  1. thanks to andrew. excellent communication. he sent phenominal QC pics. received watch within 6 days of ordering. thorough packaging. amazing experience, highly recommended. the watch. mediocre lume but this was expected. date wheel is a hair off but this was expected too. watch has a great heavy feel. 60click bezel is sturdy. rubber bracelet is heavy duty. crystal looks great. watch adds less than 10 seconds a day. the piece that holds the crown in doesnt ever come loose. ive gotten too many compliments on this watch and i've only worn it for a week. great replica.
  2. thank you for the advice. i have nothing bad to say about josh and you're right i had asked him for a different watch/replacement. i will try the advice and hopefully it will work, its a beautiful watch!
  3. i rec'd a blue skyland avenger from josh and it is absolutely beautiful! however, i think theres something wrong with the movement. i have wound the watch well and it runs fine while sitting upright. when it sits sideways or when its on my wrist, the second hand will not sweep smoothly (instead is sweeps for about 4 seconds and then clicks forward about 2 seconds.) when the second hand freezes, the whole watch stops keeping time and the chronograph wont work...by shaking the watch gently the second hand will start again...nothing is impeding the second hand, it is a fair distance from the dial and doesnt brush against it. it has to be something with the movement, would you agree? i emailed josh about the problem and he told me to "Tap the watch on the side.. against your palm.. Tap it a couple time.. Pretty hard.. Seee if it will free things up." im still having the same problem, i asked if i could send the watch back for an exchange but josh said, "Let the watch stay upright for a period of 2 days.. See if it will get better .Sorry I cannot allow exchange to another model." it looks like i have a new $250 paperweight...has anyone had a similar problem with the a7750? any advice?
  4. to add, i know the quality of that picture really sucks but for what it is - it doesnt give the CGs any justice they are looking real nice i think...but the lighting does showcase the recessed bezel insert nicely
  5. CGs on my mbk 1680 were almost there...top CG just needed 5-10 more passes with the sandpaper...bracelet off, caseback off.... when i went to release the crown i pulled it to the third position and then gently pushed the release...the crown came out but the movement started again...since i didnt want it running while i worked on the CGs i went to put the crown back in...i tried several, multiple, numerous times before i lost my fukcing patience and started rapidly trying to jam it in...shame on me lol anyways, where is the crown release pin? i tell you i do not have the answer to that question.. but i think it popped off and is lost deep within the depths of the movement...im not sure if it is(was) on a spring or if it snapped or what but the movement is basically useless now lol...so i went to remove the whole movement/dial from the case and got so impatient that i did it in the air and the whole thing fell out and now the datewheel spins freely lol thank god/zeus/buddha/allah/whoever the fukc that i had a spare 2836-2 mounted on a 1680 dial....i just dropped it in and im back in business...regarding the other movement, this is a huge loss that will certainly have its resounding effects throughout the community at large... take home lesson: use a gentle touch, maintain your patience...do not be afraid to step away for a second, get a few breaths, and come back to working on the watch here is the case now with the new dial and movement...im still in the process of researching a new camera but a lil iphone preview never hurt anyone lol
  6. found some...for anyone else searching or interested, attached
  7. thank you i have found many great articles on HOW to file down the CGs for a gen look...but i cannot seem to find any photos from the side...does anyone have? or would anyone be willing to post a pic of modded CGs (or gen CGs for that matter) with the angle looking directly at the crown (preferably with the crown removed)? what im wondering is if the inside of the CGs should still have a minor curve or if they should be sanded all the way flat?
  8. nice thanks...the washer was covered in glue and had to be bent down as well...i used a qtip to gently press down on it at each hour mark... the most difficult part is getting the bezel to rotate with a uniform tension thruout its entire circumference...any thoughts? trial and error?
  9. on my MBK1680 the bezel is almost impossible to rotate and it refuses to loosen...anyone else have this problem? maybe some glue in the crystal-bezel junction? if i pop off the bezel, how do i fix this - clean it with water? isopropyl alcohol? im hesitant to pop off the bezel too many times, worried about scratching the sides of the crystal thoughts?
  10. sorry no pics yet, but just received a fresh MBK 1680 so i thought id put it on today...lots of work to do especially with the insert and god awful pearl
  11. above or below the radiocarpal joint? in the past i have gradually bent numerous springbars and i think its from extension of the wrist and too much tension diffusing across the ELs
  12. couldnt find a topic on this...im curious where do you wear your watch? i keep it high on the wrist because i worry about too much tension on the ELs/springbars when i bend and move my hand over the course of the day. i also think this is a more conservative look...however it is sometimes difficult to negotiate with the shirtcuff...i suppose the divers extension could come in use (for once) here but that would just be silly now wouldnt it...some colleagues wear their watches real "baggy" and it sorta hangs on the wrist...i suppose it looks good when the watch sags from under your cuff but sometimes it looks sloppy where/how do you think the watch should sit on the wrist?
  13. new to this site but its great! medstudent from the midwest new to reps...ordered a vintage1680 from ET...would like to start servicing and cant wait to learn more!
