  1. Hey everyone It seems to me that the selection of quality jaeger le coultre reps is very limited? Anybody have any insight as to why? I would bet that good reps of jlc's would really sell. Maybe I'm mistaken and they are out there. If so, anybody know where I can grab a rep of the following? http://www.prestigetime.com/item/Jaeger-LeCoultre/Tribute-to-Deep-Sea-Chronograph/206.85.70.html Thanks John
  2. Yes - I am in the US - Specifically in NYC. I'm sorry to hear that Mike is ill. Hope it's nothing serious. Good to know about the chronos and challenge to waterproof. I'll definitely factor that into my choice of rep. I'll check out Vac's page and reach out when necessary. Thanks for all the feedback
  3. Thanks so much Ben. That helps a lot. I've been a member for a while but not all that active. I am just really getting more serious about the hobby.
  4. Hi there - I am looking to purchase an Omega Planet Ocean Chrono or a Breitling Superocean Chrono from one of the trusted dealers or if I can find one from the marketplace forum. I was wondering how I could get it serviced. Upon purchasing, I think it would probably be a good idea to have it cleaned and lubed as well as superlumed and waterproofed. I just have no idea how i would go about getting that done. Please let me know what you think.
  5. Hi everyone - I am very interested in purchasing a JLC NSD. Toro sells both movements (asian and swiss) and I was hoping you'd provide your opinions on whether or not it is worth spending the extra $150 for the swiss movement. Would I even notice? thanks John please excuse my noobness
  6. Thanks everyone. Anyone know where I can pick up the best swiss rep?
  7. SHOOT - My apologies - I just saw that someone posted almost the exact same question regarding vendors. I am still interested in your thoughts about Asian vs Swiss movement.
  8. Hi everyone, I am very interested in buying a high quality jlc navy seals rep. Does anyone have any recommendations? Asian vs Swiss movement? Dealer? Please let me know Thanks John
  9. Hey TT - I just checked out your review. WOW - Great job. I contacted concepta to see what can be done to make it look more like a gen, but if it gets too expensive, I may forego it and just save my money to get the gen. I think I might be able to live with the rep as is. Any feedback and opinions would be greatly appreciated.
  10. So here are the pictures. 1. Caseback of a gen case that concepta posted which is the same as the gen I saw at the AD. 2. Front of my rep 3. Back of my rep Is the caseback on my rep just flat out wrong or is that what a previous gen had?
  11. Hey guys, I posted a couple of weeks ago that I ordered my first IWC Rep (Spitfire Chrono) from Mary. I got the watch and I couldn't be happier. I love the classic size and understated elegance. It's a really nice piece and am really considering putting aside money for an authentic one. I was in Vegas this weekend and stopped by the IWC AD at the Palazzo to check out the authentic version and found some differences between mine and the one in the store. I was wondering if it's possible to purchase the parts and have them installed to make the watch look accurate. The three things I noticed were: 1) Strap color, material and quality. This was a dead give away but not unexpected. I called them later and asked if they had a replacement strap in stock. They were selling it for $290. 2) The minute hand on the rep seems just a little bit on the long side. Barely noticeable, but now that I recognized the difference, it bugs me. 3) The case back is significantly different. I'm not sure if the caseback from my rep is one that was once used by IWC or if it's just plain wrong. I'll post a picture of mine and an authentic (from a post on the forum). Can the minute hand and caseback be sourced? If so, is there someone who can replace the minute hand and caseback for me? Please let me know Thanks John
  12. Hey guys - I just got the following qc pictures from Mary. What do you think?
  13. Thanks a lot for the feedback Toadtorrent. That makes a lot of sense. Here's the one I ordered. http://www.watch-international.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=1254 I looked through a bunch of the dealer sites listed on the forum and the pic here looks most like the one on the IWC website. Also, it seems that Mary is pretty reputable and sells quality pieces. So far, her communication has been quick. I hope it all works out nicely.
  14. So, since I purchased the Asian 7750 movement, I have read that it's probably a good idea to have it serviced. Any recommendations?
  15. I'm a long time reader, 1st time poster and I finally pulled the trigger and ordered my first IWC Rep from Mary at Watches-International. I've been eyeing IWC for a long time and finally decided that a spitfire was the way to go. Can't wait till it gets here. Granted I am waiting to hear back from Mary regarding payment and shipping. Hopefully that'll go qquickly. I'll post pictures as soon as I get it.
