hackR: Thanks for your suggestion. The 12o'clock tab is a part of the bezel, cannot be removed, unlike the windrider tabs on BCE. I wish it's the same, but...no. My pearl is not really too bad. It's ok, it's just not great. I mean if I can't change it, then I can't change it. Really, I should be more realistic, not expecting perfections.
Andeww: You are right. It's almost impossible to find a SOSF dial! I just got lucky.
Bike Mike: Thanks for the info! Looks like I will have to relume my current rep hands then.
jchurch: Good luck finding a blue dial!
Guys, thanks for the replies!
Opti: As for the bezel, I know with some Breitling models, the bezel is very hard to get it off, but it seems to me that with the first or second generation ones the bezel is more likely able to be removed without too much effort. On the rep bezel, what troubles me is the pearl. It's really not bad, but since I have already done a lot on the watch, it would be great if I can also replace the bezel... I may be daydreaming...
BT: I got a black one on ebay. I know they are really hard to find. In fact this is the only one I have seen for sale...ever. Hopefully there are some come up soon. I will keep an eye out for you.
I have a first generation "Swiss" SOSF, and so far I only had a gen Swiss ETA 2824-2 movement, gen rotor and gen dw installed. I'm planning to install a gen dial later. Does anyone know where I can get a set of gen hands? Mine second hand's the square and dot are too close to the end. Do the later SOSF have better case, better pearl? If so, should I also change the case? Does the case accept a gen bezel (or a better made rep bezel)?
Thanks!
What a beautiful watch! Good job, BT!
I'm slowly warmed up to the Skyland too. Now, I think I actually like it better than my SOSF. If I have to only keep 1 rep our of my collection, it would be my Skyland. Very well built watch!
Good job BT!
You are exactly right about BCE is in the same league as the Yachtmaster. However, I think to be a true "old rich man" you will have to have this one.

In situation like this, sometime it's cheaper just buying another rep with better dial and hands. You certainly don't want to spend tons of money on a watch may not be worth of modifing in the first place.
You see the white stuff on the crystal is becasue the crystal is not anti-reflective coated. You can have it coated if you like (assuming the crystal is sapphire of course). The differences between the dial and hands... do you mean they lume differently? Reluming job will fix this problem (about $100 job).
I'm with BT also. I think a lot of us are the same way. If the watch passes the rep test, then it's time for a genuine piece (I will always keep an eye on genuine sales ad until one day I find a good deal). I try to avoid paying premiums for a gen. Just like a lot of people here, I started with genuine pieces. My first rep to gen purchase is a Omega Planet Ocean 45mm.
It used to be the ok ok watch in my collection. Just lately, I found myself liking it very much, especially when I mount mine (a v3) on black nylon straps. Highly recommend it!
I don't think so. They are relatively inexpensive, thus there are not whole lot of money can be made in the rep.
If you want a gen one, check out http://www.countycomm.com they are pretty good.
