or whether anyone performs that mod? Also curious if anyone had the minute gears removed to allow the DW to be raised? How did that work out for you? Any success or failure stories greatly appreciated Thanks in advance, f.
  10. I'll have a version C as well please :-) Email sent
  11. Thought it was about time I introduced myself as I've been lurking around the forum for over a year now. Since joining the forum I've acquired a PAM250 hamburger from one of the members and I'm the process of basic modding with some great assistance and advice from the complete stars on this forum Also, just awaiting the arrival of my new IWC Portofino Chrono (also via this forum) - what can I say, I'm completely addicted to the watches and starting to sense that I should change hobbies since this is starting to impact my ability save for a rainy day and provide food for my table Still officially below noob status but I can see the glimmer of understanding at the end of the tunnel now and at some point I hope to start doing my own modification projects and to start giving something back. Thanks for a good year and here's looking forward to 2010 f.
