    COPPER WIRE

After having dug to a depth of 10 feet last year, British scientists found traces of copper wire dating back 200 years and came to the conclusion that their ancestors already had a telephone network more than 150 years ago.

Not to be outdone by the Brit's, in the weeks that followed, an American archaeologist dug to a depth of 20 feet, and shortly after, a story published in the New York Times: "American archaeologists, finding traces of 250-year-old copper wire, have concluded that their ancestors already had an advanced high-tech communications network 50 years earlier than the British".

One week later, the state’s Dept of Minerals and Energy in Western Australia , reported the following:

"After digging as deep as 30 feet in Western Australia ’s Pilbara region, Jack Lucknow, a self-taught archaeologist, reported that he found absolutely [censored] all.  Jack has therefore concluded that 250 years ago, Australia had already gone wireless."

Just makes you bloody proud to be Australian

Haha Classic! Who the hell said we need a National Broadband Network

  2. Hey all,

I had a bit of work done on my 005G a little over half a year ago. About two weeks ago I noticed that the pin had begun to protrude outward from the crown guard. It was originally flush with the hole as shown.

    Protruded

I'm sure this is a pretty familiar problem, but was wondering on some suggestions to safely refit the pin to its original position.

    Thanks!

  3. Hey Guys,

I do have an F-Series caseback from an 005 (0018/1200) i purchased a couple of months ago from a member here. Not sure what the production number of the 111 is though. It might be inaccurate in that respects. However, it is going under a big facelift at the moment and i won't have the original parts shipped back to me for a few weeks.

If you are happy to wait? Then you can take it off me by all means!

  4. Hey tissot,

Funnily enough i bought a Portuguese 7-days from them a little while back. Although they aren't apart of the trusted rep community here, the guy who runs the business there was very responsive, answered my questions and delivered in reasonable time. Saying that, the Big Pilot he sells isn't very accurate. The dimensions of the case aren't 1:1. If you want to purchase an excellent Big Pilot rep, i'd suggest purchasing the BP 5002 V1 from Josh or Andrew.

    Dan.

  5. Hey RWG, how are you guys?

I've been reading up over a couple of months on this forum on all sorts of stuff, it's amazing what you guys do! I'm a university student from Australia, who adores watches (particularly the IWC's and Panerai's). But being a student and all, money usually revolves around having a good time, sometimes "too" much of a good time haha. So, i've been searching and searching for that one watch to spent a bit money on. I've decided I'm going to go for a BP 5002 V1 (an absolute classic). I've seen the work done by Sander, Vac and a few other members and all i can say is well done! Lately there has been a sort of BP renaissance going on, and it's been awesome! I know I'm going to enjoy my time here,

    Thanks guys,

    Dan.
