bwhitesox, thanks for sharing your watch! It's really nice! I was hoping to modify mine to become like yours. Now, it seems like I should just leave the way it is. The case is not right for any franken work. Nonetheless, the unmodified watch is still pretty nice actually. Does yours have sharp/rough to touch Breitling logo on the caseback?

Thanks R for the link! I have just read it. This is what I got out of it: If there is only one version of the 6-9-12 Serie Special watch, then I can use its case and put a 7753 movement and modified gen dial in it. However, doing so would sacrifice the ability to quick date change. The question is, whether or not there is only one version of the Serie Special. Mine has sunken dw, whereas the ones I have seen on dealers' websites don't. What do you think? On the other hand, I may be better off just wait. A7753 Navitimers may be on their way...

Hi R! On the SOSF, the dw is gen from a Colt. On the BCE, I think the dw is a Lello.

I got the temperature scale one. The Breitling wing logo feel rough with my fingers. I'm thinking about Capecod it a bit. I don't really care if I made it all shinny, as long as it's not rough. Do you think Capecod cloth will make it more smooth?

I've never been a big fan of Navitimer in the past nor gold watches, but for some reason, lately (about two months ago) I started to pay more attention on the Navitimer. I still don't like gold watches. Two tone ones are ok. I like Navitimer Serie Special because it has 6-9-12 subdials. I thought with this configuration, the A7750 would get least amount of modification or no modification necessary. I also thought this meant no sunken date wheel. Well, I just recently received a Navitimer Serie Special, and it has sunken dw. From what I saw on our dealers' websites, the dw seemed not sunken and also the caseback looked different. Did I miss anything? How many versions are there? Any pro and cons with each version? Please help (thanks)! In the mean while, I have to say, I still do enjoy my Serie Special. Even it has sunken dw

Have not wearing this watch for a long time... My Breitlings' fault! I'm going to enjoy this watch for one week! Well, maybe, maybe not.

Thanks! I never thought I would end up with the gen dial, but then it showed up for sale. I would enjoy my watch regardless if the dial is gen (true story but the gen dial did make it look nicer). I guess that's what making our hobby fun because our reps can always get improved over time, so the ownership becomes a long term experience... Hmm... do I sound like a marriage counselor?

I told myself I would never own a chronograph mechanical watch because of the high maintenance cost. But... it didn't take me long to change my mind. They are just too nice. My second Breitling was a black dial v2 BCE with corrected dw. It's from a member in Europe. I had it for three days before I attempted to remove the bezel. This is what it looked like then. I had a gen dial installed and hand lumed. This is what it looks like now. That is what gen dial and bezel, hands relumed.

I started my Breitling collection with a gen Breitling Colt Auto with blue dial. I didn't like it too much largely because of its size. Then, I joint our forum. Soon later, I bought a blue dial SOSF from another member in the south. This is what it looked like then: inside of this watch, I found a rep Omega movement! I then installed a gen Pro I bracelet and gen ETA 2824-2 movement, dw and rotor (from a rare opportunity) on it and took it for a "swim" in Florida swamp (well, involuntary... the kayak flipped). WR worked great. I enjoyed it for almost a year before I sent it out for further modifications. A new gen black dial (bought it from another rare opportunity and I don't know how to source another) was installed. The pearl got relumed. This is the result:

I think alcohol based is ok. I bought some of those disposable Zeiss lens cleaning wet tissues. They have alcohol on them (at least smell like it), they work well on my AR coated eye glasses, thus I'd say it's safe for AR coating on the watch crystals as well. I would avoid solvent like acetone.

This is how I do it. I take the bezel tabs off first, then I use a thin stainless steel ruler. Since those round head bezel screws are for the looks, they don't really hold the bezel down (unlike gen). However, you might not be able to remove the v4 bezel without destroying the bezel. If this is the case, don't do it. This is what the watch looks like after the bezel is removed. This is what the bezel ratchet ring looks like.
